I like how Piers sends Cenk away after dogging the conspiracy accusations, then immediately says “seems more than just negligence” when he’s in the clear. He goes right back to the bailey after hanging out in the motte

    • @peanutgallery4

No contradiction. Piers says it Seems to him to be malice rather than incompetence, while Cenk accuses him of claiming conspiracy. He does no such thing, even if you can argue he's leaning his listeners towards a certain view, it's literally just based on the true information he already went over. Conor gives a good explanation for incompetence in all these cases, but the
aligning of so many factors for the shooting to go the way it did is undeniably rare. And Conor wasn't there either. So I have no qualms with Piers saying it "seemed" malicious, but of course concluding nothing, because he doesn't have that much info

I'm sorry, but for secret service to be this incompetent IS ODD. In the minds of most normal people, in the modern day, the United States of supposed to have some of if not the best protection services in the form of the secret service. If their weren't anyone raising eyebrows at this, it would be a tacit admission they think the performance we saw in PA is to be expected.

@@ciege7486Such a goofy reply. You just lack intellectual honesty or experience actually thinking about a situation instead of living in an echo chamber where agreement is taken as truth.
You have no idea how security typically works. You and so many others are simply assuming that because something like this hasn't happened before, it's because security was absurdly good that it prevented something from happening.
Have you ever once seen a full detail analysis of a rally where nothing went wrong? Almost certainly not, so you can't even begin to pretend that you or anyone else pushing these conspiracies know what is typical or atypical.
You're comparing a tragic event to your imagination and guesswork. That's incredibly useless to do. If they do an investigation and show that this rally was unique to the 100 previous rallies where no roof within 1000 yards was ever unmanned, where no local police were ever left in charge of a region, where a suspicious suspect had never been lost track of and the speaker was prevented from going on stage... Then the conversation of it being 'odd' should take place.
Assuming these things is why people like you think 'common sense' isn't a red flag for being uneducated and useless.

This may sound very ugly, but when two parties are fighting tooth and nails for victory, rules of engagement become secondary. They effectively fight for their vision of country. For them its full blown war on words. And in war the only rule is to not lose. If youre a loser, you become a criminal shortly after.

I don't know about the part of the parents abandoning him part. But his mother ran like a day care or something which has other kids around his house growing up.
And the thing about the grandmother was that she became ill and the family was taking care of her while she was having health issues.
Him and Dr K talked about the dog thing. If I remember right, Dr K doesn't think destiny is sociopathic or doesn't have the ability to feel for other peoples suffering.
Because destiny showed growing up that he cares about people who are forced to grow up with less income and less financial ability to have more freedom and less problems.
It's just that destiny doesn't confide in many people or ask people for help, he enjoys having a stressful situation that he can navigate his way through. And he likes to learn from his mistakes.
But I wouldn't say he's a full blown psychopath or sociopath. He still shows that he can help others with things he doesn't need to to gain anything from. And many times he goes out of his way to make himself available to people who will be a taker and not a giver.
And I think what bothers destiny is when people put their insecurities on him. And want him to change something he's doing to make them feel more involved and getting more attention...
Personal diatribe nothing to do with destiny further...
I see myself as the same why. Where I am extremely giving with my time and things and would freely let people use a lot of my stuff and never expect compensation or a thank you or anything.
And if people come to me before a problem is too big and explain a situation while giving me time and the ability to decline or come up with a better plan. I am way less likely to be upset if there's some notice. And people can come up with a plan and follow a set plan.
But if my family calls me up randomly and says I need to go and do something for them at the drop of the hat. Then it causes problems if I have no ability to set a better plan or make time later or say I'm busy cuz I had my own plans. Then some people in my family would feel like I don't like them or that I don't want to be invited to go places.
But it's because they don't just keep things to be invitations to do stuff. And they don't talk to me about it until the day they want to do something. Where I'm ten times more likely to say No I'm not in the mood right now...

1:13:48 "...which would make you a liberal in a lot of circles and center left by a lot of definitions."
    True!
I've been thinking about which ideologies would be right or left in an unchanging sense, not in the goal post moving sense and I've narrowed it down like this:
    Far Right : Absolute Monarchy
    Center Right: Fascism
    Center Left: Liberalism
    Far Left: Communism
What makes someone gravitate towards one ideology over another depends on what their primary moral value is.
For the Far Right, it would be meritocracy.
For the Center Right, it would be racial purity.
For the Center Left, it would be individual liberty.
For the Far Left, it would be equality.
Asking someone which one of this things they value more will tell you a lot about their political views.
The American Right is full of liberals, which is a left wing ideology, and the American Left is full of communists.
It gets confusing because liberals (Center Left) rebranded themselves as "conservatives" and "libertarians" and are considered right wing because they are competing against communists (Far Left) who rebranded themselves as "progressives" and "woke".

    • @AKABattousai
      @AKABattousai 2 месяца назад

I use right and left to mean Traditional vs Progressive.
Those who go back further and want to preserve something so much that it becomes something which must be defended. Lean right wing. And they see threats as outside people who have no respect for their ways of life.
And then you have progressives who are more about setting new norms. And they perceive problems as coming from long standing institutions which they either want to change the goals of or they want to normalize new institutions.
So when I say I lean Right, I mean that I care about being practical, describing reality as close to a provable and repeatable model as possible.
Promoting personal responsibility for actions when people give you the most options to choose different actions.
Promoting and celebrating the nuclear family model. Strong personal communities that will help those around them with jobs, education, defense, etc.
Being financially secure with ways to invest in your own future. Having inherited family property.
Where left wing is usually in favor of open border policy, other family models that aren't the nuclear family. More socialized systems for finances and spending ability. Language that can change constantly. Blaming problems on rough environments. A want for the people to have more say in governments than the leaders. Etc.
I don't see it as bad for the left. but I can see where views on the left are less tested and less verifiable. They have more dreamers on the left who are more creative and color outside the lines.
And on the right you have those who continue in using traditions that no longer serve the best purpose and becomes outdated and obsolete or replaced by more accurate models for how we understand our reality.
To me you need a healthy balance of both. And on either end it can be more likely to be a bad thing to be on the extreme of either side.

Piers was absolutely playing into the conspiracy framework. Hell, the evidence is in the reactions of people who agree with him. He tries to be coy with him phrasing but the message his audience is taking away from it is exactly what Cenk (who I think is a loon) accused him of.
The comments from his supporters are wholly in the camp that this incident is way more than a tragic event and more likely planned or allowed to happen by they/them. So while Piers is trying to skirt around the words he's objectively saying he's very clear in his message.

For one Destiny has free will, his condemnation is not requisite on any conservatives positions.

So it's hilarious to see the same people who cheered that on be surprised now that he's being consistently socioathic lol. Anyway at least he's open about it, people like Dave Rubin who do the exact same thing but try to present themselves as some beacon of "civility" are far worse and more sinister.

Bad Logic chain... Your feelings or destinys feelings toward groups doesn't make your argument any weaker or stronger.
Trump making inflammatory statements justifies people getting upset and angry... It doesnt justify assassinations.
You are making the what was she wearing rhetoric to say some SA is justifiable. But replace SA with political killings outside of due process.

@@AntiTheBird Conor was the one who said "inflammatory statements" in the section I was listening to. Because he was saying he wanted to hear how Dave and company would respond to what destiny said.
The point is that there is no time when assassination attempts ought to be celebrated or promoted. That is the point of having the justice system the way it is and it's the point of always saying you have to win by election.
You can't say Trump was trying to coup the government when he never asked anyone to go against the constitution. And he was asking the individual state legislatures, federal courts and governors to follow their own state constitutions.
What part of that is being misunderstood. On Jan 6 they wanted the state electors who were representing their states to not certify the votes... On the basis that there was no way to conduct an audit on the process as it happened and on a belief that there was a colluded effort from the States to ignore that they were not following their own decided process of conducting their elections.
It's true that the courts did not force the states to overturn their results. But at that point, every ballot and every form of identifying the voter for verification was separated. And all they had was a pile of ballots to count and recount.
There was no way to have signature matching, ID matching, etc. part of the problem was that the courts would require to show that a harm had been committed. And that there was some malicious intent to cause the harm to a relevant party and that the requested solution was reasonable.
So the end goal was to get 10 states to contest the results. And to delay the process of agreeing to certify all the states. And if there was a disputes result that the states wouldn't certify...
Then the Constitutional process is that each State casts 1 vote for who becomes president. And because more states in the union are red states, they would have chosen Trump.
So it's no Coup unless anyone was actually delirious enough to think that a mob going into the capital was somehow going to decide for the rest of the Democratic free world that their guy didn't lose an election.

@@AKABattousai no, the end goal was to get Pence to verify the false electors and ignore the real electors and recertify Donal Trump as president, it was clearly layed out in the Eastman memo. Throwing it back to the states was the *backup plan* if that failed.
Presidents are immune from criminal liability so I’m not sure the point of bringing up the justice system.

Yes, you can absolutely say that Trump tried to coup the government when you look at his actions as a whole.
Electors are a holdover from the early days of the United States.
Before telephones, the internet, TV news, etc elections were very much a local affair. Once an election was over it was the job of the appointed elector to ride on horseback to the Congress to report the results of the election in their area.
This is part of the basis of the Electoral College. You don't technically vote for the President directly, but rather for the elector that in turn votes for the President on your behalf based on the results of that election.
Today the role still exists but it's more ceremonial than anything.
During the last Federal Election a group of Republicans who were dissatisfied with the results submitted fake paperwork claiming they were electors and attempted to go to Congress in their state to report a false result of the Presidential Election. They were explicitly directed to do this by Trump himself.
When Trump directed his followers to go down to the Capitol, he explicitly directed them to protest until the right electors were confirmed. He asked Mike Pence to confirm the fake electors. As the violence escalated, Trump and Giuliani made multiple calls to members of congress to ask them to accept the fake electors. This is all in the indictments - it’s public record.
The fake electors were caught immediately and turned away, and many of them are now facing perjury charges. The coup attempt didn’t work (this time), but it is still an attempt to coup the government, right there in black and white. And if this behavior is rewarded by allowing Trump to get back into the White House, why shouldn’t he try similar tactics again?

@@AntiTheBirdpresidents aren't immune from criminal liability. The supreme court fully explained that there's different types of actions that have different levels that could be called official acts that would have a presumptive immunity and article 2 constitution duties that are immune because they aren't criminal acts if it's a presidential duty that no other office is capable of carrying out legally.
They wanted Pence to declare that he didn't know which slate of electors was a correct and accurate election results causing the dispute.
And Pence dismissed the other people and took the slate that was chosen by the states.
Legally he could have accepted either slate. Because it had happened before with VPs accepting multiple slates.
It's still no coup attempt outside of the constitution. As the roles existed at the time.
The Congress and courts changed the role of the VP because they saw that a loophole existed that someone tried to implement.

He is on a show with 2 Republicans, after the Republican nominee got shot by a registered Republican voter, and Democrats are being blamed for it. The difference in the level of divisiveness in Trump's term Vs Biden's is night and day.
