I am consistently impressed with the ease in which you say these very difficult and complicated dino names! As a voice-over artist myself, I know the time that it takes to ensure you're saying a word correctly and with confidence. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much! I'm surprised I was able to get through these too tbh haha. I do have a funny little cut blooper when I was trying to say Rhamphorhynchus for the first time though lol.
The dinosaur I’ve wanted to see added to the game is Atlasaurus, a Brachiosaurid from Middle Jurassic Morocco. With only one official sauropod in the game, I feel they’re underrepresented. Atlasaurus is also really cool because its proportions are bizarre with a relatively short neck and long legs, Molina-Perez in his book “Dinosaurs: Facts and Figures” estimated that Atlasaurus was one of the fastest sauropods do to its odd proportions. It would be only about as long from nose to tail tip as the Spinosaurus in-game. PoT already likes to use lesser known dinosaurs for their roster (Anodontosaurus, Latenivenatrix, Kaiwhekea, etc) so Atlasaurus would slot well with the rest.
Mapu, Giga, and Tyrannotitan are all so similar to one another though. I'd be happy to have any of those though. I would like Carcharodontosaurus the most.
IF they really are going to add a another large apex for the mystery dino, like either Giganotosaurus or Mapusaurus, it would make sense for them to add at least 1 large sauropod into the game, likely a titanosaur, as a surprise dino. Aside from Argentinosaurus (which I have seen a mod for on at least 1 of the community servers), there are still several others comparable to Argentinosaurus that could could fill a giant sauropod niche - ie: Alamosaurus, Patagotitan, Dreadnoughtus, Puertasaurus, or Futalognkosaurus. They could also add another sauropod to fill the size gap between Amargasaurus and a giant titanosaur, and it's not like that's a short list of potential candidates to choose from the between 10 - 30 meter size range, whether it's Camarasaurus, Shunosaurus, Diplodocus, Notocolossus, Aegyptosaurus, Barosaurus, Dinheirosaurus (Portuguese Supersaurus), etc. I'm actually really surprised that Amargasaurus is the only Sauropod we've seen on the roster at all, thus far? Also, I honestly feel like the addition of the Miragaia might be a little redundant next to both the Stegosaurus and Kentrosaurus in both aesthetics and likely abilities. I could see them swapping out Miragaia with a Nodosaur Ankylosaur (ie: Gastonia?) as a little bit of a contrast or counterbalance to Anodontosaurus. And that reminds me of seeing some people wishing/asking for Albertosaurus to be added, when you can go with a speed build for the Daspletosaurus, and you can effectively "evolve" it into what would functionally be an Albertosaurus.
I remember the devs saying something about sauropods just being too big to put in the game and balance properly? I don't quite remember but it was something along those lines. Which is why we only have 1 very small sauropod, the Amarga. As for Miragaia we're definitely getting it. It was funded by a backer during the Indiegogo so it won't be changing. :P I also feel a lot of the playables are just... copies of each other but hopefully with the combat update they will get more fleshed out and feel more unique other than just "little trike", "medium trike", "big trike" lol.
@@arivander some fair points, but they could balance it via metabolism rates (slowing the rate at which food and water drain), and just reduced speed, like having running just marginally faster than trot, and trot just marginally faster than basic/slow walking. The tail attacks could cause light damage with stun. Any sort of head but or bite attacks would be the weakest attack for any sauropod (aside from Amarga, with those spines on its neck). The most devastating attack for any sauropod would be a stomp or kick from its legs. But to balance those attacks, the attack speed would have to be fairly reduced for their size (like a kick could have a 5 second cooldown, a stomp could be 30 seconds, plus a high stamina cost). Basically any hit from a sauropod’s legs will be brutal for even large apex theropods (risking death in 2-3 kicks), but the a long cool down for even a kick could allow for an apex to have a chance to dart in an land a hit, before the cooldown ends and risks getting destroyed by a kick. But a stomp could probably be a 1 shot kill against even an adult rex, Spino, eotrike, bars, or ano. And speaking of Anodontosaurus again, it’s arguably still the most unbalanced animal in the entire game, where I’ve been rundown by Anos on multiple encounters whether as a rex or Allosaurus, and they nail me with a charged bone snake attack after having chased me down across a valley , hills or large fields, or across rivers and ponds. The devs still need to significantly adjust its movement speed and/stamina, because it’s ridiculous that a large Ankylosaur can out run/pace/swim a T. rex and most other animals and still have the stamina for delivering devastating bone snaps again and again, on top of its armored hide. In a sense, the Ano is nearly a “god mode” character that dominates every encounter as more of a predator than the actual carnivores in the game. If the devs can actually fix the Ano, then they can certainly add more and well balanced sauropods (even large ones) as playable characters in the game. Or include them as ambient AI animals as a challenge for carnivores to attempt to tackle.
The mystery creature isn’t giga, would probably be mapusaurus since they are basically the same animal, also fits in line with POT devs adding a less known creature then making it basically the same as it’s more well known counter part
Yea but you gotta think, it's not the POT devs' choice aside from a few minor restrictions they put in place. It's up to the backer who bought the creature, which is why we have the popular T. Rex and such. :P That's why I'm thinking Giga cause it's just so popular but we'll see! (:
Hey ari great work as always!appreciate you covering what you did in this video, I’m definitely excited for the new Dino’s coming to the game especially the aquatic creatures since playing an aquatic right now is basically just swimming simulator 2023, I would love to see them do something interesting with leedsicsthys osteoderms on its body, maybe different subspecies could be more or less armored in different spots something like that
the mirigaia probs will have the rattle spikes ability like alot of other herbivores but it would be cool to have it use a more unique ability, something special to it otherwise it'd prooobably just be a bigger kentro
Interesting. So they was going to make it Torvosaurus but changed it to be a mystery. Also on the note of Torvosaurus, Torvosaurus was originally going to be part of the original roster but was changed to Allosaurus due to it being more popular and stated that they can add Torvosaurus later. As for the mystery dinosaur, my hope is that it is a nodosaur like Borealpelta, Edmontonia, or Denversaurus. I know that nodosaurs get compared to ankylosaurs and we already have an ankylosaur in the form of Anodontosaurus but a nodosaur would be interesting to have being more of a bleed focused tank that inflicts bleed on its attacker when it is hit and when it hits back. This would force carnivore players to strategize on what they want to do fighting a nodosaur. As for the possible surprise dinosaur, I’m pretty much open to what it could be. We will have to wait and see what they come up with.
In all honesty I think the mystery Dino is going to be a dinosaur that the mod Community has not created as of yet and for the surprise dino who knows but I would love to see an apex Style sauropod
I don't think it would be saurophaganax because PoT allo is heavily based on saurophaganax and this makes sense because they are very close relatives and according to some paleontologists saurophaganax is just another species of allosaurus

Also i think there is a high chance that they will add one of the big Carcharodontosaurid into the game, maybe to balance with the Rex as right now Rex is the strongest land apex predator in the game, spino is semi aquatic so it not count. Also look at other Dinosaur games we could see that there's always a big Carcharodontosaurid to be the counter of the T.rex, The isle have the Giga, Beast of Bermuda have the Acro, so i think maybe Path of Titans will also follow this path, use a Carcharodontosaurid to counter the Rex, my guess is they will go with either Mapusaurus or Carcharodontosaurus 🤔
