Finally !! A helmet review around the house. How does it do in the bath? And how comfortable is it to sleep in? Very important for an all around piece of kit. Thanks.
I just purchased mine from watching your great review a while back. Got the blue one with black and white on it, was 500 odd quid supposedly but picked it up for a bargain price of £295.00 The Glamster is really light, less bulky compared to my Shoei NXR2 I use and the others I tried for good measure in the shop. Love all the gizmos on it, vent and that flocking buzzard of a runt Pinlock, motherrucker thing took me ages to put in, then figured out to take the buzzard of the visor off to do it ffs! And like a proper P narse, I had blasted finger marks inbetween…. Trust me, I’m a pro at removing and replacing visors now, might get an illegal blue mirror visor, the helmet will look fab then! Took it for a blast a few times and I’m really pleased with it, really comfortable and I find my head more manoeuvrable. Gutted there were no Glamster stickers in my box, the pinlock instructions were in everything but English. The user booklet was finding written English spread across the booklet mixed in with 99 other languages. I saw no mention of the chin mesh in the manual, now I know what the hell it is now and where it fits lol. I swear every time I buy something, something is always pilfered out of the boxes by others lol. 👍🍻
@@porkscratchings5428 hey mate, I also have the nxr2, but love the look of the glamster, thinking of getting one. How does it compare to the nxr2? Thanks

Nice first look. I like the more retro design and am glad more companies are styling helmets like that. I wish the vents could close though but looks the modern tech in a classic look. I'll probably pick one up
Good review of a nice looking helmet. As a wearer of glasses, I’d be interested to know how well it can accommodate a pair of specs - both putting them on with the helmet and how practical it is when riding. Many thanks 👍
I’ve got this helmet and have Oakley Frogskins as glasses and they fit perfect with no issues, easy to get take on/off, comfortable with no pressure points
Hey! Love the review. What do you think about this Glamster vs the Rapide when it comes to road noise on a naked bike? I’m looking for something that can save my ears at highway speed (combined with some plugs). Thanks for the cool channel.
They are both very good, and of course, there are a lot of factors at play. I would say the Arai edged it in terms of quietness. The Rapide has more to the lining which helps with the noise isolation. Having said that, neither is a noisy helmet per se
I would like to see you fitting any kind of comm unit. Just doesn't look like a good fit for one, and not enough space for speakers in the side of the helmet. And I have decided I am going to buy one, beginning of May. When they get my XL size available in the web shops. I am more than certain it will look great on my R9T Roadster. ☻ Cheers Riders.
Useful review , own a qwest which makes me look like I'm doing a space mission so this be interesting to see in real life and try on . Good man . All best from Glasgow
Could you possibly create a side by side vid showing the dimensions/aesthetics of the Glamster and Rapide Neo (similar to how you compared it with the Ex Zero). This would be a huge benefit to folk toying between both 🙏👌
Also please show us if there are available CPB-1 tinted visors for the Glamster? Or if you know if a Photocromatic CPB-1 visor will be available in the future?
Tony I was just wondering about the mention of intermediate positions of the visor on the Glamster. I am about to order mine, but there's a couple of reviews which mention there are absolutely no in between positions to make this visor stay half way opened... Only fully closed or fully opened ? Is this true, there must be a cracked position at least ?
There are, but not that click into place like some helmets. If you pop the visor tab to open it, the visor sits just open to allow more ventiliation. If you adjust the side screws you can have it hold in almost any position, but that does make the visor 'stiffer' in action. There is definitely a cracked position and it remains like that until you physically snap the tab shut.
I thought I read you can ride in the UK but only for essential runs, no group rides, California has the same rules in effect, I'm in San Bernardino CA there is a stay at home mandate only essential runs food, gas, meds, etc, I ride my bike to the market (sometimes the long way around) but we don't have checkpoints, yet.
Yep essential riding only. Technically as RUclips is my only form of income at the moment, I could argue that riding is essential for me?! But you just have to be sensible at the moment. I’m doing all my shopping online, even with groceries. I am a registered NHS responder now, so I might have some jobs delivering meds in the next few weeks now that lockdown has been extended. No road checkpoints here, its just down to the police discretion at the moment. Most forces appear to be policing this fairly well, but over 3200 fines have been dished out.

If it helps the Glamster is better for intermediate oval head shapes and the Bell is rounder. I would say the Shoei measurements on their sizing share are accurate
Hi love your reviews, in a previous review you enthused about the ByCity retro helmet. I appreciate Shoei are a bigger name brand, is the Glamster worth twice the price in your opinion? Cheers Gary
Cheers Gary. It’s all about fit really. The Glamster has the advantage of taking a pinlock, which the ByCity doesn’t. But the ByCity is a cracking carbon helmet for the money
Have looked on Shoei's site/online and not seen any alternate visors for this, do you know of any (with tints etc)? Also you said this was fairly low profile, more or less than the Hedon Heroine? I saw your review of the latter and both are my current front runners for a new lid.
II doesn’t appear that there are any at the moment, but I’m sure it won’t be long. I’ve reviewed the Hedonist (open face) so can’t comment on the heroine. As full face helmets go this is pretty low profile yes
I looked to find out your head size couldn't see it. Your head looks to be the same sort of size as mine. Can you tell me what size the glamster was... Oh and you could have put the helmet on and sat in front of a desk fan , made brap brap noises so you could check the noise and airflow stats.😄 Loving your content btw.

I would tend to disagree somewhat, I haven’t been able to test the ventalation on the bike yet, but I don’t are why it would be a fail? There’s nothing wrong with the visor release it’s the same as pretty much any other Shoei? As for the name, yep it’s not great but it’s rather irrelevant.
Views from the Man Cave I'm not trollin' buddy. Shoei was responsible not that long for one of the single greatest motorcycle helmet innovations in recent memory: the Transition visor. Why there haven't been any other manufacturer to adopt this is beyond me. If I'm not mistaken, Shoei doesn't have this visor as an option for the Glamster but goes and puts mechanical screws instead of a quick release. As far as the vents, I live among true 4 seasons. To not be able to control proper chin vents is bs on a Shoei. I've ridden in Arai for the last 25 years and the new Arai retro seems to tick all the real rider expectations and not just the look. Except a damn Transition visor.
