So I just bought this shoe and instantly set new PRs for the half mile, 1km, I mile and then I slowed down and ran a 24 min 5k with minimal effort. I could have PRed the 5k too but I have a race tomorrow and don't want to go too hard.
Came across these shoes today in the mall. I had every intention on getting New Balance foam, but I put my feet in these shoes & I knew we belonged together. Looking forward to my 1st run with them on. Very comfortable.
I play basketball, cricket and i am quite heavy too. I have some problems with my ankles as they get twisted quite often. What shoes should i opt for , for good cushioning and reliability?
From doing research online, it is recommended to have something that's cushioned, but still stable enough to protect you from injuries. The Winflo 8 is actually a decent option for you as the shoe is quite stable and flat against the ground, but also cushioned and responsive to help with impact reduction. You can also look at the Pegasus 38/39 or the Renew Ride 3 as other reliable options. For basketball and cricket, I'd strongly suggest you get shoes that are specific to those sports for best performance and also to protect yourself from injuries. Hope that helps!
It's always tricky for me to recommend shoes based on under/over-pronation, primarily because I think a medical professional will have the best recommendations on which type of shoes to get. With that said, this is a very helpful article from Solereview that might help with making a decision (+ a few recommendations): www.solereview.com/best-running-shoes-for-supination-or-underpronation/ Hope that helps!
Hey! I bought them and they are exceptionally comfortable for every day use (I don´t run). The foam feels beautiful. Despite that, I have a problem: My left foot is perfect but the right flattens and doesnt feel comfortable to use. That has never happened to me with other shoes and I dont have flat feet. Has it ever happened to you while using the Winflo 8 or with other Nike shoes? Thanks man, I used your videos for reference and they helped a lot
Sorry to hear you're experiencing this! It's definitely happened, primarily when I'm breaking the shoes in, but it tends to go away after some time. It could be potential defect with the shoe's midsole/insole not properly maintaining its shape, but it's rare to hear about those type of issues. I'd recommend trying them out for a bit more time, maybe the shoe just needs to adjusts a bit more to your right foot, but if it continues and you're still within time to return/exchange them then you can proceed with that. Otherwise, it wouldn't hurt to see a foot doctor to make sure it's nothing serious that the shoe could simply be amplifying. Hope that helps!
@@Lalthansanga84 Im sorry you are having the same problem as me. Its very uncomfortable and its a pitty since these are not cheap shoes...Now I cant get a refund since a lot of time has passed since. Will take this feeling into account when renewing them.
Awesome review. I just picked up a pair as a new walking shoe are they're awesome! I'm a bigger guy, 6'1 265, and they support my big butt great. I'm already looking into picking up a second pair. Keep up the great work!
You say they are awesome? I've read alot of reviews saying it lacks cushion And is one of the worst runners, I'm also a Big Guy and I use The Nike pegasus,
@@Carltonwanks I have the Pagasus 37s and they're great. They're also a higher end shoe than the Winflo 8s. I think for everyday walking or light running, the Winflo 8s are solid. You can usually find them on sale for around $65 which is a great price for these shoes.
The upper is decent in person, but definitely looks more like an obsidian color under the sun! Once they’re on-feet, the black tones look a little better, but the combination of the 2 layers is what creates that effect. Hope that helps!
There are 2 units on this one, a front one and a heel one. As far as I’m aware and according to research I did for the Winflo 7, the front one has a bit more pressure. Hope that helps and thanks for the comment!
Between Winflo 8 for $50 vs Pegasus 38 for $100 vs Winflo 9 for $52, which would you recommend? I do know Pegasus 38 is a more all rounder shoe, which is what I am seeking - daily gym use, twice a week 3K-5K runs and seldom sports or hiking activities. Is Winflo 8 a fine choice for this purpose over spending the $100 on Pegasus 38? Would really appreciate your input to help me with my purchase decision.
Those are great prices for all three shoes! I personally am biased towards the Pegasus 38 because it has been such a great shoe from the moment I got it. It's well worth the original retail price because it's a great running shoe, but it can also work for the gym, and it looks great and is comfortable when wearing casually. Also, make sure that there are no other places that have it for cheaper, because I came across a few stores here in the US that had it for less than $100. The Winflo 8 would be the closest one when it comes to use at the gym and for other types of performance, but the midsole hasn't been my favorite for this. The fit and look also wouldn't be my first choice for wearing casually, especially because this is a bit more narrow than the Pegasus 38. The Winflo 9 is the definitely in 3rd place for me. It's a great running shoe, but it's not great for the gym/training. It can get the job done to wear casually, but I would choose one of the other 2 before it. Hope that helps!
Overall, they give you a more natural stride, but by doing that they give up a bit of support throughout the shoe. If you can, definitely try them out first, but I think I would recommend something with a bit more “structure” if support is your priority.
Hello i buy the winflo 8 . butI measure that the soles are 5mm shorter at the same size lenght (28,5cm) as my winflo 7. how is that possible? is it a foult from nike? the shoes are also tighter than the winflo 7. it looks like it's a size smaller than it says on the label
I wanna ask regarding the durability of those Flywire's you think it'll last you long if your like gonna use the shoes for running like 4x a week wont it get pulled off by the laces? Great video btw.
Flywire tends to be very strong and durable on most shoes I’ve had, definitely be careful when pulling the laces, but you should be good for the most part. If you ever start running more times a week/more miles then I’d recommend looking at some other options, but for right now you should be fine!
Quick question. Nike Winflo 8 is listed as only having an air unit in the forefoot, but the midsole appears unchanged from the 7. Do you know for sure if the 8 still has a heel air unit? Thanks!
Winflo 8 kept the same 2 Air units as the Winflo 7! There is one at the heel and one at the forefoot, I believe Nike only mentioned the forefoot one on the website. Hope that helps!
I think that both of them would be great, but the Winflo 8 will be a little more cushioned and responsive. The shoe has a slightly softer foam and 2 Air Zoom units that allow for a smoother ride. The Quest 4 is a bit more stiff, which isn't bad, but it depend on what type of experience you're looking for. Hope that helps!
All three are great, but it really depends on what you’re looking for. Out of the three, the Winflo 8 is probably the one that is overall better for just about anyone. The midsole is stable and responsive, and the upper feels pretty durable. They do feel a little “chunky” compared the other 2, so that’s something to keep in mind. The Winflo 9 is going to be great if you prefer a softer midsole and decent responsiveness out of it. The upper hasn’t been my favorite, but it’s definitely thin and flexible. The Winflo 7 can get the job done, but it’s been my least favorite one when it comes to fit out of the three. Other than that, is very much the same midsole as the 8, but slightly more rigid. Hope that helps!
Ironic with me, I’m a runner but I got these for casual as imo I can’t run in Nikes bc I have flat feet but I must say I like the cushion and style it offers
The material used on the 8 definitely felt more durable than the one on the 7. It's a bit "layered" and it provides more structure to the shoe; it doesn't feel as breathable, though. Hope that helps!
@@PMBShoes thanks for sharing your thoughts. I went to to the store and i also found that the newer material on 8 looks more durable than the older mesh that it had.
They can work for the gym, but they wouldn't be my first option. These are definitely better for running, especially with all the features at the midsole that make them more responsive. Haven't tested them on the other ones, unfortunately. Hope that helps!
They are very similar, so it makes sense! Best way I can put it, the Winflo 8 is the "downgrade" from the Pegasus 38, simply because of the foam that it uses (React in the Pegasus 38 is a more premium foam). The Winflo 8, however, feels a bit snappier and responsive because of the 2 Air Zoom units, which the Pegasus 38 only has 1 at the forefoot. I would still choose the Pegasus 38 over the Winflo 8 simply because of versatility (I can use it for the gym or other types of training), though! Hope that helps!
It is breathable, primarily due to the thin mesh upper. There are, however, models above that provide a bit more breathability because of softer and/or thinner materials on the upper. Hope that helps!

Great question! Both of them are actually going to be very similar when it comes to features, so you wouldn't go wrong with either one. 2 options that I have used and would recommend, but it all depends on what you're looking for. - The Renew Run 2 was one of my favorite shoes to wear for longer shifts when I worked retail. The Renew is pretty soft and the overall shape of the shoe was great to walk around for the whole day. There is a bit of a curvature to it, however, so if you standing up for the majority of the time, it might not be the most convenient. - The Flex Run 2021 is another option that I've worn for long periods of time and it has been great. The shoe has a layer of extra soft cushioning that provides a very soft underfoot feeling. Also, it's a bit flatter than the Renew Run 2, so it works better for standing up, but it's still better for moving around. - An option worth noting, although it's more expensive than the other 2 at $120 USD, is the Pegasus 38. The shoes are amazing to use them for multiple activities, including for work. These are also better when it comes to standing up for a long time thanks to the React foam at the midsole. Hope that helps!
I unfortunately haven't had a chance to try the Zoom Rival Fly 3 yet (I have them scheduled for a video within the next few weeks). But I skimmed through a review online and it seems that they are very similar, except for a few features. The Winflo 8 has Zoom at the forefoot and heel, the Rival Fly 3 only has it at the forefoot. The Rival Fly 3 seems to be tailored for racing, where the Winflo 8 is more of a daily trainer (still unsure about this one, just an assumption based on pictures and the article I read) The Rival Fly also seems to ditch the Flywire cables and uses bands similar to the ones found on the Pegasus 38. Hope that helps!
Winflo 8! They are pretty comparable to the Renew Run 2, except the foam feels slightly more rigid, but the Zoom units help a lot with responsiveness. Hope that helps!
Hard to say, I think it all depends on the type of feeling you're looking for. The Winflo 8 uses Air Zoom technology partnered up with a more standard foam. The air units are great for responsiveness and cushioning. The Renew Run 2 does not have air units, but there is a strong focus on the foam. You can think of a slightly less soft version of React which also helps with cushioning. Both have a $90 USD retail price, so it all comes down to preference.
Unfortunately the only fact I found in my notes for the video is that these have a 10mm drop. I can’t measure them because I don’t have them with me, but I want to say a very rough estimate is 3-4 cm. Hope that helps!
