Yay I'm so happy we got another book swap!! Love these videos! Im glad you finally read the house across the lake i was literally praying you would😅 that book threw me on a wild loop, glad to hear it did the same to you haha! Now im off to watch Ashlynn's video🫶🏻
We would absolutely love to see you guys read "The Only One Left" by Riley Sager together! Another super fun video! I really appreciate you balancing these amazing videos with your already super busy schedule. You both are so great to watch, and you're such rays of sunshine. Thank you!! 💛
@amypippenger2519 Great minds think alike! 💛 He is really great, and he's one of my auto-buy authors, too!! I think I've read all but 3 of his books, and none of them were below 4 stars 😊
Thank you so much!! This means so much! Ash and I are definitely going to read “The Only One Left” together. We’ve come up with a fun video idea for it already!
I never imagined I could enjoy watching someone else read a book, but I was wrong. Watching your expressions as you begin a new story and come across unexpected twists/plotlines until you reach the conclusion is so entertaining! haha. I feel gripped watching you read it, I then have to read it myself, of course. Thanks again for another brilliant video guys x
Thank you so much!!! It’s fun to give you all real time reactions instead of just being boring and sitting in front of a camera and telling my thoughts.
The way u look at each other is so cuteee!!! Its so nice to have someone that share the same interests as you do in a relationship. Im obsessed with your videos!
You guys just won a subscriber for both channels 🎉 This gave me nostalgia because this was me as a teen and into early university years. I still read, but focus more on theological books and the Bible. Ps. The B&N bookmas 12 was the first video I saw of your wife. It was great! ❤
Welcome!! So glad to have you here on the channel!! I’ve just recently started incorporating theological/apologetic books on the channel, so any recommendations would be amazing!
ITS BOOK SWAP TIME BABYYYY!!!!! Love the videos as always my man. Every time it’s such a joy to see you guys doing what you guys love. It’s great to see!!! Imma need to check some of these out ! Much love brother . God bless!!!! You make my day every time I see an upload
You two are so cute together! I've never read Riley Sager but I've been hearing about his books FOREVER so I definitely want to see you two read Only One Left if so only so I can see which one you like better and choose where to start 😂
Love that you both posted 😊at the same time Ian your video just popped up on my RUclips first ‼️💯Also Ash does not look like Casper and you both look great on camera 😊 Also finished Morning Star and I have to give Golden Son and Morning Star and Red Rising 5⭐️. I will eventually read the other books because I want to see how Darrow, and the rest of them change the system. Thank you for getting Ashlynn to read this series because without that video and then your comments about Red Rising I would not have even known about this series‼️💯😊😅☺️ So thank you and Ash for getting me to read different books of different genres. I am even going to give nonfiction books a try next especially some autobiographies. 😊😅
Great vlog. I'm not sure that I'd like The Hazel Wood, but I know Marie is going to LOVE this book. Very interesting (for her). I have The Gutter Prayer, so that is a book that I will be reading, and I've read five other Riley Sager books (Final Girls (4 Stars), The Last Time I Lied (4 Stars), Lock Every Door (4 Stars), Home Before Dark (4 Stars), and Survive the Night (3 Stars), and I have The House Across the Lake. So, I will be reading this, some day. This was a LOT of fun. Thanks for sharing your reading experience with us. Graff and Marie
I am pausing the video at 3:09 to say I hope you picked Addie LaRue! It is a beautiful book! If you didn't pick that for this specific video, I hope you can convince her to read it!
I had to see your reaction to the house across the lake that book I could not put down I was so lost for words glad you liked it you both had some great books! 😊
Yay to tell you how excited I got when I seen both you and your wife Ashlynn posted a new video last night and the torcher to wait and watch it till this morning cause I had to get up early! Yes yes yes to a video of yall reading the only one left!! You don’t have to apologize for it being so long between videos I appreciate the quality yall both put out! I just love seeing your reactions to the books and I have just added the hazelwood and the house across the lake to my TBR! Thank you for making such fantastic videos!!
Just watched the other video and had to come watch yours. I love the enthusiasm y'all have. Will definitely be checking out more videos from both of you. This seems like so much fun.
I’m glad Ashlyn mentioned this video in hers as it wasn’t in my notifications for some reason even though my notifications are on for your channel! :( love you guys!!
I have had The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue on my shelf for a while now. I need to read that soon. I am actually planning to do a video of reading my husband's favorite genre next year which is sci-fi fantasy and a book he choose from my tbr that I haven't been able to squeeze in my tbr. I think swapping books and getting other people to choose your books helps you pick a book that you wouldn't have thought to read. Such fun videos to see.
Totally agree! These book swaps have helped me (sometimes forced me🙈) to branch out, and to also read things on the TBR. I’m excited to see what you think of your husband’s favorite book/genre!
It’s Iiiannnn time! Lol Tell Ash I’m mad you guys posted at the same time. Who do I watch first? ;) glad you guys liked the “Your Love Story” TBR prompt idea too….lmao at the Riley Sager scolding! Pfffftttt on you! Ian!! You know what!?! Just for that-You need to read Riley Sager lol I’m halfway through Legendborn, which is EXCELLENT btw (YA), and an Asian fantasy one called “Her Radiant Curse”. Light fantasy for the holidays cuz I’m cool on horror and thriller for a minute. Read a ton during spooky season. Want to be able to sleep with a foot hanging off the bed again lol and YES READ THE ONLY ONE LEFT together! I LOVED it and want to see what you guys think of it!
@@iangubeli atta boy. I’m actually also reading Matthew Perry’s memoir now also. Though never a super massive fan of the show, I do still love Friends and it’s great late night tv. I was blown away by his death and his history of addiction, which I had no idea about. Made for a fascinating read. May not be your cup of tea, hell, the works would boring if we all loved the same stuff lol but it’s really good and I’m just so gutted he is gone.
I usually watch you wife's videos and checked out yours to see what she picked for you. (Great idea for intrigue btw) I loved watching your reactions. 😆 You two are the perfect pair! Now I have to read that Riley Sager book ASAP!
Well, it all depends ok your preferences. I like a particular kind of writing style more than others. I’m sure you do as well! Every once in a while we come across books that just blow our minds with how it was written. For me lately, that is anything written by Bernard Cornwell! That guy can write in a way I have never read before! It’s so beautiful and interesting, I hang on every word!
@@iangubeli thanks for the tip. I am listening to Dark Matter and I am already at 36% or chapter 7. And it’s amazing I have already ordered it because I know that I want to re-read it.
Hazel wood isn’t a cover on a book that I would pick. Yes I’m one who judges books by there covers lol but the way you talked about I need to read this definitely. These reviews are always so much fun. I’m hooked on booth if you alls channels I will literally rewatch you all videos. And they way you all compliment each other you just don’t see that with other book couples you booth match each others excitement and appreciate each other’s reviews. Bravo 👏🏽 as always.
Loved your video! As always.❤ I was wondering if you could suggest a fantasy book that not too hard to read that could bring me back into the fantasy genre?
I apologize getting back to you so late. Okay, a good fantasy that’s just fun, and doesn’t take too much effort to read is “The Hobbit.” If you’ve already read it (or aren’t really interested) I would also recommend “The Coward.” I really enjoyed how fun that books was. It’s not hard to get through at all!
I think you hit the nail on the head with how you described the second half of the Hazel Wood. I felt like it was Alice In Wonderland on 10 times the acid and with so much more horror. It’s extremely trippy/psychedelic vibes, which I absolutely hate. I’ve never understood the appeal of that. It was very disappointing because I loved the first half of the book, but then it plummeted and I really struggled to get through it. I didn’t even read the short stories at the end because by the time I finished the actual book I was just so exhausted from reading it and couldn’t wait to be done with it. If y’all liked it, though, there is a second one!! I read my first Riley Sager book this year and I looooved it. I really need to read The House Across The Lake, I’ve heard so many good things about it from so many people. One of the books I’m in the middle of reading right now is The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. I was so excited to get it because I thought I would love it. I’ve been working my way through it for months now, I just can’t seem to stay interested in it long enough to get very far when I pick it up. I’m looking forward to watching Ashlynn’s video next to see what she thinks about it and figure out if there might be hope for it or if I need to DNF it. *** coming back to edit this because I just saw that she didn’t get that book as one of hers, maybe next time! 😂 I need someone to tell me if it’s worth sticking it through to the end or not.
I didn’t read the short stories at the end either😂 I was kind of done with the book by that point, I really just wanted it to be over so I could move on. I have had Addie Larue on my TBR for a while. I’ll attempt it for you so I can tell you if it’s worth it! I actually have been trying to read A Darker Shade of Magic from the same author and I find myself in the same dilemma. I want to read it, but I want to read other things more. I have been trudging through it head and there with little to no results.
I love when you and Ashlynn do this together! I would love to see more of them. So I read The House Across the Lake and I felt the paranormal twist was too weird for me and trust me I love horror but I felt it kind of took away from a good thriller. I think if he kept it a thriller all the way through I think I would have liked it more. I think the paranormal aspect of it was just kind of thrown in there. But overall I thought it was a decent book. I do highly recommend reading The Only One Left by Riley Sager as that’s my all time favorite book now. I think you would enjoy it.
I agree, the twist, though I stare sting and made for decent tension, was a bit too much. I don’t mind genres being merged, but it could’ve been done differently without taking away from the thriller aspect!
i audibly said be a good husband and buy her all four! lol. I just purchased the house across the lake so i'm excited to hear your thoughts. I purchased Hidden Pictures because of your video and my goodness I loved it.
I'm gonna need a tandem vlog reading the only one left now! Video idea: (Maybe you guys read & record your reactions separately then at the end of the book you can do a spoiler discussion section like debriefing all that happened since you weren't able to tell each other in the moment but all you heard were like gasps and stuff then and you reveal your rating to each other!
I would love for you to do a deep dive into John Gwynne’s books and tell us your recommended reading order of all of his books and tell us which ones are your favorite! I see his books all over barnes and noble and really want to get into his books :$
I am on the waitlist for the Jade City audiobook so that is my next read 😅😊 and I got the hazel wood audiobook from my library because of Ash’s reasons 😅😊 and I am also not into super scary stuff and I am not too much into loads of sexy stuff in books. 😅😊
And I finished the storied life aj Fikrey and I agree with Ash that it’s a very special feel good book. I loved that it was short. I have also added malice and dark matter to my library waitlist for the audiobook. Although I am trying to switch screen time for book time so I might just get malice because like Ash said it is a chunky book and as long as the font isn’t all small and squished together chunky books don’t scare me. I am going to read order of the Phoenix and all I have is the hardcover and I don’t mind carrying that around. I am also going to add the house across the lake to me tbr. Also do audiobooks count for switching screen time for book time ? 😊
@@iangubeli Awesome ! I really liked The Hazel Wood. I am reading Dark Matter next. My library just made it available on audiobook. Jade City is still on the waitlist. I always check books out at my library first and if I really like them then I add the physical book to my shelf.
I want to know both your thoughts on one of my characters that im writing currently writing 5 different genres and my character is stuck in a Playlist of songs. Every time a new song plays a new world appears. 😊 my genres im writing is fantasy, dystopia, mystery, romance and science fiction so which genre do u guys think that character is in? I also design all my characters myself.
After this video I will now be adding The House Across the Lake. I will put this on a TBR as I'm over the spooky season for a bit thanks to Oct. reads. LOL Also I wanted to let you know I finally finished The Pariah. Wow What a great book. I will def. be diving into the 2nd book at some point. Have you read the 2nd book yet? I'm assuming not as you haven't discussed it. I think once I'm finished with the other 3 books I'm currently reading I'm going to read the book you recommended awhile back that you said was hilarious... something to do with someone overhearing people talk about murder so someone hires this person to murder someone? I'll have to go back thru your videos but I feel I'm in need of something light after my most recent reads. Anyway loved the video and as I've said before you two are one of the cuties couples... either you are both truly in love or you guys are great RUclips actors. LOL Ok take care sir and look forward to your next video! God Bless!
Hahah!! We are definitely truly in love!! And that book that was so funny was called “Finlay Donovan Is Killing It.” Such a fun book!! “House Across the Lake” is definitely worth it!!
@@iangubeli Finlay Donovan is Killing it is turning out to be a really fun read. Every time she turns around it's something else. Lol the part with her in the cycling class had me rolling. Lol
There's such a huge debate going on in my bookstore about what they consider YA now. The amount of profanity and mature nature of majority of the YA new releases are shocking !

I wanted to get her all of them🙈 eventually one day!!
Yesss a new video!
I read the hazlewood a few years ago i liked it 🙂
I'm gonna need a tandem vlog reading the only one left now!
Video idea: (Maybe you guys read & record your reactions separately then at the end of the book you can do a spoiler discussion section like debriefing all that happened since you weren't able to tell each other in the moment but all you heard were like gasps and stuff then and you reveal your rating to each other!
YES!! We have been talking about how we want to tandem read this book, and we finally came up with an idea! It’s going to be so funny!
I'm so excited & will be tuning in! God bless you both :)@@iangubeli
You are in full concentration mode! :) Love it!
Ok, I enjoyed this a lot. I’ve now subscribed and I’m off to watch the jigsaw piece to this videos…video? 👍👍
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel!
1:04 you two are soo cutee!!!
Would love to see you guys read The Only One Left by Riley Sager! I really liked that book 😁
I would love for you to do a deep dive into John Gwynne’s books and tell us your recommended reading order of all of his books and tell us which ones are your favorite! I see his books all over barnes and noble and really want to get into his books :$
I love this idea!! I will put this on my videos-to-make list!!
@@iangubeli awesome! i really want to get into John Gwynne! i just don’t know where to start or what to expect!
Hazelwood is Coraline for YA community 😮 ?
I may just have to read The Hazel Wood now. Yes, please read The Only One Left together! It's my favorite Riley Sager book.
I am on the waitlist for the Jade City audiobook so that is my next read 😅😊 and I got the hazel wood audiobook from my library because of Ash’s reasons 😅😊 and I am also not into super scary stuff and I am not too much into loads of sexy stuff in books. 😅😊
I hope you will enjoy jade city and the hazlewood 😊
Jade City does have some sexual stuff you need to skip. But not too much. The Hazel Wood is good to go! No bad stuff anywhere!
That’s such a unique idea!! I would love to read an excerpt!!
Lol
Never seen someone say they look like caster when they don't.
See my photo? Heavy filter full of saturation so I have some pigment to my skin
Not me over here screaming for Piranesi
One day! One day!
🎉
There's such a huge debate going on in my bookstore about what they consider YA now. The amount of profanity and mature nature of majority of the YA new releases are shocking !
It’s insane what they’re exposing YA readers to these days. It’s sad really.
I read Station Eleven I still think about it. Very realistic of what a real pandemic
I DNF boring Piranesi
What was boring about Piranesi!? I haven’t read it yet.
And Station Eleven sounds freaking so good!
@@iangubeli it’s the same day everyday nothing happens I got to 60% of the book nothing nothing nothing happens. My book club said keep going it gets better but I don’t wanna
Fun video ❤
buddy read the book please
