Also, many historical documentaries about the fall of Berlin point that out. It seems like you are trying to say everybody look at the Russian Army like they are the good guys.

Some people are trying to paint Magda as a hero for humanely killing her children before the Soviets got to them. Let me assure you, these parents are NO heroes, not in the least. First of all, Magda and Joseph had NUMEROUS offers from other people to send their children away to safer places, long before the end of the war. It wasn't like they suddenly found themselves trapped with no options for their children's future. These parents were diehard Nazis who couldn't imagine raising their kids in a world with Nazism or Adolf Hitler. The kids had grandparents who weren't Nazis, and they might have had a decent upbringing had the parents died, but the grandparents were able to raise them, but that was probably the thing that Magda and Joseph feared, and they would have rather seen their kids dead than raised without Nazi beliefs. These kids were basically sacrificed for their parents' radical political beliefs. Even Joseph had said in a letter that if worst came to worst in Germany, he and Magda and the children would all die side by side with the Fuhrer. Also, the children did NOT all die as peacefully as implied. The oldest child, Helga, who was only twelve and had some idea what was going on with the war, started to come around after being sedated, just before being given a cyanide tablet. When her body was found, there were some indications that she had been trying to fight for her life -- she had bruises all over her body, and her jaw was broken. She was just a kid who wanted to live, but she wasn't given that option. None of the kids were. The parents were psychotic, but none of those beautiful children deserved their fate!

Magda wrote Harald Quando a letter from the bunker. In it, she said any life that would come for her children after the fall of the third Reich would never be good enough for them, and that she was going to give her children's lives the only honorable end for a 'national socialist life.'. Based on the witness reports and pictures showing several bruises it's indeed quite likely that she fought back when they injected her with morphine.
Her jaw was broken and her lower lip was cut. It's assumed that this also happened during the same fight, not as a result of the pill crushing between the teeth.
The poor girl died at the hands of her own, insane mother, who had refused several offers to take the children to a safe place.
The concern about the Russian brutality was justified, but the Russians would not have recognized any of the children if they were living somewhere far away from Berlin under a false name.

Yes well, of course, life would have been extremely unpleasant for her and the poison dwarf she was married to once the war was over, so she was in some respects right when she wrote to her son that their lovely life was ruined! And it's true those six beautiful children she murdered would have had a heavy burden to bear, having those two as parents, but with the possible exception of Gudrun Himmler, most of the other Nazi leader's children managed very well. Frankly, if you look at photos of Magda, she is the most dissatisfied looking woman you ever saw in your life, she always appears to have a complaint on her lips (a whinge), and she had a fair amount to complain about, married to him! However, the photo of those dead children in the Chancellery gardens is, for me, one of the most haunting photos of the war - and I wish I could believe the stupid, vain woman has been rotting in hell ever since she killed them!

Every time that I hear and/or see anything about the Goebbels kids, I just wanna cry. This story has haunted me ever since I heard about it.
Those kids were/are adorable, and honestly, they were (if you put aside the parents’ political affiliation for a few moments and focused on their physical features) a beautiful family, and in many of their photos, they look like any other “normal” family of that time period, they look all happy and healthy. Goebbels himself actually wasn’t that bad looking, TBH, and neither was Magda.
How could a mom do this to her own children? How could you take away the lives that you were responsible for bringing into the world? How can someone be so fucking brainwashed and detached from reality that they choose to kill their own kids and delude themselves into thinking that it is better for them, just for the sake of some stupid political ideology? Those are some of the (many) questions that have plagued me since I first found out about it from a RUclips video.
These poor kids had absolutely NOTHING to do with what their parents did or stood for. They were just innocent kids who had no control over who they were related to, and they didn’t know what their dad did for a living up until the end. Those kids were also victims of a horrible horrible regime, and there were all too many like them out there back then.
There is a lot of footage of those kids online, in their day to day lives, showing off their personalities and them just being innocent kids. I just wanna cry when I see those kids in the videos.
Magda also had a kid from a previous marriage named Harald. Harald was only 23 and a prisoner of war when his younger half siblings were murdered. As a 25 year old older sister myself, I cannot imagine being that age and being a POW, nevertheless finding out that your siblings are dead, and your own mom may or may not be responsible for it. I would be plagued by rage, trauma and guilt for the rest of my life, for not being there for my siblings and then for my own mom to be partially behind it. My mom herself is a loving, kind lady and she would never EVER do this kind of thing.
Because of what their mom did, the siblings were cheated out of growing up or having a future, all because of some stupid regime. Because of that, Helga will forever be 12 years old, Hildebrandt “Hilde” will forever be 11 years old, Helmut will forever be 9 years old, Holdine “Holde” will forever be 8 years old, Hedwig “Hedda” will forever be 6 years old, and little Heidrun “Heide” will forever be 4 years old. Harald died on September 22nd, 1967 (he was born on November 1st, 1921), so he will be forever 45 years old. He at least got to grow up and have a family compared to his siblings.
    RIP to them all.
I will never understand this. At all. And likely never will.

I understand exactly what Magda Goebbels was saying. They would have suffered physically at the hands of the Russians, and emotionally and mentally at the hands of the British and the Americans. Just because of who their mother and their father were. It's really sad, but it's true.

Evil sure but she was wise in her words to her son n her decision for killing the children. She knows evil exists she saw it first hand n knew what awaited her children bc of what their party did..can't hate the lady for being solid in her decisions..

Ironically she feared the brutality of the Soviets, but it was the Nazi themselves that invaded the USSR first and committed many brutalities against the Soviet people, so of course the Soviet soldiers do the same
