I think it’s great Wright Tool is committed to continues improvement. Wish Wright Tool future success 🇺🇸
Yep, love Wright tool co. I asked for Wright Tool Co. To send me a catalog and they sent me 2 two, so I gave the other one to my best friend mechanic & technician, so when I called Wright tool out in Ohio, you can't order from them directly, you have to order through one of there suppliers, so I found Abolox tools and supplies in Florida, bought the wrightgrip2.0 metric and sae sets and added a few more wrenchs to complete both set, so when one of my orders came and was missing the 1/4" 2.0 satin wrench, I called Abolox Tool supply and they sent me the missing wrench rite away no questions asked, so for any one out there that is interested in wrightgrip 2.0 wrenchs, I highly recommend ordering through Abolox Tools in Florida 🔧🔧🔧🔧🔧
@@shauncatlett6066 the 2.0 wrench have serated cuts or groves in the open end of the wrenchs that realy bite into a nut or bolt with minimal damage compared to other wrenchs whichever and is a plus to me
@@shauncatlett6066 hum? Not sure, all I know is that regular Wright grip wrenchs do not have the serated teeth in open end of wrench. The 2.0 wrightgrip2.0 open end has the serated teeth in open end of wrench. 🔧🔧🔧🔧🔧
I have the Original Wright Grip wrenches size 7-24mm full polish. Bought them 8 years ago. I was just starting out and a more experienced mechanic recommended them to me. They've never failed me. Just as good as the Snap-On flank drive. Saved me a lot of money and I have no complaints about them.
Have you experienced any issues with the chrome? 😁
20 years and my Snap-On Flank drives are still going strong! Wright is a great wrench too.
Got that Snappy Wright
I’ve been impressed with all the Wright tools I’ve been using. Love that they are USA 🇺🇸 made. Great comparison
Sheared and rounded bolts with the grand finale of a broken vise....brings back very bad memories....I think for price and comfort alone the Wright is right for me. Thank you Mr. S. for sacrificing your vice for us!😊
Screw this video! Breaking big old vices bring a tear to my eyes. Still remember the sad day too
I have a black oxide set of wrights I use professionally- I prefer them over my snapons. The box end just seems machined better, half rounded fasteners it really makes a difference!
I agree side by side hex driver sockets look better than proto, sunex, snapon, gear wrench. Just a well made tool
OH and Wright uses USA sourced steel
My favorite ratchet set used for forty years are Wright Tools, just love it.
I'm a Snap On junkie, but Wright makes tools that Snap on doesn't. Example, 3/4 drive and 1" drive hex driver sockets. I tried the Sunex and broke those first time using them. Warranty says they'll have me a replacement next year sometime. The Wright are very good. They look higher quality than any other brand.
They are local to me (Ohio). They are hard to find locally but are pretty common in the industrial world. I really took a liking to them when I was given a set on a new construction job. Been using them ever since. I love the extra length on the double box end set but the thickness of the head can sometimes be an issue in tighter clearances spots
My dealer upgraded my flank drive metric set to flank drive plus for $100 many years ago. Money well spent. I can only recall 2 times where the open end has started to round off a fastener in 15 years.
That wrench spread from wear, turn it in.
@@gweasbawl9611 wrench is fine.
Edit: both wrenches are fine.
Weight grip 2.0 for the win
Snap-on has the thickness and length well-tuned to the needs of auto mechanics.
Woohoo Im excited for this vid, got my first set of flank drive plus wrenches a little while ago, but definitely willing to try some other brands!!!!!!!!
Yep Daron, me too, got the Snap-on 38 piece master set and both sets of the Wrightgrip2.0 sets 🔧🔧🔧🔧🔧
I have both metric and SAE sets of wright grip. They definitely have a power as much as snap on. The only thing I recommend is they thin out the wrenches just a bit. They are quite bulky for the hard to reach areas. From the open head to the box end they are super thick. Just a suggestion is all other than that they are awesome!
This is exactly what I have been waiting to see, thanks for making this video.
I’ve been waiting for this video!
The other day I was riding my road bicycle and found an 11 mm Snap On wrench like that one on the shoulder of the road, shiny, not a single scratch. I have a less expensive set that did not include an 11 mm wrench. I was looking to see of there were more but no lol...
I like the wrights with black oxide finish
I know me too, might get an other set just to have all 3 finishes
I know this is old post but why do you like the black oxide? I have some but very easy to lose because they blend in with grease and machine parts.
Been using flank drive plus since Snap-on introduced them back whenever many years back. Must say they're the best wrenches I've ever owned.
Wright for the win!
I recently bought the Wright Metric Set 752 and used the to replace some tie rod ends, I am so impressed as compared to other wrenches that I've used. I'm saving up to buy the SAE set you have. I will be buying them soon.
Where can you buy wright tools?
Wright and Armstrong are my go-to tools for work.
The high strength Chinesium vise failed.
Wright wrench is so strong it broke the vice lol
Great video 👍
Maybe you should get a FireBall Tool Hardtail vise.
You need a WiLton bench vise , my friend
I like my my wrights but they are bulky when working in tighter clearances. The heads are thicker than some wrenches geared towards automotive specific use.
Well,,,,,, if anyone is in the business of sheering bolt heads ,,,,you know ,,,they know where to go..
Those are the long handle snap ones, they make regular, stubby, a d long handle end wrench sets...
great comparison
Thanks!
Thank you.
I have both they're comparable
I follow you on tik tok 😎
Love my wright grips but I really wish I bought the satin sets, if anyone wants to trade let me know, mine metric and sae sets are barely used
I know Andy Brooks, so I could not decide which finish, so I got the metric in full chrome polish set and got the sae set in satin , I don't know, I like them both 🔧🔧🔧🔧🔧
Why? I got the satin box end wrenches (love them. Longer than Snap-on) but wish they were chrome
@@Freakingstang I got same capri ratcheting wrenches in there satin type finish and love them also used a buddy's older blue point satin wrenches and wish I had satin, I also work on bobcat equipment which is a hydraulic oil mess, satin offers just a little bit more grip vs chrome, and also I just really like the look of satin, maybe because I grew up with craftsman im not sure
@@andybrooks4070 yes sir Andy, I agree with u, grew up on USA craftsman tools
If I bought in satin, I'd probably kept the set. There's about $50 to upgrade to the chrome. The same exact wrench and chrome vs satin is more of a preference than upgrade.
Mr Subaru, any brand recommendations for 2016 Forester AC clutch? Compressor is working, r134a charge is good. Clutch is noisy. Limited 2.5L CVT.
You'll have to replace the compressor. Haven't found a source for the clutch alone.
@@MrSubaru1387 Yes that's what I see. I'll try ebay or amzn.
Where can I buy wright grip 2.0 metric?
Wright tolerance is far too loose for automotive. They have an extra .1+mm on a wrench, and it's once and done. I sent a 856 set back to Wright, replaced with 15 Stahlwille 14's. Less money, better made.
I don't know about that Sleepy Joe, but I will measure my wrenchs and compare
@@josephriddle2772I hope you got a good set. I used a rather cheap, uncalibrated micrometer so your numbers might be more true. The vise test is impressive, but I need a different tool if I'm breaking hardened bolts.
From the reviews I watched, the Wrightgrip2.0 have tighter tolerance than Snap-on flank drive plus (fdp) but don't hold me to it, I learned a long time ago when a nut or bolt is going to snap, round off or strip, the hard way, keep on wrenching 🔧🔧🔧🔧🔧
You probably got 20 wrench sets but 1 vise 🤣 that's understandable haha
Can't go wrong with either wrench. One set you can save $200.00. 🇺🇸
👍
This might be silly question : why have a wrench set instead of one with adjustable jaw or just any socket set?
There are many cases where you cannot fit a socket onto a nut or bolt, but you can fit a wrench. Especially if you can only access it with the open end, when you can't come over the whole fastener with a socket.
Adjustable wrenches come in handy and have their uses, but the fact that they have moving parts means that they are inherently weaker and have more failure points when a lot of force is applied. They are usually bulkier and clumsier than their fixed same-size counterparts.
Anyone know of a good distributor for the Wright wrench set
McMaster Carr, Mr tools, etc
Amazon
Nice
MrSubaru1387, Have you tried the extractor wrenches from either Matco hex grip or Capri Pro Wavedrive ?
The Matco is a huge rip-off. Rebranded ASTRO. Haven't used either though.
That’s nuts, I feel like my Pittsburgh’s could manage better than the snap-ons. My condolences on the vice.
Have you tried Carlyle non slip wrenches?
They're the exact same manufacturer as ICON and Milwaukee AntiSlips. Nothing unique or special. Just a generically made Taiwanese tool. I've used the ICON variant. Soft, and damage the teeth easily.
Sorry about your vice
What's worse, it was my buddy's vise, not mine. Now I've gotta buy him a new one! 😂 🤣
😄
That sucks
Snap on only name
True but still realy good wrenchs also
Longer pattern, more aggressive teeth, and nicer beam for Snap on. Wright tools are great but not exactly up to level of a snap on.
Buy both sets, like I did, I got 38 pieces master set Snap-on fdp and both wrightgrip2.0 metric and sae sets, there you go, can't go wrong, and I also added wrenchs to complete the sets, best of both worlds and I have been wrenching since 1972 or that was the first time I picked up a usa craftsman 1/2" and or 9/16" to tighten my bike lug nuts, I learned when a nut or bolt is going to go or round off the hard way. Keep on wrenching 🔧🔧🔧🧰🧰🔩🔩🔩
