I am glad you were pleased with the trade! I threw in a few surprises with the rarer rounds and bars that I knew you would enjoy! Glad SBS was able to point out the raised ring info for you. You made an excellent video and obviously did your research before posting it! Thank You for the trade and we'll have to do it again sometime! Thank you for the SS Stamp Of Approval!
Thank you for always being a top notch person to trade with! You bet I did some research before posting this one, lol!! Even with research done, I missed the raised ring on the USVI. Thanks to the keen collectors here, that was brought up in the comment section. There is a lot to be learned in the comment section, we have a great community! YOur the best Mark, thank you again sir!
At 11:45... I don't recall seeing a USVI with the lot number circle being raised up like that. Its normally just the ring, not the whole circle. The lot number starting with a "A" too... Interesting. I just got that rollo delivered to my po box. Haven't even got it picked up yet. My first rollo. Grabbed a 1/4oz Englehard Prospector too. 👍
That occurred on only a 158 s and a 159 s lot numbers, both for standard 1981 a-mark and Anaheim chunkers. Lot numbers are sometimes A ### S, ### S, and sometimes even just ### with no A and S.
I read SBS's comment below. Quite the variation of USVI ingots to be had out there. Great observation Don't Ask! I had to go back and look at the circle on that bar. Until this trade I only had one Anaheim, so the occurrence of the raised circle is new to me. Congratulations on the rollo!
What a great trade. Some awesome pieces there. I have a few of the Swiss Of America rolos and a larger 3 oz piece I may show in a video sometime. Thank you for sharing your awesome collection
Very nice vintage silver rounds they are definitely in the right hands .. Really nice addition... USVI collection is fantastic, lots of killer pieces in all awesome content brother, Thanks for sharing & taking the time to explain certain things. 🇺🇲🦅⚖️
What an awesome trade with Mark. Some really nice pieces there. But your USVI box is certainly something to drool over! Cheers Struck and keep stacking ✌🏻😊
That USVI box got some attention, people like the box. Trading within the community has really worked out well! Glad Mark likes what I sent along as well.
I just dig the vintage videos I you seem to always have something that I've never seen before. BTW, Fish would be proud of that Pyramid. Cheers 🍾 🔥 SS.
Gotta represent with the pyramid! I'm actually a little surprised that I keep acquiring silver that I had not seen before. Every time I think I have seen a lot, something new appears! It's a lot of fun as a hobby- love the vintage silver!
Holy crap what a hoard omg. U mustve been so pumped to get that package lol. Love the variety. I've never seen those flat stackers, those are sooo cool
I had an idea of what was in the package but Mark surprised me with some rare silver this time! In the collection it goes- deep stack. Thank you for watching and commenting, you know I appreciate it!
One heck of a trade and a great way to end my weekend by checking them out! Awesome stuff, thanks as always for the great collections and information! Have a great week ahead!
@@SilverStruck I had never seen one before until my friend Tom had one in his miscellaneous box, I can’t remember if I traded an ounce for an ounce or something to that effect, but I have basically silver price in mine, which is really cool!
Very nice comment, thank you! I try and do my best to add value to collecting vintage silver. I learn a lot from the comment section- lots of good information sharing going on👍👍
Wow! What a haul! Love the USVI of course. The round is so cool 👍 Congrats on the variety of square corner bars. Good stuff I’ve added another brick recently as well but you’ve blown way past me 😎
Not too long ago I only had around 25 USVI's, so to have this bar stack approaching 70 bars is something I really was not planning on. Really fun way to collect- neat bars. Thanks for the support CSAN!
Wow, I really love both chunky 1 ounce Swiss of American round and the USVI round as well. Those are fantastic but very kind of oddball type rounds. Great stuff! I like the bars as well...makes me wish I were a collector rather than just a pure stacker. Just doing some catch up today. Take care & keep stacking & collecting!
I was short handed on Swiss examples as well as different USVI bars, so this package filled a lot of gaps! Been trading in the community more and more, it's a good way to collect. Take care Veritasfiles, always good to see you!
Swiss Of America is silver I wised I had paid more attention to earlier in my quest for vintage silver. If these rounds had a sound effect- yodeling would work great!, lol!
I absolutely love the Draper mint rounds. There are some very rare ones out there that never pop up. I really like the larger ones. The usvi round is sooooo cool. Very hard to come by and they always sell at a hefty premium. Amazing you got the c rhyne with the original card. Even rarer to come with those! What a generous trade from Mark S! Notice on the Anaheim Bar with a 159 s, the lot number is extruded out. That only occurred on the lot numbers around 158-159 ;)
Mark is always great to trade with, very generous indeed! Thanks to this trade I have silver I was missing in the collection. I was very light on the Swiss silver and did notice the different diameters on AE. Thanks for the help with the USVI's, I learned something new!
@SilverStruck no problem! Mark helped you fill in sooooo many gaps! Let me know if you need help filling additional draper mint/usvi gaps in your collection. I certainly do not have all variants by those refiners but can definitely help you with a few of the rarer and larger one's by both. Let me know!
G'day Silver Struck, what an impressive vintage silver trade with Mark S., a very well researched & presented video showcasing the very cool Swiss of America rounds, including the rollo round & the variety of USVI ingots & the unique USVI round, the information you share with the community & for novice collectors like me is invaluable. Cheers Peter J 🤗👋🇦🇺 🦘🐨👍
Wonderful comment my friend, thank you for that. I put as much time as I can into providing good information in my videos- pic's on AE and other sites once in awhile, etc. Takes quite awhile to make these videos. Your continued support great for the channel PeterJ, thank you!
Even with increasing the variety of USVI with this trade it's amazing how many ingot I have yet to collect. The thinner one are pretty cool. Good to see you WMW!
I just got my first couple of Anaheim bars a few months ago myself from the flea market. I don't trust Allengelhards numbers but some might be right. Like you said you don't really know how many have survived over the years. Mark is such a generous guy. I don't know how he finds these rare gems. Will be going to the diamond distroct tomorrow and i'll be on the lookout for vintage
I hope you found some great vintage to pick up in the diamond district! Mark goes to a lot of gun shows and there are PM vendors there, so he finds vintage silver that way. I live in an area with no real gun shows.
Well, USVI does stand for United States Virgin Islands but I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the naming of the USVI Ingot Co or not. There are some websites dedicated to USVI but they really don't answer your question directly.
Yes, it does stand for United States Virgin Islands and that was because the founder of the company wanted to eventually shift business there. Unfortunately, usvi ingot company’s operations were short-lived and that dream never came to fruition due to the sharp increase in the price of silver.
Hey SS its funny how we can't find Swiss of American rounds. I never run into them either. Mark S. is a great person and he really hooked it up. Im sure u returned the favor. Big fan of swiss rolo and Anaheim 💯👍
Yes- The Swiss silver is not around here at all- never see it. I've noticed a lot of stackers find this silver out West, which is interesting. I know Three Toes had a bunch of it at one point. Good to see you brother- keep stacking the vintage!
One of the advantages of having a varied and good size stack is that you can liquidate some and buy other stuff you want. I recently converted 1/2oz into two ounces. I feel for new stackers who weren't able to accumulate at $18. I sold my rolo this year and hopefully you'll see what I turned into in a few weeks.
I started accumulating silver at the right time but not enough of it, lol! The stack is a little heavy in collectables but it does make it easier to trade for other collectables as you pointed out. Looking forward to your next video CCT!
I would imagine your observations from collecting for so long are quite accurate. Excellent trade! One question, did you both discuss what you were sending or was this a "cold" trade to surprise each other?
Great question LBS! I sent Mark pics of 3 ten ounce Engelhard bars that he asked for. He said he would trade a combination of Swiss and USVI- so 30 ounces for 30 ounces of vintage. However, I was surprised at some of the more rare pieces he sent along as I did not ask for pics ahead of time. So, on my part a bit of a surprise.
@@SilverStruck Thanks for letting me in on that. Very cool. I really like the USVI round and also the Swiss America rolo. Those are amazing pieces! Thanks for sharing.
Nice collection SS.
