Great interview. So refreshing to see an interviewer allowing the subject to speak freely without constant interruptions. Just a simple nod is sometimes all that is needed to keep the flow going. Also a mutual respect that the interviewer knows his stuff also prompts an excellent exchange. Well done.

Good interview. Tim Bowness is always interesting and his music is fantastically diverse. I actually saw him play live many years ago with Steven Wilson, Richard Barbieri, Steve Jansen and Mick Karn. His music now is much better though in my opinion.

Brilliant chat. Those long-form discussions / interviews are becoming a real sweet spot for your channel. Cheers. Tim comes across as a very well-read and eclectic music enthusiast. Didn’t expect anything less after having listened to The Album Years podcast with SW.

great interview, Tim's music is brilliant and so underrated. It touched on many issues that are arising due to todays world downturn.

@@classicalbum With pleasure, there are many but not so many good ones, your comments are dotted with intelligent english and a true understanding for the details. I will report back to you after I see Roxy Music in Austin in September. That will be interesting. I come up with this because I just watched an old video of their concert.

Although I'm familiar with several of Tim's albums, I imagine many are not. Would be good to have your guests give a potted history of their career to date at the start of the interviews. Nevertheless, this is excellent. His knowledge is encyclopaedic and he speaks so well.
And I've just pre-ordered his new one, and another that had passed me by. So, these interviews are worth doing.

Extremely interesting guy and one of my favourite singers. The question is, will The Album Years come back?

Being 50+ years old TAAB was fresh air back in the day. Passion Play is still my favorite but I wouldn't "sit this one out". Although I love just about everyone that played on Tull albums, I always thought he could have evolved the group by choosing better musicians that could be pushed. Much like Zappa pushed his band, Ian could have done a better job. But there's nothing wrong with loyalty too. Then you take someone like Arjen Lucussen who specializes in using people wisely. Just my opinion. Loved them all though.

The Great Albums: This Was, Stand Up, Aqualung, Thick As A Brick, Stormwatch, Under Wraps, Crest Of A Knave, Catfish Rising, Roots To Branches, Dot Com, Zealot Gene
That is 11 excellent Albums. Who else can write so much great music and not just fill it up with filler and covers?
Good are Benefit, Passion Play, Minstrel In The Gallery, Songs From The Wood, Heavy Horses, A, Broadsword,
Not Faves. but still better than 90% of other music are: Warchild, Too Old To Rock and Roll, Rock Island,
But even the albums that are not my favorites like "A", has songs on it I love a lot, like "Uniform", "Pine Marten's Jig", and "Black Sunday", all great songs.

I love Passion Play, it was my first concert that I ever went to, but it is very jerky and a bit too reckless. I think of Passion Play as 20 great albums all trying to be stuck into one album with equal representation. Thick As A Brick is not perfect, but close to it. 50 years later the creepy imagery wears thin for me ... you know, sperm's in the gutter. That went over really great with me as a rebellious teen-ager, but I could do without that kind of stuff, unless there is a point, an in PP's case the point was just to shock, like with Aqualung as well, which I also love.

After Passion Play, Warchild was pretty flat, outages from PP. It was pretty awful.
