I know Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the login password. I appreciate any help you can offer me.
I'm kinda wondering if youtube pulls that stat from total views. Because some videos get millions of views, and some videos get a few k. The larger videos would skew the overall statistics. Whereas on unpopular videos like these, 33k views vs 250k subs, the only people who are watching this are subscribers. So telling us to subscribe is kinda pointless.
You of all people can't possibly conflate the concepts of quality and viral, million plus views. I enjoy the quality of your arrangements and performances, although your presentation is for a demographic roughly 50 yrs younger than I. For instance my bass trombone grandson came away from Redlands more pumped about you than about Alessi and van Rijen (which is frankly nuts, and I don't think you'd feel insulted by my saying that). You're inspiring a generation of young players the way almost no players of my youth outside of Jimmy Pankow or maybe Dave Bergeron. Players like Jay Friedman or Glen Dobson reached only fractions of the listeners you're reaching. There's a big responsibility that goes with that, and you described your work as doing pop tunes. I hope you embrace a larger repertoire and let your audience in on even more great music while introducing them to the big guys and the up and coming future big guys . Keep it up. This is your fifteen minutes (I say that as an Andy Warhol reference, not a negative) so don't waste a second of it. If you keep kids living (and loving) music, the lights won't go out (as they seem to dim daily in the world outside the arts). Climbing carefully down off my soapbox. As I near 70 it gets harder and harder to get up there.
14:51 I had to bring out my Melodious Etudes book for that one. That etude is incredibly hard to keep super smooth and Legato. Especially as it gets later on. People should give David Finlayson a lot more credit. The fact that he has played along Joe Alessi for DECADES deserves a huge amount of respect and recognition.
This was cool! I've definitely seen all of these and definitely showed the Royals video to my students for yearrrrs. I like hearing from you as a person. 😄 I've been on notification squad for awhile, but I don't always comment. What made me laugh the most today...my grumpy dog when my husband and I laugh at something too loud on TV. She gets mad and that's silly. 😂
Chris, I personally agree with your opinion on trombone suicides, and I am in high school. At our last football game this year, four of our trombones, two freshmen and two seniors, decided to do them and our band director got really mad at them. Three of them were on school instruments, and the fourth was using a new trombone he'd gotten that summer. Also, I want my pizza, I've been subscribed for a while..... :D I think the hardest I've laughed this week was during the Mardi Gras parade we marched in Sunday. We didn't wear full marching band uniforms because it was "too hot," and there was one guy who came up to us with a camera and said he wanted a picture of "Elvis." He was referring to the trombone player with the shiny trombone, and so now his nickname is Elvis.
We need a part 2 for this video! I want to see you watch Wycliffe Gordon at CancerBlows, if u kept going down one or two videos you would've been there.
I have been a subcriber for a long time. havent had the bell icon on tho. But I look your videos up all the time. At least all the cool covers. My absolute favorite is house of the rising sun. Hope you'd make more rocky videos in the future too :3
I've been subscribed for a year or two and I'm still in high school. I like your videos because they help me improve my playing of the trombone, that I have played for five years since 5th grade
Ok so I've been subbed for a while but finally "hit the bell". Also my hardest laugh for this past week I believe has been at that beginner trombone player! His sound is absolutely authentic!! hahaha🤣😂🤣
at 17:00 they practice with pool noodles. They don't pull out the actual trombones until they make sure they never actually hit each other for a long time with the pool noodles.
I was already subscribed. I didn't know about the "bell." So, I hit the bell. You are not just an amazing musician, your arrangements are ...... you know. Thanks for posting.
I used to watch that "Toccata and Fugue on trombone" video that's 12 years old or so, alot. Your channel came up in suggestions and and now it's been like 8 years lol
I Subscribed today it is Father s Day my Dad use to play Trombone so that is how I found you. Shared three today one was the P!nk Panther one to my TNBC group. Thank you for making this Day so perfect.
Hey Chris - for the Binghamton Youth Symphony anniversary concert, we played March Slave. During rehearsal (Mr. Peters conducts it), the flute section pulled out kazoos to play. Reminds me of the star wars clip.
I remember watching you create a cover for Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines", and smiling when you geeked at the fact that the recording actually worked. Good times.
This is just a recommendation but when you did the sound effect at the beginning of the video maybe with videos like that you could make small pop ups of that effect on trombone
Why haven't we seen a video from you with some cool animals in it? I would like to suggest Holst's First Suite with capybaras. This was super interesting and really insightful in so many ways. I hope you do more of this kind of thing.
Two-set violin does a lot of funny videos including this type of pro vs beginner stuff on different instrument or poking fun at ‘musicians’ in movies. You can go there and learn about “Ling Ling” a fictional violin player who practices 40 hours a day. They also did a hula hoop contest with Hillary Hahn who is also quite into funny antics
1. Which Software do you use, to cut your videos, especially the „picture in picture“ videos? 2. Where have you bought your trombone holders on your wall?
Although I’ve been subscribed, I didn’t know about the “bell”. Done! See you at TMEA. (Booth #1168). And yeah... my laugh of the week was “Man sneezes in to trombone”. It has been a while since I saw that one and it still makes me bust a gut!
I'm okay! I laughed pretty hard yesterday my friends and I were playing a game together, and we laughed pretty hard at the drawings that were drawn. Aw yes the trombone suicides love them, when I was in High School we did trombone suicides to Chelsea Dagger, (some people did get hit, but no trombones were ruined) Everyone loved it so it made me smile, and it made me happy to see that everyone was so amazed by that lol. The football players loved it some of them stayed behind it watch our halftime show lol
After watching your cooking video I honestly think as soon as I get an apartment out of my dorm, I’m probably going to eat predominately vegetarian, maybe vegan. Being a musician, it’s easy to get lost just getting fast food and stuff, but I can’t wait until I can cook for myself
i enjoyed this! maybe you could make a video of you playing a pop song on saturdays and on wednesdays you can do reactions to different band stuff. idk just a thought.
I subscribed and put on notifications! I love your content, it makes me want to be better. I’m an aspiring bass trombone player, and I was wondering what mouthpiece you use for your bass trombone? Thanks!
Nah yeah this is awesome, you could also go over like trombone tip videos and say what actually works and doesnt, or do twoset style content but for band
Random thought. One of my early introductions to brass (beyond The Canadian Brass), was Herb Alpert's music (a parental favorite). Perhaps you can put a fun spin on "The Lonely Bull" which winds up equal parts surf-inspired and latin-inspired.
I subscribed recently (before you told us to) because I saw your subscriber count and I thought you deserved more, then I realised I wasn't subscribed and I like your videos so I subscribed. Now give me pizza! (please)
