Nice have stress relief. I enjoyed when friend had his machine shop. Lose track of time. He kick me out to go home get some rest. He had sell/ retire he couldn't lift stuff hardly any more. Hoping when get set up do saws get that feeling back again.
Ive been watching Buckin for awhile, had no idea you,Buckin, tinman were all friends, you guys are killin it with it all, ive order from all your good guys, i just restored a Husky 66 from Yugoslavia with all new seals , meteor piston and polished the chrome bore, learning alot from you all, im a 2 stroke lover , unfortunately not a husky guy im trying though, there is just something about german quality from the past! Keep it up guys, thanks again
I agree with your blowdown numbers 100% Harvey. More degrees of blowdown not only gives the exhaust time to get out of the cylinder, it allows the crankcase charge to build up a little more before the transfers open. The. You get that little bit more of a push from the crankcase. That 2100 is going to pull like crazy. Can’t wait to here how it sounds. That Mac you’re working on won’t sound like a Mac with all those stihl parts in it!
When I was 12yrs old, I inherited a box of old old old chainsaw parts. I spent the next week putting parts together where I thought they went. When I finished, I had built two complete Husqvarna 2100’s! Now 30yrs later, I still use them to this day! My only problem is parts and repair, I’ve been robbing parts from the second power head. I’d love to know more about working on it and a source of parts/upgrades! I’d love a wrap around handle for my 2100 and my 395! Excellent video as always sir! Keep em comin!
Hello!I have find á Brand new 2100xp original from 1985 new. The man say was is grandfather and only cut one Big eucaliptus and was stored.Need to pay 220usd.Have a 24” and a new 34”.Is clean like new now😂
There is now an AM top end available for the 2100. In addition, one builder put a 2100 crank in a 395 along with a big-bore kit and built a bigger displacement 395.
Glad she's doing better. My 2100 had a different piston and I trimmed the bottom skirt area down so air fuel could go up beside the piston instead of all of it going through the piston. That REALLY woke the saw up. I hope I didn't screw up though after hearing you say that's where they break.
Good to see ya Barb! Glad to hear your feeling a bit better. Praying that you’ll mend quickly. Harvey, what you can figure out to do to a saw never ceases to amaze me. Take care.
Hi Barb 👋What a beautiful little lady she is. Many blessings in health to you both. Thank you for for sharing the Ironhorse family with us.. Much love from your Canadian friends ❤️
Hey guys I really hope this doesn't offend anyone, but I'm trying to get @kiwi lad some more subscribers so he can do live builds, he is a great stihl saw builder, has great super helpful videos. Between ironhorse, tinman, and kiwi lad I've gotten tons of help. He has a great series on ms460 complete build. Ok, thanks guys!!! Hope your all happy and healthy!!!
From the little I know those numbers are nuts, at least you know what your doing. The transfers look nice. Good to see Barb, prayers for her and her daughter, and your whole family. Cheers from Tassie.
Barb, may God Bless and Protect you and your wonderful Family. You are in our prayers. Remember, you are Blessed and Highly Favored. We Love you and your Family. So good to see you Ironhorse.
I feel Higgins from Magnum PI. Hear I am sitting buy the wood stove burning black cherry in NH rain and snow till Saturday morning. As you could see the cold has returned like a heard of wilder beast. As you could see from the huff print in the middle of my fore head.
BARB YOU LOOK VERY GOOD!! So glad your doing better. Harvey it’s so refreshing seeing your eyes light up and twinkle when barb walked in. So awesome. And I’m very excited to follow you on this new build. Some jack off stole my almost new 565 with a brand new 32 inch bar on it right outa the back of my truck. So I’m going to try to save up enough to buy a new 572 from Donnie walker and have him “walkerize” it right their and then I’ll only have to pay for shipping one way. Anyways take care bud and as always WORK SAFE 😎😎🇺🇸🇺🇸
Don't do drugs kids!! I sold a running 2100 for 350$ when I needed money years ago. I'm good now but boy, would have been nice to sober up to a husky 2100. The saw used to jump when it fired if you set it down. Almost forgot about that till I saw this video. That saw will be amazing to run, and make any seasoned cutter go 😳😀😀😀
Sure was nice to see your wife Barb on her feet Harvey. I had to laugh when you mentioned the intake numbers on the 2100. I am playing with an old style 61 cylinder and cut the ports first. Then decided to bump up the compression by cutting down the squish area and the base on the lathe. Should have done that first. Now my compression and squish is limited to my intake timing. My amateur tip of the day, do your intake timing last. And I absolutely love your little cat buddy. He sure likes you!
Feel better soon Barb. Iron horse thank you for that great video. Love learning. And you're right, that 266 tinman is doing is going to be sweet! Have a great day everyone
G'day mate. Haven't been on here in a while. Sending my regards to you and your family in these tough times. Stay strong and great job with all your doing! Much love and kindness from Australia 🌲
God bless you both. Great to see Barb today. You, Tinman, and Buckin gave me the saw bug. I had 1 Husky 257 since new in 1997. Within the last month I've acquired 2 more old ones. A Homelite 150 automatic blue, and Poulan 2000 in craftsman cloths. Tomorrow, I have another Husky coming but don't know what and a Poulan that I don't know what it is. So yeah, so far 100% success in getting them running and in the wood. I found the 2 in an old car full of scrap in a junkyard for FREE. The 2 tomorrow is going to cost me an hours with of metal lathe work. Thanks for what you do. Take care pal.
It's so wonderful to see Barb again!!! Barb, glad to hear you're doing better. Keep getting better till you're 100% again. Harv, also glad to see your apprentice "Shadow" back for another video. He's just so cute! I'd bet with those thumbs, Shadow could assemble a saw. :-)
Hey Barb it was nice to see you . And laughing to ! I'm glad your feeling better !!! Have some hugs for you. Harvey its never boring. Always interesting. Since I stopped eating tomatoes and potatoes my arthritis is not nearly as bad. And I'm still losing some weight to .!!! I have a question?? I have a iteck Briggs and Stratton!! I pulled the heads and faced the valve's and done the seats and of course new head gaskets and adjusted the valve's because it was blowing oil !! It is still blowing some oil but it's coming from the PCV!! That can cause oil blowing right! It runs very good... Am I right in my thinking is the question???? 😊👍👍👍🌎🌞
I've got my dad's 2100 husky I wood love to get going need some small parts.glad to see you working on one. I've got 2-372xp----2 .395xp 2--- 288 xp. 1---2100 . Like to ask you about the 2100
Hi Harvey!!😀😀 Glad to see Barb is feeling better!! I know what you mean about uncle Arthur bothering with the cold damp weather. Take care my friends!!😀😀❤❤ Logger Al
1 more thing not to be a bother, but if you have time I put up a video last week. Black top 61 with a 50mm husqvarna 66 cylinder that I ported. I was pretty happy with the out come
Hope you are doing well, bro. I just got back from the Va - they had cancelled all my medications becausee they had not gotten a lab n over a year. That’s not my fault. They are the ones scared shitless of the COVID. They had not scheduled an appointment for me and did not have the courtesy of letting me know what they are doing. When dealing with the VA it is always your fault, never theirs. However, they used me for a pincushion, today, the nurse that drew my blood had to get her certificate out of a Cracker Jacks box💕😒
That's awsome I'm building a 298 and I tried copying ur transfer port shape I know I didt get anywhere near as perfect as u but I'm learning alot from u I'm really interested on seeing how u make that x torque carb fit that might end up being a future mod for me great job and keep ur horses running buddy
Hello Harvey, always good to have the little lady drop by, feel better Barb! Harvey could you post a video of you actually porting a cylinder, with a “ black line reference “ marks where you are grinding, and a quick discussion of the tools you use? I’m just getting into working on my saws, and I have seen saws for sale at the local flea markets, that i could potentially get cheap, i would like to build not only my arsenal of saws, but my knowledge as well!
Uncle Harv I have several donor saws. Husky 61, 359, 365, 455. I plan to do my first porting job. These are all similar but do you recommend one over the others. Also should I buy a cheap aftermarket cylinder, piston kit to begin with or buy the Highway or similar and save the original?
Hello sir hope u have a good week. I need ur help sir please! What was the non governors. oem carb that came on the 298 or 1100cd or 2100 or 2101xp????ur help would be greatly appreciated !!!!
Iron Horse help! How do I get the old toggle switches off the old Husqvarna 380? The toggle unit has a brass nut which is too shallow to be used with any socket and it burrs up. On inside it’s broken and not attached to any guts. The toggle pin came out so there’s a hole now. Any ideas? Tried getting it out from inside too, but not only is the unit beveled but the magnesium housing is canted inboard so you can’t gain purchae
Glad to see you getting more videos out again Harv. Still love watching all your videos. Question, are closed windows pistons better in an open transfer cylinder (66/266)compared to open window piston?
I have a 272 cylinder I'm working on 17° of transfer timing. It will end up with 22°. Could we get a 372 connecting rod and press it on to a 272 crank? Then put 372 top end on 272.
Nice have stress relief. I enjoyed when friend had his machine shop. Lose track of time. He kick me out to go home get some rest. He had sell/ retire he couldn't lift stuff hardly any more. Hoping when get set up do saws get that feeling back again.

I uploaded two short vids today Friday 4/16/2021 for the first time.
I’ll check them out!
Might want to check the ignition timing, I had to do some work to the coil to restore spark

Hi Barb 👋
I’m working on a 2100 too. But the carburetor is shot and no good, what carburetor is that a walbro? Cause the old tillitsons are hard to find.
U ever figure out a replacement?
Glad to see you getting more videos out again Harv. Still love watching all your videos. Question, are closed windows pistons better in an open transfer cylinder (66/266)compared to open window piston?
