THANKS for the video! I can't wait to fire up my Fireboard 2! just got it. I am looking forward to not having to stay up all night babysitting my smoker! ;) I have a Weber Smokey Mountain, and I ordered the attachment accessory. Thanks for your review, it gave me confidence in my purchase!
Wasn't sure how the fan would slot into my Weber Kettle without a further adaptor but can see now. The battery is impressive. Will pull the trigger on a FB2, thank for the review from Australia!
@@Miiike604 if you dont mind me asking, what type of smoker do you use. I am using a weber smokey mountain. I gurrently use a BBQ guru but its more or less the base line version with no external monitoring over the internet.
Yw. We only ran the blower fan on the kettle grill. We installed a fan on the pit barrel prior to this video for another test series. However, the PBC doesn't need it -- it maintains steady temps between 250 - 275F long enough to complete a brisket without any mods.
I say go with FB2. The display screen and data views are great, and if you decide to hook up a fan the onboard controller is better than what you get with Signals -- you have to use it with their fan (Billows) and the controller itself isn't as advanced. However, keep in mind with FB2 you can't set high/low alarms from the device itself where you can with Signals.
For the blower access hole on your kettle, what are you using to plug it when you are not using the blower? Do you have tips for mounting the blower - i.e. location, etc - for your kettle? Also, what gloves are you using in the video to move and dump coals? Thank you.
Fireboard sells a nozzle adapter for their fan so you can control the direction of the airflow if mounting the fan on the lower portion of a kettle (Weber) grill. It also comes with a seal so you can close up the hole when you’re not using it (although I just use a wad of tin foil). Here’s a video Ted, the owner of Fireboard, in a video illustrating how to use their adapter ruclips.net/video/_H-M7zccTN4/видео.html. As for the gloves in the video, I’m using Pit Mitts: amzn.to/33yOC64.
Pro tip: fellas - you *SERIOUSLY* have to pic up proper mics and mic your videos correctly. No one likes hearing people talk in a room with a bunch of ambient room reverb going on - it sounds totally amateur. Please invest in some high quality clip on mics or good foley arms and condenser cardioids. Spend some time on your audio tracks. The videos themselves are very good, but listening to them is downright painful.
Looking for a controller , flame boss etc, this unit looks great ...I want WiFi, actual visual display at the cooker, and remote access via phone...is it Alexa capable? Please provide input
Yes, FB2 is Alexa and Google Assistant compatible. Basic commands like checking on temps, setting high/low alarms, fan speed control and such are preprogramed however we have not tested them.

The more I watch, the more I want a FB2Drive. Excellent video.
did you ever end up buying one?
@@chrisg2739 I did. Extremely pleased and worth the money. Also, overnight cooks got me sleeping better now.

@@chrisg2739 WSM and Kettle. So far so good.
Thanks for the review
Thanks for the review. Did have the fan on the pbc to maintain the temperature?

Which would you recommend fire board 2 or the thermal works signals?

Thanks for the feedback; we'll work them in on our upcoming BBQ gloves testing.

Sorry to hear that boss.
@Tomas Turhed: if you plan to criticize the dude's nails, at least use correct grammar. It's "to"; not "too".
