    My original intention for this humidifier was to use it for plants that require high moisture levels. After using it in my room, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxtD9aJ2m6GU-X1IChQxjn9l31K1A7Kpwj however, I think that's where it is going to stay in the fall and winter season at least. The increased humidity in my room made the room warmer and more comfortable. I had first ran the humidifier for 4 hours with the timer setting for it. After the first hour, I checked my room and can feel the difference. When the full 4 hours was up, I checked again and noticed that the humidifier was shut off as it is suppose to. The moisture level never seem to get passed 56/57%. I then let it run until all the water is used up, which it wasn't all used up. There are still some left in the base that you are not suppose to add water to. I filled up the water tank all the way again, being careful when removing it from the base. Some left over water may spill out. After putting it back on and setting the unit to auto, I let it operate. It didn't stop running, rather I don't know if it did at any point since I didn't check it regularly, for 24 hours after which the water in the tank ran out. The moisture reading never passed 56/57%, which may be a good thing for me. Being situated right next to my bed, the noise was not very noticeable with the occasional water gurgle from time to time as the unit ran.

    I have the same one. I bought it for a tiny storage room in my previous flat. In winter it was moldy and smelt musty. I did the same experiment as you, mesuring the temperature and humidity relative everyday. But using an outside sensor, I considered the Tout and Hout as well. In my case it wasn't a basement, but a room without windows. So the weather had a consistent influnce of the humydity inside the storage room/flat. Turning on just at night, I found a good result only after weeks. Now, in my new flat and I use it for my wardrobe and it defitely does the job. But you definitely need a bigger unit for your porpuse (50% H). Looking at the date when you posted the video, I'm quite sure you already found a good solution.

      These are sold as whole house dehumidifiers all over eBay, I'm getting a VacPlus unit soon to review, as I got a really good price for it and it's replacing a unit that can't deal with the cooler temps where it's used, old unit's 22 years old and still runs fine in warmer areas, I doubt the VacPlus will last more than 10 years, but for the price I paid I'll be happy of I get 5 years of use

    I have a 70 pint/day dehumidifier by Danby. It doesn't take too long for the humidity to drop from 60 to 40 percent. I think thermoelectric versions have room for improvement. By passing the chilled and dried air through the hot side's heatsink, the cold side cools even more so it can extract more moisture.

    A unit that size won't do much, its more like a toy, the humidity differences you saw are probably just from overall weather changes, but it was fun to watch regardless, and the pinball room is pretty impressive. I would invest in a decent dehumidifier if you want to do it properly.

    that humidifier is rated to move 1 cup of water per day. So it worked as specified. He just needs to get a higher capacity dehumidifier that's all ( or have 2-3 small ones running ).

    Nice review ! This came up when I searched for Pro Breeze brand. I am in Europe so I guess they are location specific brands using same product. Glad you pointed the difference out.
    Very glad you showed it running for more than 24 hours with very disappointing results confirming my worries about small size units. Gonna check some more and then I will look into medium/large size units.
    THANK U !

      There are DEhumidifiers and Humidifiers, they have opposite purpose. If u need to put water in then its increasing humidity which is bad for already humid rooms.

    The fan is just to keep the hot side of the peltier module inside the unit cool and is not for dehumidification. Like you said, it's good for a closet, and that's about it. Get yourself a desiccant wheel dehumidifier for cooler climates or a compressor dehumidifier for warmer climates. Or a small air conditioner with a dehumidifier mode.

    So I have one of these, and it says in the instructions to run for eight hours and let it rest for another eight hours or else you risk the unit motor burning out from constant use.
    I have a big Amazon unit in the basement, but I keep this one nearby to help on a timer that activates every 8 hours. The big one does about 99% of the job, but the little one helps when the big one gets full when I’m at work or asleep.

    For problem windows I’d recommend the polythene system in winter. You put double sided sticky tape around the problem window and attach polythene, it acts as a barrier to the cold glass! It definitely works. Cheers

  • @Mickimoss

    That thing seems not working. My room is 65% humidity and when I turn on my Air Conditioner it will lower the humidity to like 59% (I usually use a one hour timer to cool my room) , and it happens quite fast from 65 to 59.

  • @mr__daly
    @mr__daly 3 года назад +3

    The digital humidity meter and the dehumidifier should be at the same height. Also, the temp in the room needs to be at a certain level for the dehumidifier to work better - Over 15oC and over 40% humidity. Capacity - approx 250ml per day at 30oC, 80% relative humidity. It's in the instruction manual.

    This isn't really what its meant for... It's meant for a small closet or similar very small space like a cupboard. That room is way too big for it. You need an actual room dehumidifier.

  • @maxfactor4209
    @maxfactor4209 4 года назад +1

    I bought a large unit for over 200 pounds from Currys.. it just doesn't work. I have 3 hygrometers at my house in very different places. I did some observations over a period of like 2 weeks.. average humidity did not change even for one percent (my house humidity is around 65 percent average) even though
    the reservoir was full after just 1 day of use but the humidity did not drop at all. the problem is the humidity finds a way to get it to your house to balance the potential. if your machine is not fast enough, you do not gonna see any changes.

    These mini dehumidifiers are completely worthless and NOT worth paying for. They will not even work for a bathroom much less a larger room. Buy a larger compressor powered one for about 3 times the price, but will suck many pints of water out every 24 hours vs a few ounces for these.
