Dont think there is a slide in it, but all the same, this should be the go to solo for any new guitarist looking to move on from strummed chords to single note playing.
@@kriso4447 agree, but you can use slide instead of bend in the last portion, where you go from E to F# (before ending with E-D-C#-A). Sounds quite nice as well
@@stefantatic4836 very true. When I was a beginner I often used slides in place of bends. Even after 7 years of playing, consistently accurate bends require a lot of focused practice. Learning the licks and solos of Sultans Of Swing did more to improve my lead playing than anything else I've ever done. That one song is a guitar masterclass for rhythm, lead, and just general understanding of the relationship between notes and the chords they are played over. A full guitar course wrapped up in one great song.

I hear ya, I mean yeah it can work like that, just typically any group i've played with that has had 1 guy writing the majority of the shit when you have 2-3 equally dedicated people had always turned out a failure. I couldn't imagine a band as successful and open as the Chili Peppers working that way. But honestly where did you get that information? I can't find any reliable source saying that, or even an unreliable source.
Where did you get that John wrote almost every song? The guitar parts maybe, but never in my life have I heard that he wrote everything. I dunno if you've ever been in a band, but usually the band writes the majority of the music, not 1 person. John was great with the Peppers tho, and Sabbath is great, just not so sure about what you said as far as John writing everything
Ryan Mackey Anthony writes lyrics, flea writes bass, John wrote guitar and I assume josh writes guitar and either flea or chad writes percussion (I think).
