N offense meant you can change the Headsail without disconnecting the old one. It prevents having to go back and forth to the cockpit and you never have a fully disconnected sail. Great boat! I’m a big fan!!!!!
Wow, Sampaguita is looking a bit more cluttered than when I had her!!! But, she’s also voyage a thousand times further. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Yeah clutter. Some of it worthwhile, some, not so much. I purge at every stop. The sail inventory is greater. I bought some new before I left. Plus, it gets more disarrayed as a passage goes on.
Seriously man, you're doing great. I know you're not looking for it (or maybe you are?) but with some slightly different titles i think you're channel would really take off. I had no idea you were crossing an ocean in a Flicka from the descriptions. I've always loved Flicka's. I had dreams of doing what you are but at 10 years older I'm just getting ready to go. My only goal is the Bahamas at this point. But i will be watching you, and I plan on mentioning you in my next video. 👍
Thanks man. Attention is a double edged sword. I'm just a fool in a tiny boat. Nothing to draw too much attention to. I'm not interested in competing for people's airtime. Just putting it out there. If it happens, it happens. Click bait can be a bit gross at times. Thanks again.
I sailed a Northern 25 across the north Atlantic. We often did 6 sail changes during the night. Today I ask why, when a furling system is so cheap. I had 2 fixed and parallel forestays. With a furler it is advised to have a removable forestay to use with a stormsail. Also, my boat was not as cluttered up as yours which makes you think, to live in such a mess its better to have a bigger boat, it's not as if a used one is more expensive.
Thanks for checking out the video and the input. I certainly won't win any smartest(or cleanest) man in the room awards. There's lots of must haves that I don't have. If you go to www sailingwithjosh.com, you can make a donation.
