  • Yin Yang Ba Pan Zhang - 阴阳八盘掌 - An Introduction - Eight Coiling Palms
    --General Information:
Yin Yang Ba Pan Zhang (八盘掌) or Yin Yang Eight Coling Palms ist generally considered to be a less known part of Dong Hai Chuans Bagua Zhang Branches. They themselfs claim that the art developed seperatly.
The Art eventually was taught by Dong Linmeng(also called Bi Dengxia) to Xue Yonghe, Li Zhenqing and Dong Hai Chuan. Li Zhenqing brought the art to his hometown in Hebei Province. He had a couple of students one of them was Liu Baozhen who was a expert of Chuo Jiao before. He later continued his studies under Dong Hai Chuan himself.
How far this is really true is hard to tell. From my personal opionion the art shares some similarities from what I have seen in Gong Baotian Bagua Zhang.
Which may or not may could hint at a deeper connection to Yinfu or maybe Dong Hais Chuans personal art himself.
    --Technical Aspects:
Ba Pan can have two meanings. First is Eight Coilings, the second is it can refer to the Eight Parts of the Body.
In practical aspects the style seems to build on a lot of standing postures at first and continues to Eight Big Postures, 64 Palms and 9 Palaces Methods, as well as Bagua Saber Method and the Double Headed Spear, which at least in theory is very much alike like the known Bagua Zhang.
    --Conclusion:
Nontheless I feel there needs more research to be done on Ba Pan Zhang and its methods to really understand its possible difference to other Bagua Methods.
I hope to provide more videos in the future.

I was taught this from my teachers teacher when I was passed up , Tyrone Jackson taught me this he learned from Dr Wu min Ahn . Now this is proof ! What I was taught and the forms are clear on distinction. I only showed this to a few students after I learned it many years ago dr. Wu told us that it is what is to be believed to be the birth of Bagua and the Guang Hua Shan system. When I caught up with jerry Allen Johnson at a spiritual reading. We were sitting next to each other and I said to him that I studied Bagua and Tcm. He then listen to me I also said I read your books and you mentioned about yi yang Papan ! As soon as I mentioned it he shut up and ignored me the rest of the time. Thanks for sharing!
