Jannik Sinner reaches No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings, becomes first Italian to top the sport

Jannik Sinner was presented with the ATP World No.1 trophy by Tour Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi after rising to the top of the rankings for the first time on Monday. Despite falling at the French Open semi-finals to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz, who rose himself to second in the world, Novak Djokovic’s withdrawal in the quarters due to a knee injury saw the Italian climb to the summit with Djokovic dropping to third.
Sinner became the first Italian man or woman to reach number one in singles since computerised rankings were introduced 51 years ago. Watch here for more details
