Really glad I found this channel. Thanks for the shout out for the sticker in the video. I’m a patrol Sergeant for our local Sheriff’s Office. I’ve always believed you lead from the front. I don’t ask my guys/girls to do something I won’t do. Just over 7 yrs. left so hopefully I’ll get a part time stump grinding business going so I can make it full time when I retire. Thanks again.
Hi you doing im in Connecticut I charge $85 minimum I do the same thing when I quote i always bring my machine i dont charge by the inch ive been stumping for awhile i know what area are rocky or ledge and which areas are sandy and i also charge alittle more then the stump guys around here i go wider and get the root flare and the mound to make level alot of guys around here just get stump i work for a couple of trees services Monday through Friday and weekends i work for myself
Another great video, thanks! Down here in Montreal area, Canada, prices are about 10$CAD per inch. Around the city, prices drops as you are going out of the metropolitan area. By charging by inches, you make more money with small stumps, the bigger they are, at some point you need to adjust i.e. 5 feet silver maple with a lot of surrounding roots cannot be done for 600$ or you'll be loosing money. Cheers!!!
I dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost my login password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
Thank you!! This video is perfect. I'm an arborist full time, but an incredibly lucrative client whom I removed about 15 smaller oak trees requested I come grind some stumps from trees they had removed several years ago prior to even meeting me. I have a reserved hydraulic vermeer for the job. I took a shot in the dark and asked $600, which was the $200/day rental cost and $60/ea stump, which I see now may've been a little low since the stumps were nearly flush to the ground, but about 36" diameter. I wasn't super far off at least! Also... Our gas here in PA is $3.31, I go over to Ohio and pay $2.90 instead.
Love this. My two son’s just started with Rayco RG37T and trying to figure out how to price. So irrespective of cost per inch, how do you determine MINIMUM for a single stump and then add for additional stumps?
My min just to show up is $75 even if its a 6 inch stump ... now i mostly subcontract work but I normally charge $300 to $350 per hr machine hrs with my 50hp machines...
Thanks for sharing. It's always helpful to learn what others are doing because everyone knows something you don't. Some of the stump grinders on FB can be pretty ugly to someone just wanting to ask a question. One youtuber had a useful nugget of wisdom. He believed that he should be getting about 50% of his bids and will adjust his price accordingly.
I bought a hand swing to add onto my mowing business but it’s mostly for my own use. I live in a rural area where many don’t care if they have some stumps in their yards but I try to get my mowing customers to get rid of stumps in their yard so I will use it for that too I hope. If things pick up and I think I could grind a fair amount of stump maybe I’ll get a used grinder like a Bandit SG-40 or maybe you have a good grinder, not a tow behind for someone starting out. Thanks for all the info. You rock. Oh and I want a ‘70 Mustang Mach 1 soo bad but my income right. Now just isn’t there right now. Maybe someday...
