Great video! I stayed 6 years in Thailand but just 6 months a year in Taiwan! I am just a beginner and I thought maybe I could understand about half, however, I think I understood 90% because you speak so clearly and at a pace that my brain can just keep up with. Also, your story was extremely captivating so I was fully engaged. I have lived and worked in many countries in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia and I can relate to how difficult it is for so many people to find their place in this world. Most are trapped and have to just accept their pre-arranged life. You are an inspiration to others. I am so happy I found your channel, you have a great talent in teaching. You should have far more subscribers. I will be following all your videos and making comments from now on. THANK YOU.
You're too modest, you must definitely be at an intermediate level if you could understand 90%, though she does speak extremely clearly with good narration!
@@cbrtdgh4210 Ha ha, I have been sort of stuck at the same beginner level for 6 months repeating everything over and over. I feel I should be 100% sure before moving past this level. Maybe your comment struck a chord and I should get out of my comfort zone and move a bit higher. 👍
@@ronross9752 I've been learning for 4 years and still didn't understand 100% of the vocabulary. I use Du Chinese (app) and Mandarin Corner (RUclips) as well for intermediate listening/reading practice.
@@cbrtdgh4210 Thanks for your message. I have also watched/listen to many of Mandarin Corner videos repeatedly. I had never seen the Du Chinese (app) before so I checked it out. Wow.....I wish I had found this one before as it is a great learning tool. I spend 2 to 3 hours every day trying to learn. Unfortunately, the physical Mandarin school I was supposed to start studying at here in The Netherlands got shut down because of the Covid 19 situation. I am delighted to have stumbled on ShuoShuoChinese channel in the last week and now to discover Du Chinese. Thank you, I am sure I will advance a bit faster.
Your voice is crystal clear and I'm really appreciated when you put the subtitle on the video which is very easy for me to follow along and picking up some new words. Please don't stop what you are doing!
From Iran we have also somehow common issues that you have mentioned... It depends on people perspective and insights toward life... And me personally have some problems with these issues and want to experience the other life... With respect to my culture and country
I was born on the southern peninsula in China and was adopted at 10 months old. Recently I've been trying my best to squeeze in some learning to speak Chinese. I love your videos and they are so helpful. Keep doing what makes you happy :)
I was impressd by your brave ideas. Japan, my home country, is also too monotonous. I can relate to your opinion that interacting with many people in the world is good. Meeting with new people makes our life fantastic. So I'd like to study hard Chinese more !!!! Thank you for your video 😊
I have Japanese students and they told me that these days Japanese young people are more open-minded, even though they will usually be shy to speak English😂 But your English is absolutely great! And you are learning Chinese now, impressive!
75%. I am an American who left USA for slightly similar reasons about work. I left to Thailand and lived in Chiang Mai for 4 years. Currently I am in Vietnam (for too long thanks to the pandemic) and I miss Thailand very much. I do want to see China for myself, but I don't think I will want to stay there long term either, as an unmarried 30+ woman myself. The great thing about Mandarin is that there are Mandarin speakers everywhere! I am happy that you did what was best for you and you are doing something you are passionate about! Keep being sharing your light
This is not meant as a criticism, but it sounds like you want to be more like a westerner, with its individualism. Why do you suppose that you are so different from most Chinese people? What influenced you? Also, as far as internet, can you access VPN in China?
Yes, that is a true statement! Having known many Chinese people and lived in China, I learned that most of them do have that way of thinking about the world. They think there are two basic groups of people: Chinese and “foreigners”. Chinese often have misconceptions that “Chinese people do things this way, and foreigners do things that way.” Really, there are many different cultures in the world. Chinese culture is just one among many, and there are no generalizations that can be made about “foreigners”.
holy cow! your speaking speed is perfect!!! i actually understood about 60-70% of what you spoke. I must tell my tutor right away. she'll be very proud. excellent video and explination! Thank you so much!
This video was the best listening practice I've ever had. Although I could only understand about 80%, It was good enough. This surely makes me wanna study Chinese even harder
I understood a lot of vocabulary. I’m in my first semester of studying Chinese. I live in the US and in a very multicultural society. Foreigners from around the world live here. I couldn’t imagine it any other way. I’m like you and love the warm weather. Hawaii has the ideal climate for me. Live where you feel most happiest. I’ve never been to China so I can’t comment on it but I’d love to travel there one day. Every country has its pros and cons. There is no utopia. Before the pandemic I loved to travel but my wings have been clipped. This has allowed me time to study Chinese. I have a long road ahead of me and many challenges. Thank you for sharing your story.
Thank you for the video. I want to watch it a second time. You are such a brave person to move to another country without speaking the language! You are an inspiration to the rest of us!
This kind of video is really great! I am a retired elementary teacher and i am presently learning Mandarin. I enjoy listening and having the subtitles in english and Chinese characters. I am presently starting hsk 4 level. Please continue with more videos like this.
I’m an expat living in China for 7 years already… What you’ve said about the mindset here is spot on. It is so difficult to have ‘normal’ conversations with my Chinese friends. I find that my conversations are all so shallow and meaningless and so nationalistic to the point that I prefer to just stick to meaningless simple conversations. Yet it remains an extremely convenient place to live - I love wechat and taobao and that’s prob the only reason I haven’t left yet 😂
That is true of any country. very few people can sustain a meaningful conversation, try chat to an American if you want Jingoistic illogical thinking. Yet just as in China there are people who can discuss rationally and yet still be patriotic, so too there are Americans. Of course it could be that my conversation is shallow and meaningless to them so that is how they respond.
Both China and the US have extremes of culture: excessive collectivism versus excessive individualism. I wish the two countries would learn from each other and enjoy a little more balance. I found this video inspiring and I’m so impressed that you followed your heart towards a life that makes *you* happy. That way, you can bring more of that happiness to others, as you have done. Somehow, your rejection of collectivism makes you *more* valuable to the collective, i.e. all the other people around you. You could not contribute so much if you were trapped in a miserable job, or a miserable life. Jīa yóu!!!
I truly appreciate your story, your teaching ability, the way you speak so clearly and in a way that’s easy to study, as well as your approach to producing your video content. Liked and subscribed!
Thank you for this video! I feel that frustrations you have with your country are the same frustrations a lot of people have with the country they were born in and spent most of their lives in. Time and familiarity breeds a kind of boredom and restlessness for some people (while for others, it's comfort and a reason to stay put). It's a necessary thing for the world to move around.
Sounds more like she hates the social order, and not because it's too "familiar". If it wasn't for the internet and western media, most of China would not know how conservative and repressed their beliefs and lives are. China is a huge place, and no one can truly be bored with it or too familiar with anything, in theory. It's the government itself, in it's effort to control everything and make a singular state, has turned everything homogenous and "boring".
@@aoikemono6414 Well, she liked my comment, so I can't be completely wrong 🤷🏻♀️ China is certainly neither conservative nor repressed lol I'm Canadian and people move around or live in other countries all the time. Literally, you'll always find a Canadian in some corner of the world. Some of us are just born to travel. Sometimes, at the ordinary people level, the government isn't that important.
I am Canadian, and have lived and traveled in many countries. I understand your frustrations with China, as I have experienced a lot of them living here for the past year. However, I am so glad to have the chance to live this experience - as China is so closed off from the rest of the world, I've had the chance to face my own prejudices, learn about a beautiful culture and lifestyle. As for the closed-mindedness, while it may be exaggerated in China because of the restricted internet access, I've found that trait in every country. Things are changing as many Chinese young adults are studying abroad and bringing their experiences back. Funny thing about the “你应该。。。” though - it's a common source of tension between me and my Chinese friends/boyfriend... but I realized they don't actually want to tell me what do, but it's a way of showing they care. But independent, 28-year old me doesn't want people telling me to button up my sweater! LOL
So glad you made it to see the beautiful side of China, and I agree with you that most people are just trying to show that they care, but words can influence people unconsciously😆
I have also been living and studying here for 1 year Alexandra and your response really spoke to my heart. I have lived in a few different countries in Asia and I have come to learn there are positives and negatives about any country you go to. Sometimes when we experience a country for too long and are educated enough. We are able to recognize many things. Let's keep experiencing the world and implementing the positive things into our lives and discarding what is not needed.
So true. I have found its like this in every country I've lived (Germany, Netherlands, Spain) incl home country Australia. Seems like no matter where you're from there's always Conservative people (normally nationalist to some degree) who close themself off from the world and purposefully don't want to interact with people from anywhere else or that look different or speak different to them. Even the ones that aren't overt bigots still think their country is the centre of the world and everyone else is alien. But the world becomes more international everyday, at least I feel like younger generations feel that way (Internet generation), so these people will be left behind culturally in a way. I got hope for the future.
@@madeline569 Huh, that's mostly true for older people. I'm a religious believer + conservative in terms of politics, and I still love learning about other cultures, and I speak multiple languages.
Girl, You are an outstanding teacher, and we have to treasure you for all you have helped us accomplish so far! Teachers probably look up to you! Congrats!
At age 66 I like to understand better about the world and trying to learn a bit about China including the language is very interesting. These ShuoShuo videos are excellent. You are so clear to listen to and seeing the characters and translation is most helpful. Thankyou
I have been learning Chinese for about 4 months. I accidently found your channel and I find it exceptionally interesting and useful for me. I hope to learn more from you.
Oh dear, this is a common misconseption of a fairly fresh migrant, that in a new country there's no social pressure and nobody "tells you what to do". So happy to escape the "boring" rules they don't see the net of different rules, until they live in the new society for a bit longer and get tangled in the new net of rules and limitations. Then they might even start to perceive pressure of the old society as "darling old home". The bottom line is, there's no society without social pressure. I'm a migrant myself, left my old home almost 30 years ago to live on the other side of the globe.
This is some of the best listening practice for my level that I've ever heard. I appreciate the choice of topic, it's much more interesting than most listening practice. Would love to hear more like this. I understood about 50%, and I'm listening multiple times to catch more of the vocab. Thanks so much for making this!
Thank you for the great video! I was stuck on this video a few months ago and now can better understand it. Just wanted you to know that people are still finding these slightly older videos very helpful!
Oh man this is great! You enunciate clearly which is critical, but your speaking speed, while perhaps a bit slow to be considered natural, is absolutely perfect for my skill level. Thank you!
Hi, accidentally bump into ur video, i understand you completely , i am a 30 year old thai but have spend 5 years in china. I saw the same problem in china that u see, but i also saw the good things about china and fell in live with it. I hope thailand will treat you well. I know finding friends is hard in thailand, i am base in bangkok for now and if u need friends to talk to , i will be very happy as i am in need of chinese speaking friends too.
I"m glad you made this freedom choice! You are now free in mind and spirit . You friends and family are proud of you and understand. I live in Austin tx and we are very much a combination of all thoughts and people. take care and stay in touch with all of us
Honestly, some of the reasons that you mentioned are exactly why I want to leave my country too. Most people in my country are closed minded too and the society always want to boss around like, you shouldn't do this you should do that, get married early, do not dream, only work because apparently for them that's the best life...study hard and work. And I don't want to live like this. I am currently 22 as well. I want to explore and learn new things and do what I love in life and meet new people from every walk of life and experience new things. That's something really wonderful to me. Doesn't mean that I hate my country, I just hate this close mindedness of the society. I loved this video. Instantly subscribed 😁. Love and support from my side ❤️
Everybody has different experiences during life and each person makes their choices on those experiences and it is interesting learning why people make the choices they make
i like how you said you work 7 days and arent tired. that would be because you are doing what you know is right for you to do. when you are doing what you know is right, you have energy. when you do what you know is wrong, you are depressed and experience the consequences. so it's a good message, that life is a choice. i know many chinese people who feel as you do about living in china, but i also know many others who are happy because they do what they know is right. because it does not really matter where you live or what your circumstances are, what a government does or what people around you say and do, the only thing that determines your happiness is whether you do what you know is right, and you can always do that i also like the way you teach chinese with chinese characters, pinyin w/ yindiao, and english subtitles, speaking colloquially instead of formally-- closer to the way we hear chinese in the street
I think it's a great opportunity to be able to live outside of your country to get another life experience. The "freedom" that we acquire abroad that we might not get if we live among our countrymen. This is quite a common feeling, regardless of any country in my opinion.
I'm a Mexican trying to connect with my Chinese roots. I'm so grateful with you for taking the time to speak slowly, gesticulate and add subtitles so that we (beginners) can understand. These videos are my favorite and I feel like my great grandfather is looking down and smiling,
Same. I just wanted to hug her. It’s so mind blowing that she grew up in a generally collectivist, conformist society but still chose her own way to see the world. I am just flattened by the strength of mind and character that would take. It’s inspiring.
Good advice from a smart lady. It took me till about 34 to decide to change my life. Nice to see no matter what system you grow up in, you still think for yourself, oh and Thailand is amazing, i spent two years there and learnt Thai, best two years of my life.
I really like your story and reasons for leaving China. However, have been teaching different languages in China at a university for eight years. Teaching is tightly controlled everywhere and every university has special monitors. As a foreigner I have been especially ‘supervised’, but I don’t care. I love to teach and only teach languages, not ideology. Your teaching is excellent and your style most certainly is very different from the boiler plate approach so prevalent in China.
I have similar thoughts. I’m from America. I was teaching in China, until the epidemic forced me to stay in America. Life in China is so interesting. It’s challenging, but also fun and rewarding. I hope to go back.
30803080308030803081 i taught in Shanghai for 2 years and they were the happiest of my life. Tried to go back in March but weren’t able to get visa. Check visa centre website everyday to see if I can go back but alas no luck as of yet... God I miss it
Lol, I'm also English and living in China now... I can't wait to leave and get a real job in a free country with food that won't destroy my stomach and air that won't destroy my lungs. To each their own I guess
I'm studying for HSK3rd and 4th grade test^_^ now, so i'd love to watch your youtube channel to keep up my listening skill.
I admire your independent spirit and self-awareness. You are very smart to protect your mental health. You are an excellent and delightful teacher of Chinese. Wishing you the very best.
I am a beginner, but the more I watch your videos and listen, the more I understand both reading and speech. I like to hear how Chinese words are actually pronounced. Also, I congratulate you for your independent thinking.
That means u probably lives a privileged life and don’t understand the difficulties of working class people. “每天只能知道工作而已。”you don’t easily say this kinda shit without living in a privileged yet disconnected life style. What a cruel world you just showed to people. ”幸福和快乐”, that is easy for you to say.
I am a Cheese teacher. Just find your channel lately, and I love it! I have introduced your channel to my students and many of them like your work. I also have played some of your videos in my classroom :). Thank you for sharing! I definitely will introduce this one to my higher-level students.
I'm a US citizen, my son lives in Shanghai, and I've visited China 4 times in the past 10 years. I've been to many places in China, including 3 times to Liaoning province where I have friends, not a place many foreigners visit. I really enjoy traveling in China, I've only had good experiences with Chinese people, and if there are prejudices against foreigners I haven't noticed them. I think it's very important for Westerners and Chinese people to experience each other's countries, so that we can learn that despite the differences in culture, we have a lot in common. Thanks for this video, I understood a lot (though not everything, I'm still very much learning).
I am from Bangladesh. I want to learn Chinese but i found it very difficult. Thank you very much for your concern. Your teaching method is dynamic and i loved it. I like the people who want to live independently . I also like your thinking method mam . Thanks a lot mam.
I lived in China for 2 years! I like China very much; the culture, the language and how friendly you guys are.. at least I can talk about my own experience.. of course I lived with foreign privileges but also with Chinese conditions, I saw the differences between them and so on. China gave me nice moments and friends, that’s why I’m still learning the language. btw I like your channel very much! I’m a new subscriber ✌🏾✌🏾 greetings from Germany.
I've just given you a big fat thumbs up and subscribed. Your format is perfect for me as a Chinese Malaysian who can speak and understand your content but needed to learn to read/recognise the characters. Thank you for creating this channel which I've found most suitable for me. As a side remark, I feel sorry for you leaving China but honestly, Thailand is a fabulous country to live in too especially if you like Thai food as I do. One major barrier is the official Thai language which perhaps you've already overcome by now. On the other hand, China is also a good place to live too and I've considered moving there after living in HK for many years as I do not mind negative reasons as you stated. VNP would help me get connected easily.
I am learning Chinese for a year now at the university. I understood around 97%. There were some new words, which we didn't have in our classes, but I still could follow. I hope there are more videos with the HSK4 level. Thank you for the content.
This was a great video, thank you for being honest about some of the societal problems in China.. It can always change, and things can always be better. But right now, it's not that way. Hopefully someday us foreigner Chinese learners can speak freely with the people of China and share cultural ideas, for a better world for everyone.
I only listened to the language and looked at the characters trying to absorb it. Many characters were familiar to me, but I couldn't put all pieces together at once without pausing the video. Instead at the end of each phrase I just briefly looked at the En translation :D I miss listening to Chinese a lot, especially limited by a shorter vocabulary (up to HSK3/4), especially with subtitles as well as translations :) So I appreciate what you do so much.
keep working bro, cuz learning language needs frequent practice. as a Chinese student who has learned Tofel for many months, I used to have many problems with Tofel listening
Thanks for this video! I appreciate all of the different subtitles so I can come back multiple times and study the grammar and vocab. :) Congratulations on your successful transition to Thailand and good luck with everything!
Love this video, would love to see more videos using this level type of vocabulary. It’s great to find useful Chinese learning content from native speaking teachers
What did you mean exactly by the "convenient daily life in China"? I know someone in China really struggling with some of the exact same things you mentioned! I sent them the link to this video
Great video.Right speed of speaking.Very thoughtful of you to include both hanzi snd pinyin.I can go at my own pace.Jia you! Keep up the excellent work.Rick/Seattle
I loved this video. I studied Mandarin for two academic years 50+ years ago and want to "take it out of mothballs". My favorite class was in Classical Chinese, but they only offered one semester of that. My favorite period of Chinese history was the Tang Dynasty. So, I was disappointed when I visited modern China in 1985. But, I still want to keep my connection with what is left of that ancient culture, so much of which got destroyed in the Cultural Revolution. I think I will be repeating this lesson over and over until I can understand it without reading the new simplified characters and the pinyin and translation. Thank you for telling your story. I really admire independent people like you who, if they aren't happy with their life, take action to change it. I recently was requested to witness the wedding of two Chinese male foreign students from 大陆 who could not get married back home. Like you, I could not live under such a restrictive regimen. Two thumbs up to you!!!
Literally everything you described applies to India too 😭😭🤣🤣. I guess it's the Asian culture in general. Some like it, some don't. Personally I'd love to live in China one day.
Super nice video. Looks like my HSK level is definitely good enough for this video. Also, you really made it easier by using a really good talking speed and speaking very clearly.
Only one word i didnt know.😌 So i can say i understand 99%. But it is interesting to know more about yourself. We have a very similarity in way of life, haha. But yours have better condition, and you realized it sooner.
Hello Your Speed while you are talking is the perfect speed for a foreigner like me to understand what you are saying. And I was surprised how much I understood. I definitely can understand while you left china. Doing a job you dont like and not being happy is something that shouldn't be normal. Because I wasnt happy with my own education . But now I found what I want to do I want to translate in different languages to help people to understand the another cultures and be more open mind to another countries. And watching your videos is encouraging me to do my best . Thank you
Thank you so much for this content! Very interesting and so useful. I have forgotten so much of my Chinese and this is so helpful for me. I don't understand how come I have found this only now. Your speed is perfect and I can understand very clearly what you say even though I don't know several words. Subtitles are so useful also for pronunciation. I hope you make more videos like this because it's great to refresh Chinese and it's so difficult when you are neither a beginner nor an advanced student, because I have trouble reading normal Chinese text, since I am not advanced.
I accidently came across your video and initially I was skeptical but I decided to listen anyway. From the start I was hooked. Truly the best conversational video out there. I would appreciate it if you would please post more lenthy videos about China. This is a double-win. People wish to learn Chinese and simultanously hear and learn Chinese. An ideal time limit would be 10-15 minutes. I especially like the way you posted the Chinese characters, English and pingyin. Awesome job. Soon you'll have a massive following. Xiexie
your english has really improved in the last two years! not that you speak badly here whatsoever, but after listening to your most recent videos, you made mistakes here that I haven't heard in your newer videos. great job!
Your story is inspiring. My Chinese teachers in college exposed us to "real life" Chinese for listening; announcements over the loudspeaker in a crowded train station or airport, advertisements on the radio... listening to you made me realize just how intensive my language training in Chinese was because they spoke to us 95% of the time in Chinese at the same speed they would speak at home. I had Taiwanese teachers, teachers from Beijing, from Shanghai and from Lanzhou. So even though I've done no focused listening in Chinese for the last 12 years or so, I understood probably 65% or more of your story without looking at the subtitles. =) I just can't read anymore, and I have to think a lot longer before trying to speak Chinese anymore. I forget common words I could easily use in conversation after graduation. =( I really hope you are thriving here as a Chinese language teacher. Thank you for sharing your story!
I was convinced I can understand HSK2 videos at most, but surprisingly I was able to understand the majority of this one. Thank you for creating this vid, I've really enjoyed it!
I understood 80% of it by reading the pinyin and listening to the story! You are remarkable and very courageous. As a Chinese learner for the past 3 years, now preparing HSK4, I truly value your videos. Opposite to you, I sometimes dream of going back and live in China! (I currently live in Canada, where is also too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter). Keep it up girl :)
Hey!! This kind of video is extremely nice for Chinese learners, it helps a lot! You should definitely keep doing those, that’s an amazing work! I’m so happy found out this material in youtube.
I respect your choice to leave China to live in Thailand. to follow your dream. But I feel your idea that the Chinese only think of two countries-China and the other country, is too simple and out-of-date. To date, there are many millions of Chinese travelling and studying overseas. For example, when I studied my master degree at the University of Sydney 90% of the students were from China. My friend in Beijing knew there was a big bush-fire in Sydney, we talk to each other through Facebook. A lot of Chinese know what the Five Eyes countries (the US, England, Canada, Australia and NZ) are following the US orders to harm China or China's interest.
Students who get the chance to study abroad and Chinese people who share a daily life with foreign people and culture are open minded. But most of chinese people don't travel much, even inside of the country itself. (and when they do its really rich people). Chinese people working in a foreign country for a while tend to stick with each other and then don't blend with the local. There s still this really thick patriotic feel that even they acknowledge others countries it still China and the others. Adding to the traditional culture, a controlled internet and media. Etc.... Also even chinese people who were born outside of China tend to be pretty traditional and narrow-minded. The newer generation might begin to change it however as I said... Most of them didn't get the chance to travel abroad.
If you studied in Sydney and were surrounded by 90% chinese students speaking in Mandarin. . can you say you really left China? From your statement I feel like you never left the bubble of Chinese propaganda.
False. The majority of Chinese still see all other countries as either "foreign barbarians" or "America's lapdogs." They have a very limited understanding of other countries due to their limited media and education. Source: I have been living in China for the past three years and I work in Chinese education.
The internet has led to me meeting a lot of people, including a few Chinese people! A few were from the mainland, some were from the Taiwanese island, but they’re all really nice. I’m always curious about what life in other countries is like, but I’ve always been nervous to ask.. it’s really lovely to hear this!
You don't represent everyone in any country. Appreciate your work but stop talking like you know the country because you were born there. It's disgusting. Since you have a master's degree and full access to the internet, you should have done better research on the topic you talked about.
She is expressing her opinion. That’s something many in China CANNOT do. You should respect her point of view. I wonder why you are you so sensitive about someone criticizing China. Could it be in your heart you know she’s right?

"live where you feel the happiest": among the places you are legally allowed to live and work...
Thank you for the video. I want to watch it a second time. You are such a brave person to move to another country without speaking the language! You are an inspiration to the rest of us!
Thank you!
You're incredible for thinking this way despite being a native. I've only come across a few Chinese people who think like this and it gives me hope!
China the best country 🇨🇳❤️ glory to our great leader Xi jinping
@@jujubalaser 😅😅😅😅😅
That is true of any country. very few people can sustain a meaningful conversation, try chat to an American if you want Jingoistic illogical thinking. Yet just as in China there are people who can discuss rationally and yet still be patriotic, so too there are Americans. Of course it could be that my conversation is shallow and meaningless to them so that is how they respond.
What brought you to China?

Both China and the US have extremes of culture: excessive collectivism versus excessive individualism. I wish the two countries would learn from each other and enjoy a little more balance. I found this video inspiring and I’m so impressed that you followed your heart towards a life that makes *you* happy. That way, you can bring more of that happiness to others, as you have done. Somehow, your rejection of collectivism makes you *more* valuable to the collective, i.e. all the other people around you. You could not contribute so much if you were trapped in a miserable job, or a miserable life. Jīa yóu!!!

@@aoikemono6414 Well, she liked my comment, so I can't be completely wrong 🤷🏻♀️ China is certainly neither conservative nor repressed lol
I'm Canadian and people move around or live in other countries all the time.

It’s all relative, no place on earth is perfect. Why? Bcos men made the rules , just like in good ol’ China!
This is some of the best listening practice for my level that I've ever heard. I appreciate the choice of topic, it's much more interesting than most listening practice.
Everybody has different experiences during life and each person makes their choices on those experiences and it is interesting learning why people make the choices they make
i like how you said you work 7 days and arent tired. that would be because you are doing what you know is right for you to do. when you are doing what you know is right, you have energy. when you do what you know is wrong, you are depressed and experience the consequences. so it's a good message, that life is a choice. i know many chinese people who feel as you do about living in china, but i also know many others who are happy because they do what they know is right. because it does not really matter where you live or what your circumstances are, what a government does or what people around you say and do, the only thing that determines your happiness is whether you do what you know is right, and you can always do that
i also like the way you teach chinese with chinese characters, pinyin w/ yindiao, and english subtitles, speaking colloquially instead of formally-- closer to the way we hear chinese in the street

I guess it's the Asian culture in general. Some like it, some don't. Personally I'd love to live in China one day.
Super nice video. Looks like my HSK level is definitely good enough for this video. Also, you really made it easier by using a really good talking speed and speaking very clearly.
Only one word i didnt know.😌
So i can say i understand 99%.
But it is interesting to know more about yourself.
We have a very similarity in way of life, haha. But yours have better condition, and you realized it sooner.
It's better later than never!
And I guess the word you didn't know is 限制 😝
@@ShuoshuoChinese nope it was 纹身😝
I wish you include them in future videos😝
*Just kidding,maybe thats too personal
Hello
Your Speed while you are talking is the perfect speed for a foreigner like me to understand what you are saying.
Thank you
姐姐come to Indonesia we need more Chinese teacher here 😂

Xiexie
"if you can understand 60%"
I am at 10%, let's go
I’m at 1% 😂
@@agnesfonmarten I can understand the pronouns xD
your english has really improved in the last two years! not that you speak badly here whatsoever, but after listening to your most recent videos, you made mistakes here that I haven't heard in your newer videos.
I really hope you are thriving here as a Chinese language teacher. Thank you for sharing your story!
I was convinced I can understand HSK2 videos at most, but surprisingly I was able to understand the majority of this one. Thank you for creating this vid, I've really enjoyed it!
why people keep saying learn "Chinese". Chinese is not a language. It's Mandarin.
It means a lot to me!
Hey!! This kind of video is extremely nice for Chinese learners, it helps a lot! You should definitely keep doing those, that’s an amazing work! I’m so happy found out this material in youtube.
Wow this is actually so amazing! Thank you for this ! The speed is perfect !
@@mcdoon2 i agree with V H, what exactly do you know? How terrible a person can be when she gets educated there and then she demonizes her own motherland. Why would we have to agree with her
this is so helpful for locking down everyday Chinese . You speak very clearly and it's easy to follow along. .
Xiong Shuo, thank you so much for these lessons. Your slow articulate delivery is really helpful, especially with han zi, pinyin and English.
