Cauley-Stein is a player who is both extremely gifted from a measurements standpoint, but also in terms of athleticism ... At the Kentucky Combine he measured 7’.25’’ in shoes, with a 7’2’’ wingspan, and a great 9’2’’ standing reach ... He also is extremely nimble, and an explosive and quick leaper ... Willie also has tremendous defensive abilities, excelling at hedging on pick and rolls, as well as protecting the rim ... He’s seen a dip in shot blocking numbers due to his use as a pick and roll defender, and Karl Anthony Towns being used as the primary paint enforcer, but as a sophomore WCS blocked 2.9 shots per game as Kentucky’s primary rim protector.

Kentucky is probably better, but Duke has RJ Barrett, Zion, Kyrie, Redick, and Plumlee.

Seeing basketball with no fans makes me look at the score and time in the game type of dunk the impact the crowd truly has on the game....

Agree I live in Wisconsin, been a cat fan since Cal arrived. I’m not a Wisconsin fan in any sport.
How they lost to a team like Wisconsin is beyond me. Wisconsin is sound fundamental, that it. There wasn’t 1 single player better that Townes , booker, etc. makes me sick still. Cal coaching was very questionable

@@miamicaneno1Wisconsin was a little better than you’re giving them credit for. Decker, Kaminsky, Hayes and Dukan all spent time in the league. They were 36-4 and 2 of those losses were to the eventual national champs.
Kentucky shouldn’t have lost that game. I agree with that. But that Wisky team was an all timer in their own rights. I think at that time they were the most efficient scoring offensive team in nearly 20 years.
They just didn’t make a lot of mistakes. They were also one of the few teams that had the size to matchup with UK. They had 5 guys on the floor that could all shoot, handle and pass.
As far as why we lost. Well…a lot of it is on Cal. He got tight and played not to lose down the stretch. The players felt that imo, and also tightened up. We were afraid to do anything with the ball until we absolutely had to and it resulted in 3 shot clock violations.
We took 5 throws against a sagging man to man. Wisconsin just wanted to keep KAT from beating them like he did Notre Dame. We were 3-5 from 3 and one of the missed was Aaron Harrison’s meaningless heave at the buzzer. They took away KAT and Cal should have told them to let it fly.
Ulis probably should have played more over Booker and we should have put the ball in his hands. Booker was a complete non factor in that game. Ulis was playing well.
May have been a good idea to try Lyles over Willie too because Willie was awful all game and Decker was killing him.
But as we’ve seen over these last several years, substitutions and in game line up adjustments are not Cal’s forte.
      /book
