@@stxrships4297 (if that was sarcasm then just ignore this) no we’re not. Canonically we’re a human. The sheep is just a placeholder, since you can be any gender and look however you want. This has been stated in the game a few times, and if you just think about it, majority of the story wouldn’t make sense if they were a sheep. Btw I’m not including the manga or anime or anything, I’m simply talking about the games here.

So basically, one day you are teleported to a place you don't know, because it's the devildom where devils reside. You will get the explanation of why when you play the game. You're supposed to stay in the devildom and attend RAD, which is a school for demons as an exchange student while progressing with the storyline and there are dance battles you must clear after every chapter. You can pick your choices and you will get daily messages from them, the 7 demon brothers and also the 7 rulers of hell, the angel exchange students (Simeon & Luke) and another fellow human exchange student (Solomon) as well as the demon prince (Diavolo) and his loyal butler (Barbatos). There are currently 2 games. Obey Me! and Obey Me! nightbringer which is a sequel-prequel because it's the second game but happens in the past. As the story progresses, you and the demon brothers get closer and eventually form pacts (a contract between a human and a demon, which grants the human to use or bring out the power of that demon and be granted the ability to summon them any time). That's really it, I recommend you play the original game first and get to atleast lesson 6 before downloading Nightbringer.
