    The US invaded China in the past. China has never invaded the US. It has however had Chinese going to the US to help build its infrastructure and help keep them clean. The US invaded many of China's neighbours - Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Philippines, posing China significant threats. China has never invaded any of America's close neighbours. US has rimged China with numerous military bases, some with nuclear arms. China has only one military base outside China, and it's one to help China prevent piracy. Who is the aggressor ?

    I am an African who has lived very happily in the UK for 30 years. The large supermarkets here such as Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, morrisons all have their own line of clothing and all of them are made in China, so if Europe manufactures many of thecir goods in China how on earth will the foolish American politicians convince Europe to decouple from China??? They can forget about asking Africa, Asia and Latin America to listen to them because of americas bloody and sordid history of interventions in these regions. There is resentment and hatred and not respect in these regions towards America. Mr kishore mabhubani is absolutely on point in his analysis.

    No offense, but I think it might be a bit naive to imagine that this war won't turn hot or go nuclear.
    I mean, sure, It's all fun and kumbaya to imagine that the USA will just come to its senses and actively decide to just be an equal partner among nations, but when you snap back to reality, I think it's obvious that they can't and they won't. Not at least until it suffers a crippling enough military defeat, at home, to crush that oversized ego and finally give the population the up-and-close lesson about war they need, which too much of the rest of the world already knows too intimately.
    And while I believe China is truly interested in peace, I also don't take them as naive fools. There's no way they don't see this either, and I have a suspicion that China already has a strategic plan to hit the US homeland and cripple it, if these last ditch attempts diplomacy and peace are unable to make them turn back from their psychotic warpath, because if they aren't stopped before they go full mask-off to openly maintain the empire (using a level of destruction and violence we haven't ever seen yet), it's China that will undoubtedly suffer the most. In other words, I think China knows that it probably has no choice but to strike first, or it's facing another century of humiliation as the US destroys them and dominates what's left.
    But then again, maybe we'll get what we all genuinely hope for, and we'll wake up to a podium speech from a US president informing us that they're done with this global hegemon thing, will be pulling most (if not all) of their 800 bases around the world and will work with other nations to actually lift them up to their level... Again, I wish... But I'm not going to hold my breath.

    • @davidwong5197
      @davidwong5197 3 месяца назад

      You are not incorrect. But at least in the short term there will not be hot war because of codependency. Decoupling is the path to war. Good interview Cyrus, and I know Alvin, and his Brother, one key point not discussed was the simplistic basic fact of what GenAI is, it’s a software algorithm built with machines learning language, by itself it’s not so limitless due to hacking but when embedded into mobile processors it is limitless. The best GenAI software algorithms come from the the West and always will because of the limitations of collecting, analyzing and processing Hanzi 汉字 data of Chinese text compared to processing Romance Language data! Few people in the World know this it seems? Anyway, the US is restricting AMD, Nvidia and others from selling mobile SoC processors with GenAI to Chinese companies but I predict the way around that is to ship GenAI embedded with Western mobile processors to Vietnam! The West has the GenAI algorithm prowess but Greater Chinese mobile device and network server equipment manufacturers need the GenAI from the mobile processors to run the GenAI independently in stand alone form on devices and servers, so we have a Chicken and Egg situation all over again like when I scaled mobile device payments and security in China from 2008-2013. No matter what, most of the World’s consumer electronics hardware is built in the Greater Chinese World. You guys just talked Birds Eye level stuff, as I predict Vietnam will play a critical role in 2024 for ramping up semiconductor chip production and this China +1 strategy for GenAi will make a big impact for China and the USA there. My ten cents worth, Karl Weaver 魏卡爾

  • @Souchirouu

    I honestly cannot see the US winning this even if they get to AGI first.
    It doesn't matter what your AI tells you if you don't have the physical capacity to execute it you first have to spend a lot of time and resources building this. China has by far the most advanced supply chain, it buys the majority of industrial robots and has been hard at work on automating just about everything.. which is exactly the infrastructure AI needs to do its thing.
    China also has the right culture to do this. The Chinese people are used to change, they are generally well educated and used to switching jobs. They are also not stuck to a rent based living arrangement, the west considered China crazy for building all those massive empty cities.. those are going to be the first full AI cities. Meanwhile half of America's political space wants to turn their country into a Christian Ethno-state.
    China also has the advantage that it doesn't need to deal with sudo-democracy meaning it can get away with implementing regular AI in many aspects of their society, especially in the government. China like any nation struggles with corruption but politicians, especially local politicians, are some of the easiest to replace with AI. Same goes for top CEO's.. they are just a risk for stability at this point as can clearly be seen in America where the wealthy CEO's and major investors have more say in congress than the entire rest of the citizenship combined.
    That and China actually understands that we don't all have to think exactly the same, all have same religions or cultures. China has shown again and again to be willing to work with anyone as long as it leads to a mutually beneficial relationship. Meanwhile the US in global politics is what Israel is in Palestine. They don't know how to do politics without bombs and cultural oppression.

  • @trekpac2
    @trekpac2 3 месяца назад +11

    Cyrus, you are now connected to so many scholarly people and you have the ability to put together a picture that is second to none. Just excellent work, buddy.
    With China annually installing 60% of the world’s industrial robots and it having 70% of the world’s installed 5G base stations, it is half-way done winning the industrial manufacturing war. It will continue to increasingly dominate many areas all the way to 2050 because of the tenacity by which it pursues everything and dominates whole production chains.
    The US appears to be complacently steering itself over a cliff. I don’t think it is capable of reversing the outgoing tide it is now caught in. But the least it can do to ease the collapse is to fully collaborate with China.

That's going to be a very difficult job since the US is the most powerful military power in the world and has more guns in the hands of civilians than there are people in the US.
