If you got any email reply for the correction then there will be no issues. Otherwise, you need to check how your name is printed in "Approval in Principle", if its mismatched with your passport, then there may be the possibility of visa rejection for mismatching.

If any possible to extend the date of principle letter because the validity of the letter is now 120 days
You need to ask your employer to contact ID Malta for that, but now a days no extension provided for any application

If you withdraw the application, it's not possible to get approval letter, If you still received then it's not valid and you cannot use it for work visa
