Great content: really appreciate coaching that suggests a new mental model.( 'less is more') This sport is very very mental; a bit like golf.

Love the visual of the horizontal plane at net height. It will be easy to envision the next time I play. Thank you!

Thank you for another excellent demonstration that's not an obvious discipline to build in, especially for those who dink too deeply probably in part from too much backswing or follow through.

Thanks for all the great content John…awesome as always.
Question about the ready positions: do you think Dylan would have had a better chance to get Ben’s speedup back if he’d had his paddle just *a little* higher?
I’ve always heard “protect the bullseye”, which also corresponds to “sit on the fastball”…there’s time to react to a slow shot.

Less is More ……. I try to apply this to my entire game. The probability of success increases as you simplify and do the “less” part of the “less is more” philosophy.

Tried it this morning and was surprised that my back swing is shorter and follow through is longer. So, I tried making them more even, like it appears your swing is.
Would you say your back swing and follow through are about the same length?

can you do a video on how to combat against players speeding up directly at you at your chest and at your neck. I mean, you have no leverage on the ball to defend it, your hand is not in an extended position to battle back and a lot more players are doing this because they know that you'll strike at it because you don't have enough time to judge if it's going out or even get out of the way if you think it's going to be out if it's hit really hard at your chest high shoulder neck area.

Nice video. Too long a follow thru means you have to somehow diffuse that unneeded power at impact- which leads to issues.

unfortunately, you never reach to the top if you still thinking what to do in 1/10 of the secons. Everything must come in a subconscious mind
