My issue with the spin-offs is mainly instead of getting the press-turn battle system/actual sequel we get: Dynasty Warriors Clone Tactical Game Dancing Game Keep the questionable story, give us that addictive turn-based press-turn battle system and it would be so bad.
I've never played SMT so I don't have context. Those school uniforms are fire though
Most smt games are standalone, so you don't gotta play the other ones to understand them.
@@sleepyshinx174 The only exceptions of that rule are SMT 1 and 2, and NES/Famicom Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei 1 and 2 games.

P5D is so bad it’s sad
If you want a game to cover, try SMT2 or 4. They have some of the best stories in the mainline games.
I think I'll try 4 then work my way back through the series
