    I wonder what you would do with rosemary brushes and hahnemühle paper and daniel smith colours then...it makes me realize that art canbe learnt but one does need an innate talent . Thank you !! Ive learnt so much from you !!

    Hello Mr. Vanidas, I have been watching many of your watercolor painting videos and enjoy and learn from them. I would really enjoy a video or a relaxing beach scene with people enjoying themselves. Will you consider doing a 7-9 minute video for this type of scene? Thank you! I like the way you teach and I love your art, and I would like to see more country scenes besides your city scenes. 😍

      Thank you so much for your feedback! So glad to hear that you like my videos.
      I will plan more landscapes scenes and the beach scene as you mentioned. It might be more than 7-9 minutes though if I have to make it real time and do the narrations. 😊🙏

    Sir, how do they compare with the Stationerie Pro Aqua you reviewed earlier?

    • @VanidasMangathilArt
      @VanidasMangathilArt  3 месяца назад

      I think both are good, giving good washes. The Camel one seems to hold more water and can cover larger area, while Aqua pro holds slightly lesser water. However, Aqua pro appears to give more control on the details work.

      I have placed the link in the video description from where I have purchased this. I took it from stationerie.co.in
      The other day, I have noticed that one of the brush in the set are dropping hairs slightly. The other 4 in the set are OK.

    As the case with every synthetic brush, this one also doesn't have spring. Without spring/bounce they aren't good for watercolour medium.
    Once you experienced natural hair brushes, be it long/normal/mop etc. you will see why artist don't prefer this synthetic one. Save your money and buy natural hair brush. They have spring and holds way more water than any of the synthetic ones.

      Thanks for your feedback.
      Most of the synthetic brushes that I have used has more spring (stiffness and capability to retain it’s original shape) than the natural hair brushes that I have used. I have used only squirrel hair brushes from Raphael brand and my observation is based on that.
      I heard that natural hair brushes are mostly banned in India to avoid animal cruelty and the ones we get in market are imported ones and are very expensive. So I have been exploring imitation synthetic brushes. These days, with the advancement of technologies, imitation squirrel hair brushes are pretty close to natural squirrel hair brushes and have more shape retention capacity. These are much economical price wise.
      I haven’t used original kolinsky sable brushes or any other natural hair brushes than squirrel hairs. These days, after using some good quality imitation squirrel brushes (which is synthetic), I have stopped using natural hair brushes. I get large washes, good water holding capacity and good point retention with these imitation brushes.

      The opinion I have expressed in this video are my personal opinion, which may be determined by my style of painting. It might be different for another artist. I have been using these brushes heavily after I purchased it. One brush out of the set of 5 started dropping hairs now, but dropping hairs is something I found in natural hair brushes as well.

      @@VanidasMangathilArt I should have been more clear with my wording about bounce/spring about sable/natural hair brushes. What you are describing spring about synthetic are them not like being bend ( takes huge amount of effort to bend them ) and their eagerness to go back to their original shape. This now creates very rough painting experience, like you are scratching the paper. Its hard to delicately put 3rd or 4th layer of paint using stiff synthetic brush, it starts scratching and forget putting large mass using it. I have decade old now banned Indian Mongoose brushes. I use those.Sable/mongoose brush lets flows very differently than sythetic one, I tried all sorts of brushes initially thinking they might be good. not very good for watercolour. Expensive imitation might be better i guess as you are saying.
