This video breaks my heart. I am from the northern Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, India. The small state is known to produce soldiers as almost every home there has AT LEAST one soldier serving the country. Even though it is such a small state, it still has 2 brilliant regiments The Kumaon regiment and Garhwal rifles known for their bravery and valor during all the wars Indian army has fought. Most of my childhood friends are serving in the military and why I said the video breaks my heart because, I have lost 3 of my very close friends who were commandos. After going through all this tough training, they served the country and lost their lives in action. All three of them were below 26 yrs of age. One of my friends who was an NSG commando, and a part of the NSG team during the 26/11 attacks, is now paralyzed and can't go anywhere without his wheel chair. He got several shots in his spine while fighting against insurgents in the North East India in 2013. I still remember when Kargil war was going on. While I was preparing for my Master's entrance exam in college, 28 kids from my school, most of them my batchmates in highschool, lost their lives in Kargil. That thought still haunts me and sends shivers down my spine. We, in the small town of Uttarakhand used to receive truck loads of bodies every week during Kargil war. While I do feel sad, I also feel proud of my martyred buddies and the Indian army. Every day I salute those who laid down their lives just to keep us safe. We as a nation shall always remain indebted to our brave men who made the supreme sacrifice. Jai Hind.
@@arihant1392 Every year British army selects thousands of gurkhas from Nepal. British were mighty impressed with Nepalese soldier back in the colonial days when they tried to take over Nepal but couldn't succeed so they signed a treaty with Nepalese government.
Facts pls, Gorkhas were clan of people (Gurung's, Thapa's, Limbu's, etc) who conquered and formed Gorkhaland, pre Nepal, lived all along the Himalayan ranges and across currently India, Nepal, etc. So you can find Gorkhas in many places. Nepal is the only place where You can find Gorkhas fighting in other armies. We Indian Gorkhas only serve in the Indian army, retirees may serve as consultants, but very rare. Many other clans join in as gorkhas in nepal but are not the original gorkhas families who fought under the India banner for brits during ww1 and ww2 are in both in India and Nepal. My family military history goes 5 or 6 gen i think, since ww1 and ww2. My family from Nepal served in uk during Falkland wars and every conflict since. So Gorkhas can be found in all South Asia but only Nepal exports them as fighting men not merc, merc have no allegiance, ask a gorkha to betray the queen lol, if you survive you will have your answer.

This is a selection process. Those who make it till the end will be selected in the Commando unit. Whichever it is. 3 to 4 years of training after that.
Nathan, before you are even considered for the severely tortuous Commando/Special Forces training, you have to go through the Army training which in itself is very very demanding...and very few clear that also. Only Army men are considered for Commando training. So, you can enroll in the US Army training first and see how far you can go!! 😁
