The southwest of the island really got the hurricane force winds while the rest of the island mostly got tropical storm force winds. Just because the corporate area and much of the east didn't really feel the full effects doesn't mean St. Elizabeth and Manchester haven't been devastated.

Beryl passed Grand Cayman at 5:30am this Thursday morning, about 60 miles south of us, as a Cat 3. We did not lose power or water, not much damage, thankfully. The sea on Seven Mile Beach looked like glass. It was so smooth, but no, she passed us at 10:30am. The waves were starting to build, and a bit of rain. Thinking of the others who were deeply affected. Also, us locals call it CAYmaaaannnn, not CayMENS.
