if you are looking for a good queer end of the world book, I would recommend all that's left in the world by Erik J. Brown. its not really sci-fi, but it is an apocalypse book and it was pitched to me as Nick and Charlie during the apocalypse which is so accurate for the characters. do check out the trigger warnings tho before reading it because after the past two years it can hit a little too close to home

I totally get that YALC was overwhelming, because SAME!! There were so many people and so many books to buy AAAH. You got so many amazing things at the convention. Hopefully we can all go again next year
I was overwhelmed by the priory of the orange tree before reading it as well but it wasn't as intimidating as i thought it would be because the story is so engaging i really enjoyed it and read it quite fast for how long it is!
Oh my god you’re so lucky to have an arc of the dragons promise, I’m jealous !😭💓 I also didn’t love Elizabeth Lims first duology but I absolutely adored six crimson cranes, despite not even being a huge fan of ya fantasy😅 I hope you’ll love the books💕

I had just come out of a massive reading slump when I read The Priory of the Orange Tree, so Big Book Fear was definitely there, it was quite easy for me to get through, took me about two weeks I want to say, I also read it in english which is my second language. So I think people worrying about reading it definitely have a point but I dont think it should keep people from reading it

actually priory of the orange tree seems amazing to me because it's ✨sooooo long✨ i read really fast so the longer the book is, the better

side note the lion and luna/artemis pins are drawn as a reference to “neko atsume” which is a outdoor cat collecting game and it very sweet, i’d definitely recommend playing if you want something chill!

I've never seen The Princess Bride, but (after hunting for what seemed like years) I found a paperback copy a couple of months ago and.. this book was one of the most buckwild things I've ever read (the "good parts version, abridged" line actually made me panic for a second😆.. yeah, this book is an experience). It would've been even more impressive though, if it didn't have offensive comments thinly sprinkled throughout (think misogyny, fatphobia, sexism etc). But other than that.. the book was SO meta. Like, wow!

love your videos especially your book hauls just makes me want to find an excuse round my book ban! have you ever read the black flamingo by dean atta? if not i think you’d love it! it’s about self-discovery, being queer, self-acceptance and about growing up as black. it’s a fantastic book, it’s in verse with some pages of poetry. i recommend it, i gave it a 5/5 on good reads totally think you’d love it :)
