Learning a lot from these for my group about to embark on Hybrid meetings. Tks Markus. We will be using a projector that has front or rear projection modes, also keystone adjustment to eliminate image distortion when set high up or low down.

I'm sure it will work great!

Thank you for this content. I am doing enterprise company ZOOM HYBRID meetings and something always goes wrong.

I'm sure you'll get the setup to a great place soon! You can do a lot with very basic hardware.

Definitetly prefer the layout where the screen is to the right or the left of the speaker, but not as compact as shown. Prefer the screen to be at 45 degrees with the table

If you have the space, that 45 degree setup sounds like a great solution!

If you use a big screen LCD tv with HDMI connection in the compact layout, that would solve the lighting problem. What if the DSLR camera can be placed across the speaker at the other end of the table or floor (with zoom lens)?

    •  3 года назад +1

Yes a TV would be a great choice!
The camera can of course be moved. The reason why I keep it close to my laptop is really that the cable I use isn't too long. Plus I like to sit near the laptop and adjust the camera during the meeting, for different height speakers in particular.

Thanks We used the compact layout to run a couple of meetings, they went very well. I think the compact makes less impact on the speaker compared to the split as the speakers have practiced speaking to the computer closely for a long time. We now know that we have to engage with two groups of the audience to stay in eye contact: the onsite members and the virtual ones. It's just a new eye contact skill that we all need to exercise.
The computer staying far away is really a big drawback. It causes more inconvenience than it brings.
A quick question. In the demo picture of on-table devices. The cell phone is to capture the onsite audience, right? If so its screen should face the audience, rather than its backside. Your picture seems to show that it's on camera mode, not zoom mode. I ran this mode a couple of times so I am pretty sure the laptop and cell phone were in a back-to-back position. Is it right?
    Thank you!

Indeed the phone is capturing the audience. And it is running Zoom. But even within Zoom, you can use either the selfie camera or the main camera, and I'm using the main camera in my setup. I've also put my own video full screen on the phone, that's why it doesn't look like Zoom.

Thank you! I just realize that we can switch the camera. I don't really use cell phone for zoom meetings until recently starting the hybrid. Your insights are highly appreciated.

I would like to see a layout where a webcam is mounted on top of the TV to see the room and teacher. The speaker from the TV would be loud enough for the room while a lapel microphone or stationary microphone would round of the equipment.

    •  3 года назад

That would probably work really well! In many aspects that would be similar to the split layout, right? Where the presenter faces the screen.

This is great we are a charity which supports suffers who may not be well enough to come to a face to face meeting. We have received a grant to buy equipment and need a cost effective bundle we can roll out through 10 support groups. I will check out your equipment info
