Jane is simply brilliant... a brilliant vocalist, performer, writer, interpeter and musician. Such integrity in her writing and music... I have been following her career since 1984, and have seen her live four times now :) I have the utmost respect for her.
I grew up in Toronto - Jane was living in the beaches at the time (?). I look you up from over in North England. Great stuff! That was a long time ago! Glad to see her still doing it.
This video perfectly captures the essence of this extraordinary song. I saw Jane on 5/14 in Toronto and she played this first. Now only if many of the "artists" making major bank (listening, Beyonce?) now could have this much care and conviction to their music they may actually be listenable. I'd rather listen to Jane any time.
Hi Jane, I really Love❤️ Two of your songs One more colour & Mimi on the beach That's why I know your talented because of these two songs they have depth and heart flow I Love you for that! - Sean 🇨🇦
This is also one of my fave songs by her. Thanks for posting it. I didn't know I'd find anything of her on youtube. Her songs are beautiful. I've seen her live about 5-6 times. I even bought a set of glasses from her.hehe.
I've been head over heels for Jane since 1985. For my money, she's the best female vocalist I can think of. I'd say Karen Carpenter's voice was on par with Jane's as far as purity and technical excellence, but I like Jane's music *much* more :)
hi there - jane siberry here. i was looking my video for this song and see you have it on your site. thanks for the enthusiasm! i would like to put it on my site, too, and wondered if i could get you to dropbox it to me somehow? i don't know how to download from here. i look forward to your response. jane siberry
jane is nice to listen to because she sings from her connetion to earth, animals and people. that's her only trick. mostly, singers hide that connection in the name of authenticity. and they're proved wrong, obviously.
This is a great, incredibly arty video. But something is wrong with the lyrics. Jane Siberry doesn't display enough distance towards the man she's talking to. We feel her resentment, her contempt towards him. If he's such a turd, why bother making a big scene of his loss? The proper attitude would rather be stone-cold depiction and analysis, a bit like Sarah McLachlan does, with similar subject-matter, in "Vox" or "Building a Mystery". But, heck, this is still an AWESOME video

Songs don't get much more profound and beautiful than this.
beautiful song. Sad memories. But this is life, you know?! :) Tender melancholy...

In 4 weeks I will see Jane with friends in an imitate hall in a tiny BC village on a beautiful mountain lake. The intense emotions that will rise.

Hi Jane, did you ever get a response to this?
hi! i love you, jane. thank you for being exactly who are you.
Chants of a post femme psyche. When all the goddesses have abandoned you to sterile, to white. Vespers line the inner walls. Such amazing stuff!!

What beauty.
Pure magic
I just love her sad and shaky voice.. that early Siberry stuff is so nice
son contados los genios que hacen esto, una de ellas es Jane.
Perfection
I miss this so much. She's not like this anymore; I wish she were.
Better late than never she is awesome, yay Jane!
"...you can't get it from yourself..."
I've appreciated Jane's art for over 20 years, and still can't get over her talent!
She is a Goddess!
THis is a debate I can approve of!!!

wow. truth.
that is how it is.
@pacep: Thanks for the upload, but it drives me NUTS that you missed the very first word. Any way you can do a re-upload? Every second counts. ; )
Well, that shows me that you're sensitive.
@tadpole3535 Well said!

Because love is illogic. Our heart is never as clear-cut as our mind.
LOL "Goddess" ??? LOL
She is NOT God.
Yes she is a good artist, but not a God.
