- [Link in description] Such a fun horn! It doesn't quite follow the original designs of the Selmer or Leblanc balanced action trumpets, but it does have its own great retro vibe. CarolBrass is a great manufacturer in Taiwan, and this is one of their top-of-the-line models. Check it out here on our web store: www.austincust...
This horn has some great features, of course starting out with the balanced action design. It also comes with two full sets of valve buttons and caps (heavy and standard weight) and two tuning slides (rounded and traditional). The leadpipe is pure Sterling silver leadpipe, which gives the sound a wonderful brilliance and spin. This design uses the CarolBrass GLS bell, which is made of gold brass with a 72-style flare. It also has a Bach-style third valve slide stop rod.
The sound is a bit thicker and warmer than other balanced model trumpets, which tend to be pretty bright. It's still very efficient and easy to play. I'm working on a new prototype high-compression lead mouthpiece, and it sounds awesome with this trumpet! The horn can get as punchy and brilliant as you want, and still has a great core to the sound.
Check out this video of the Selmer 23A to compare this with another balanced action horn: • Incredible Selmer 23A ...

This horn is an absolute STEAL at this price: www.austincustombrass.biz/pre-owned-carolbrass-balanced-8060h-with-sterling-silver-leadpipe/
I have this horn and LOVE it! It is one of my favorites, and bats way better than the price tag! Carolbrass hit this trumpet straight out of the park, and then some!
I played this horn for several years, and it is a terrific instrument. In the end it was a little bit too light and b right for my taste, so back to my Kanstul 1500A, but I really had some fun with this one!
You make that horn sound awesome!
I’ve got a Carol Brass 5060 GSS again with the Stirling lead pipe, and I’m amazed at the high build quality and sound that it produces!
I’m so glad I took a chance and bought it!
Thank you for the amazing demo
Sounds great with a great player 🎺🎺🎺
Nice sounding horn. You sound really round with the larger MP but when you put in the lead MP, the horn really sang. It looked and sounded like you were having an easier time to hit the higher notes. That horn could really cut through a Big Band and has the flexibility for a commercial gig. Thanks for sharing.
Thx for posting. As with everything you play, it sounded superb. These are really cool horns. I had one in silver plate. I really wanted to love it, and I did in the lower and medium range, but for me it closed off a bit above the staff. Don't know if that was a gap or choke thing, but I ultimately sold it for that reason. Fit and finish were great. I liked the extra stuff (finger buttons, caps, tuning slide) too ... and I never crashed it into my chops = so no issue there.
Is this horn a professional or what level . Either way
It sound amazing
What model # is that prototype 10 1/2 rim mouthpiece? ACB?

How much and where can I get one.
