- Dan and I were a little mixed on picking this place based on the online reviews. We kinda figured it could go either way. And before we even walked into the lobby, we had an feeling which way it was going to go :)

The blood stains on the wall by the bathroom door and the condition of the pillows may have been caused by a murder that took place there 6 years ago

This brings to mind the Howard Johnson and the Inn At The Peachtress. Amazing how many hotels overlook the simple things!
This place was a Sleep Inn when it was built. Sadly it doesn't look rundown on Street view or line. I hate it when Hotels try to renovate rooms but the rooms still look dumpy after the renovation. Did you ask for a new room?

For the record, that wasn't chewing tobacco... that was DELICIOUS Jack Link's Teriyaki Beef Jerky in a (plastic) tin for hikers. Still, that room COULD be so nice but it's SOOOO filthy!! YUCK!

Yep. Yet another in a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG list of reasons I don't stay at Days Inn. Grungy outside and inside. I'd be sleeping on the street before I put my body in one of those beds.

I wouldn't let my dog stay there these days. My cousin's wife stayed there and they came back in the morning as they had forgotten a phone. They caught the van driver in her underwear. I will not specify what he was doing as was pretty inappropriate.

You two should call the manager and request a different room if they have one. If they do not, get a refund and go to a different hotel.

I live in Blue Springs and I feel bad for you that this happened.
Day's Inns had their heyday back in the 70's when new. Some had a little restaurant attached - some sold gas as well. The best one I ever stayed at was in Daytona Beach - inland near the race track. Cinder block walls - pure solitude and a really cold AC unit. In today's world I will not step foot in any Days Inn - I'd rather sleep in my truck. I have coined a name that fit's........Dirty Days.
I honestly couldn't have slept there. Too many mystery stains.
This place could use a lot of help! Comparable (if this was the case with 3 more rooms) to the Inn at Peachtrees in Atlanta! Also, nice to see SchindlerHaughton again! When will he upload again?
I was not expecting the tobacco behind the nightstand. This place looked like it was falling apart.

It's definently a nice modern hotel, but doesn't pass the cleanliness department, so trashy and unacceptable.

I often get so frustrated with Hotel owners minutes before checkout Calling Or Standing @ my door banging / YELLING "You've got five minutes to vacate or we're going to charge you for another night"

Definately a lot better options to stay in Blue Springs besides this one. I've driven past this hotel on I-70 and even I could tell it looked a little dumpy.
Wow. I got to say, this probably the most fun I've seen you have picking apart a terrible hotel since Howard Johnson in Virginia Beach. I don't recall the last time you found hairs on the bed and it almost seemed like you were somewhat enjoying yourself. I'm not saying it's fun to find hairs on a bed, but it almost seemed like you were having fun seeing what this place had to offer for negatives.

What was the story with the exterior tarp?
Not as bad as some other Days Inns, but still dumpy, and still, typical Inn that has seen better Days!!!! This is why I stick with Marriott, Hilton and Starwood!!! It's a shame you can't afford places like that. :( Not trying to brag or offend you, your reviews are hilarious!!!!

Floridian Elevators there isn't a thing wrong with staying at properties like this. When you are older and have a job you'll understand that sometimes you don't wanna spend all that money for a nights sleep.
tjs468 Yeah. I habe mainky always stayed in nicer places being my Mom is a big Marriott Rewards Elite Platinum Member, so generally we just use points. However, I have stayed in a few crappy motels. Yes, they may be cheap, but you get what you pay for and if your cheap, you will likely be in a scary and filthy place with hookers, drugs, rude staff etc. I personally believe you should pay just a little more to stay in a nicer hotel, but if you find a cheap place with good review average of 4.0 or higher, than by all means, book it!
Floridian Elevators what I am trying to get at is I think your comment questioning Dan's financial choices by saying it's a shame he can't afford better isn't appropriate.
