From what I understand UT has better D ends relative to their tackles so in a clod and possibility windy night RD and CK needcto bring all of their ammunition to bear on this reaaly good team . Every team is beatable but the Buckeyes team and fans need to bring it. GO BUCKS!!
The skills, talent and potential of Buckeyes and what they are is not defined by The game with TTUN. No wonder The game gets in their head - leading up to The game, there’s so much talk about getting ready for IT, then afterward, the other games are compared to The game. Mentally, it’s like making the Buckeyes and the Wolverines siamese twins that hate each other. Because the talk (all over the Internet) consistently includes one with the other. Michigan game should not be the standard from which Buckeyes are measured. So many reasons for a loss. But if we win The game, Buckeyes are doing great (no matter how we’re really doing). If we lose The game, Buckeyes are doing horrible. And that would be a false statement. Go Bucks!
All opponents, all games should be treated as “they are our opponent and we’re going to get them and win!” Yes, Michigan is our rival and it’s super important to win for that reason. But there is no lesser opponent in my opinion. We need to go after every game with the same intensity and desire to win as we do for the rivalry game (otherwise, we’d be saying it’s OK to lose here & there, as long as it’s not to Michigan). When we do that, put Michigan/mentally look at Michigan, in the same group as Akron, or something, Michigan won’t be up on such a pedestal and get in the head of the players so much - it’s important to win every game. Every game you strategize, make a calls, make changes as needed, play hard and you win. With our talent, Buckeyes get the W!
Coaching at the end of the season is more difficult and is a bigger factor in winning games-when athletic talent is similar, when teams are facing unfamiliar opponents, when there is plenty of video to review and analyze.
Exactly! And like you said all those reasons are why coaching in post season is even more important along with having a good game plan.. when this is not the case it usually results in blow outs.
If the timeless cliché' about the game being won or lost in the trenches is true, it make sense that you would evaluate a football coach primarily on his teams performance on the LOS, and in the case of the Buckeye's the O line in particular. Since Day's arrival the Buckeye's big guys have not been able to consistently execute running plays in zone blocking schemes, often allowing penetration into the backfield, TFLs, and the LOS often ending in the backfield as noted by Urban Meyer on BTN. The bad habits brought on by over-reliance on zone schemes have bled over to non-zone plays. The Buckeye's zone blocking run plays look like a kind of half-assed pass protection where the technique that seems to be taught is to stand-up, let the defenders under pad level, getting set back on their heels, thus surrendering leverage right after the snap of the ball. Our guys just seem to be content with shielding or getting in the way, not staying low and exploding into a defender and driving him off the ball.
@@MrRainrunner Doesn't matter. You seriously think teams like Georgia or Alabama under Nick Saban had any issues with backup offensive lineman? Hell no, because they had they're backups ready unlike Day and Frye.
1:48 isn’t that the O lines object since ALL of these guys started playing football ! Like “ knock his ass off the ball “ , sound familiar ? Does it matter run sets up the pass ,or pass sets up the run ? Just win ! 9:219:23
I just want Chip Belly to put 2-3 Slow & Untalented TE’s on field, especially see the 5.1 Forty electric G. Scott split out on crucial Passing plays - leave those 2 stud RB’s on bench and WR’s like Inniss,Rodgers,Graham on sidelines too - don’t put pressure on Tennessee Defense
Sounds like Day still wants to prove "we are tough." Sounds like he still hasn't learned from his chronic coaching mistakes. Expecting another dreadful game plan and another embarrassing loss.
You are totally wrong. He was referring to Tegra not being aggressive as a OL an getting hands on guys. Thats what he wants OL to do, fail being aggressive....
When you consistently surrender the LOS, then you are hopping to find success with lower percentage plays, relying on the Buckeye's freakish skill position players to make lemonade. Guess what, our guys aren't so freakish that they don't get gassed, even with an excellent backup rotation. The inevitable myriad of mistakes ensue and we are all left shaking our heads.
I don't care how tough your OL is when you run at the strong side of a DF shift. When you run straight at the centers ass every play. You're running inside the tackles and guards getting 15-30 yards a pop. Then abandoned it to run over a centers ass and it to blitz, and DF shifts, and try sweeps, dives. That's your problem. Not your OL toughness. Wow you abandoned your pass.
Whatever they are paying you to say that ad at the start of the show, I’ll pay you double to never say it again. It’s playoff week dammit no one wanna hear that
Gents, the issues with the O line have been issues for as long as Day has been there. I don't care how many we put into the NFL or win awards. Our 3 star Alabama center did not spend enough time in Day's system to be taught the timid looking bad habits we have seen with Day's teams.
No bubble screens!!! Attack down feild.

there were significant injuries to key players. Not Ryans fault.

Good intel on our kicker, heard anything about McLarty taking over, or will we see more 20 yard kicks that go sideways???

tOSU 17-14
Tennessee is the Penn State of the SEC though I don’t know why everybody is worried
Same Oline coach, different day. These choices were made 3 years ago

Avoid turnovers!

No runny yards
Score TD’s. Problem solved!

Soooooooo Day wants to prove Ohio is “tough” again?? UT will be planting that flag in the middle of the Block O!!! 😂 #smash〽️
What will the o-line look like? Same as it always will under cryin ryan.... Soft.
13-10. Michigan just won a natty. OSU is soft.
The ncaa is coming and I can't wait. 2.5 years of blatant CHEATING is not going to go unpunished. BET!
10,000 times, "The bottom line is""!!
But I digress !
TBO, the new transfer tackle doesn't look to good. Speed ends kill him.....
