"As non jackal-like as possible" 🤣 How many people get to say that in their lifetime? Cool encounters with those pups. Great shots! Is that colony "protected" from hunters?
haha yes I tried my best non jackal behaviour!! :) The colony isn't necessarily protected totally from hunting unfortunately (it is done with a licence of some sorts so it is very limited).
Agreed. This was uncomfortable to watch. The OCN team in comparison have a real good reason to go in there, and they know not to disturb the colony when pups are around that can't yet swim.
That looked like you had a blast of fun. I love when he says"I think they are getting used to my presence" then a short while later he sits close to the young ones and they all run away🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂 I loved the video thanks.
You could learn a thing or two from Ocean Conservation Namibia that go out to free seals from fishing line, net and ocean debris entanglements. It was irresponsible to disturb these seals during breeding season for your own enjoyment and youtube likes. There are huge adults and young pups in the colony can get trampled or injured. Pups that can't swim can get pushed into the water if the 'stampede' adults rushes into the waves. The OCN team specifically avoids disturbing colonies when there are mothers trying to feed days or week-old pups until most of the pups can swim. That said, I do love that you are doing this to show people how amazing animals are. I just hope you can reflect on a better way and consider the impact of your own actions.
OMG I'm in love literally!!! I LOVE baby seals and how fragile they can be. I wish I could do that 😔 but I'm happy you got to at least! Amazing as always ❤️
I'm your new fan. I've come from Ocean Conservation Namibia's channel and this video filled me with joy without the discomfort of the elements, the smell and the risk of being bitten lol. Thank you!
I like your videos when you ever get close to a baby harbor seal in this area are you win they may think you’re in a predator of the touching still so this must mean the baby seals who owns in seals were just born must protect
I wonder how many baby seals got killed or trampled by the adults when you went out there disturbing them during breeding season? How can you call yourself a zoologist and then go and do something like that? You need to watch OCN's videos next time you want to see fur seals so you know the proper time of year to do it! You should have coordinated your trip with them and they would have told you no way fool! How sad for those babies.
Hi Kelly, I think you have slightly exaggerated here,, I can assure you that the very minimal disturbance made was no more than a jackal. Not only that you are attacking a video that is clearly promoting the beauty of these animals in their natural habitat. The reality is these seals , these very seals, are slaughtered every year in their thousands for fur, which this video alludes to. They are also killed by plastic. And naturally by predators. Slight disturbance by predators is natural. Thank you, Jack
@@MadeintheWild Whether or not their natural predators would disturb them does not make it all right for you to do so. 15-Distance to be kept by persons on land (1) A person who is on land must not move closer than 30 metres to a seal or sea lion (whether the seal or sea lion is on land or in water). (2) A person who is on land must not move closer than 50 metres to a marine mammal (whether the marine mammal is on land or in water) if the marine mammal- (a) shows signs of disturbance; or (b) appears to be sick or injured; or (c) is stranded; or (d) is entangled or otherwise physically incapacitated by material of human origin; or (e) is a calf or pup. (3) Subregulation (1) or (2) does not apply if a person is on a prescribed viewing structure and no seal or sea lion is present on the structure at the same time. (4) If a seal or sea lion present on a prescribed viewing structure moves closer than 30 metres to a person, the person must maintain his or her position on the structure or move away from the seal or sea lion

Первый раз вижу, что так бережно относятся к этим прекрасным созданиям😊
You are so out of place and yet exactly what I would want to do...be amongst them as close as I can get! Those pups are adorable ❤
Perfect soundtrack musically speaking
They run so cuuuuute ❤😭
They’re the best !! Hope all is well Maritza! 💫
7:36 "it's ok" as he slowly gets into a predator stance

Thank you Najlae! 💫 Have you been watching the past few weeks videos? Jack :)
Yess , I watched them
I have never seen someone with a zoology background disturb wildlife as much as you did in this video... great job
Here's an idea. How about you go along with the OCN team on their many rescues and learn from them .. Zoologist my arse!!
Agreed. This was uncomfortable to watch. The OCN team in comparison have a real good reason to go in there, and they know not to disturb the colony when pups are around that can't yet swim.
What a cutie! The seal pups are cute too

they are so cute to me! made my day and love your videos!💚😊
Wooo thanks so much for appreciating Romella!! Jack :)
You shouldn't disturb them for your pleasure. They shouldn't come to contact with wild life.
Awesome Jack, i love your videos 💚🦭👏🏻✨
Thank you Omara glad you liked this video! One of my favourites!! Jack

Where can we get an appropriate training for handling wild animals?
Lots of families 😲😅😂
Waaaw amazing 💫😍
Thank you for appreciating!! 💫💚💫
😍🥰🥰💕👍👍

@@MadeintheWild ❣❣💋💋💞✌✌
I love you
Best moment : 7:35
How was that water???!?? It looked quite cold
Seriously cold !! Also the currents are incredibly strong there, so I couldn't go out as far as I wanted to!! :)
waaw
4:18 I wonder if it's threatening or teasing Jack
How do seals deal with pressure variations in deep waters? And how about the oxygen variations? Do they get bends?
Whales , seals and dolphins are aquatic mammals . Are they evolutionarily related even though so different?
Until the bite you 🤣 Next time, get a experienced guide before you go disturbing wild animals
Jack are geneticists welcomed to your crew?
I often work with geneticists absolutely!! Really important role if doing rapid biodiversity surveys in particular :) Jack
Okay 😀
If you don't watch Jack Randall's videos you are going to hell , I don't do that ❤️ awesome man one day im gonna meet you 😎

They kill thousands of pups there each year, so that is probably why they run. It is very sad
Should hv brought them a snack
