I love the toning on that 84!! Really cool bars...Bring back memories of my grandmother and grandfather. They had thousands of sunshine products. Really cool pyramid you have made. I love Sunshine bars!
Hey Mark! The community comes to the rescue again! I'm sure you have a shopping list as do I. Every time I would go to the LCS I would ask for Sunshine Mining bars but they always had none to be found. I guess I can check that one off the list😊👍
Happy Sunday my friend! The 3D boxes are awesome. I only have two of them- one for the bars and the other holds the gram gold cards. Haven't been purchasing gram gold tho, so only two cards in the box right now.
The US coin capsules are awesome. You have capsules for literally everything. Nice bars. I like how you combine stacking and collecting. You have a great variety in your stack but also a lot of weight. Have a great Sunday.
Happy Sunday Austrian! Your comment says it best- I purchased all 10 bars at a regular premium- close to spot as possible. so this is really stacking silver BUT, I had fun tracking down different years while I was stacking so a little collecting in there for sure 😊👍
Your a bad influence my friend, lol!!! If I stumble upon more Sunshine Mining bars in the future that may happen but for now, calling this goal completed😊👍👍
I remember stacking the first 10 ounce Sunshine bars I got down in the 230.00 range but silver was way, way lower. This coin shop sold me the silver at 33 an ounce and included shipping. Considering silver is now around 31 spot- excellent deal, no complaints here!
G'day Silver Struck, always cool to see Sunshine Mining products, congrats on completing your 10oz 10 bar box, nice tonings, especially the 1984 bar, you are well connected, a must these days, interesting that there is an undated bar, just like the mystery undated 1oz round, thanks for sharing your passion. Cheers Peter J 😂👋🙏💪🇦🇺 🐨🦘👍
Getting some Sunshine Mining headed your way soon my friend! That last 10 ounce bar is my favorite, I love mysteries, lol! No date, no serial number but it has the Eagle on the reverse and a high shine finish. Thinking it's some sort of special edition bar.
That business card is very interesting, it shows an English hammered medieval gold coin, often seen in museums across the UK. The Sunshine Mint is a great mint, the vintage bars are wonderful. I would always buy an item not dipped unless I could get a discount, it then gives a potential buyer the choice of dipping and not put anyone off. There is nothing wrong with silver toning, it is what silver does after all. Great bars shown. The 2nd bar 1982 is my favourite.
I totally agree- dipping is a personal preference. I'll leave these as is for now. I like blast white looking bars but I also enjoyed the toned up silver. This coin shop gave me a good deal and they are excellent to do business with!
Hey Struck, congrats on reaching another stcking/collecting milestone of yours💯👍 Those 100oz of Sunshine 10oz bars look absolutely amazing/stunning. Fine play SS. Thanks for sharing with us. U sir have been going very hard. Kudos to u! U get my favorite saying..... Stack em Hard, Stack em High!!!
It's been an epic run for sure. As more vintage gets dumped into the market from sellers, I have been like a kid in the candy store! I expect the tables will turn soon- interested what 35+ silver does- attract buyers or will selling be more prevalent...
@@SilverStruckIm also interested to see what that brings. Id say more selling and more rare vintage. Has been slim pickings lately for me unfortunately. Not much in the wild as of lately so it nice to live vicariously thru ur vids. Thanks for the solid viewing and info. U do a bang up job and I say that with the utmost respect. Been fun watching💯👍
Yup, keep stacking that vintage silver! Most of my vintage stack are poured bars. As you know, harder to store those so it's nice to have a nice way to keep the bars in the video.
I think if I were even halfway toward my goals, I'd be tempted to pick up bars like that. Good thing I can get my fix by watching your channel! Great pickups! 100 ounces is a really significant accomplishment with any form or amount of Silver, and this is certainly no different. Great stuff! Keep up the good work! Incidentally, I sometimes notice how many exclamation marks are in the comments that I leave you. I'm really far less animated in real life than my excessive punctuation would lead you to believe. I just needed to say that cuz I felt like I was losing "man-points" due to my apparent level of excitement. 😆😉 Take care!
LOL! I appreciate the enthusiasm good sir. I'm the same way off-line, kinda down to business type person, not overly excited. But hey, this is a passion we both share with silver in general so it's all good my man! This 100 ounce goal satisfies the requirement of some stacking weight while sudo collecting- none of these bars had a premium more then normal generic weight 😊👍👍
Congratulations 🍾 🍾 SS Another goal accomplished! Awesome 🏆🎃 👻 👽 🏆 Yes, I know it's a bit early for Halloween 🎃 However, It's almost time for you to break out the spooky 👻 silver 🧛♂️
You can read my mind BA! I've been keeping my eye on the MPM site for the 2024 bar- just checked it again once I saw this comment, lol! I still do not have the first year of issue bar, only because it goes for insane premiums. I should just buy it someday as it's the only one I do not have. It's almost October so I hope MPM gets that bar out soon 😥
Wow I'm actually very surprised that u took those out of the original packaging even though you gave a valid explanation as to why you chose to do so I'm still surprised lol. That's a very cool box and setup for those bars
If the OP plastic was perfect I would have not cut them out. Sometimes you just want to examine the bar and see what the condition is. I have purchased silver in the OP in the past that I took out of the OP and the silver was either milk spotted or damaged. What I should have talked about more is the subject of unique OP. mentioned the red Maples on the Engelhard's- that specific to that bar but there are other examples out there as well.
@SilverStruck I've taken many of my bars out of the OP lol. In most cases I'd rather be able to touch my silver but in some cases I do keep stuff in it's OP
Sometimes I show my address. Just out of habit, I kept the box flipped the other way. Some people that send me packages don't want their info out there.
With the price of silver just over $31 per ounce right now $33 per oz was a great buy on vintage Sunshine mining bars. Glad you discussed dipping and cleaning of vintage bars, over time what becomes acceptible can change and that is just what has happened in the collectible coin category over the past 100 years or so. You put together a nice little box collection my friend. Where are you currently buying your capsules for art bars as well as these larger bars.
HI GD! That's why I rarely dip my vintage silver and only pressed or proof examples if I do at all. If vintage silver keeps growing in popularity, I could see grading companies getting involved in the future. If you dip a proof, it looks correct after the dip because of the finish but if you dip something old and poured you lose luster and the piece looks horrible. I know you know all this but like you said, good topic to talk about. "cleaning" is a whole other subject, dipping sometimes works out. maybe a good discussion for a video? About capsules- I buy mostly off Ebay for those-it's easier to shop deals.
Nice bars. I was in Ashland. NC a couple months ago. I reached my 100th and 101st roller skating rinks there. I do stop in at LCS in different cities around the country but I didn't go to one on that trip. I guess I was more interested in getting to my 100th rink.
That is quite the accomplishment, congratulations on visiting over 100 roller skating rinks! I don't think I have seen one of those since Jr High. Good memories from back then tho.
I hope you snag that bar WMW! That happens to me sometimes as well. If I go to the LCS with 2,000 bucks- nothing to buy but if I have 200 on me they have everything I want, lol!
Congrats on the collection they are great bars silver from the mining operations in the 80's. Also there is a different variation unserialized with thicker boarders almost double the thickness of the boarders on your pressed bars just an fyi.
I really appreciate that information, thank you! Finding information on the older Sunshine silver is not easy. Most of the knowledge out there is among collectors, so I learn a lot here in the comment section. Now I have another bar to look for!
When you think you're finished there is always another one out there you didn't know about it happens to the best of us. Tha k yoi for sharing your content it's great for this niche community.
I gotta start stacking generics because ever since I started stacking I just been buying vintage vintage vintage vintage and when I need money, I’m sad to sell the vintage
The only way to capture the premium back on vintage is to sell to a collector, imo. That's the one downside to vintage silver, selling back to the LCS.
I can't figure out the last bar. It's undated, has the Eagle on the reverse and the finish is different....so I think it's from some sort of set or special edition bar.
That's the thing with this sort of OP- really hard to see the bar in all it's glory....condition and color. Looking forward to your video Friday night. Hoping to make the live.
Sunshine Mining is the older name and then they changed the name to Sunshine Minting in 2000. I collect the older silver, so the old Sunshine Mining bars is what you see here.
Bought a Golden Analytical 12 oz vintage poured bar. They dipped it and you can tell. The texture's coarse and it's to shiny. I love original finish and was disappointed. The shape is awesome, the finish is not right.
I only dip pressed silver (rarely) and some proof silver. If you dip that stuff, it will come out great. The finish of the pressed silver is the key. As you know from your bar, can't dip poured silver- never works out, imo. Poured has too rough of a surface.
Love Sunshine Mint bars. Simple and clean. Great vid, Struck!
Very simple design- classic later vintage! Thank you for the support good sir!

Oh my… what an awesome sight! That box certainly looks amazing with the 10 bars. Well done Struck 👍🏻😊
