There are ways to counter black chess. One is to place first big white chess to center. if opponent already knows this trick, you can place a medium chess piece to a corner opposite the side of their chess piece. It's hard to explain when it is not shown but a lot of times when white wins, it is because you have more pieces on the board than the opponent.

You get a shield that increases your dmg by 10% as long as you don't take a hit that takes more than 30% of your max HP. If shield gone it will be back in 15s, it's quite good

There is also the strategy called 495, put medium pieces on 4, then another medium piece on 9, big on 5. Win at 1 and 6.
Actually, when u hold Black and use the medium as first hand, u mostly winning already. (As long u know what r u doing)
