Totally agree! Staying active and reducing carbs as much as possible really helps me to stay in range as well! But it is sometimes really hard in isolation. Hope everyone is staying healthy! Stay safe!

Absolutely, it's definitely the ideal for me to reduce carbs for at least one meal a day and stick to moderate amounts at other times, but some days I do eat more carbs and I'm just going with that too. I think it's important to see it as the bigger picture rather than individual battles when we're talking about a lifetime of blood sugars, and also that helps me to maintain perspective that this situation is temporary too. I hope you're keeping well, thanks so much for watching I really appreciate it!

    Thankyou for sharing Jen,
Can relate to so much you have said.
Those morning spikes are a nuisance.
I love my porridge, and often have it for lunch instead of breakfast, and have an orange at breakfast time , to stop the morning spikes.
I didn't understand what you meant about fasting?
Like you we are allowed to go out for exercise in Australia, so that has been helping, going for a ride on my bike or a walk.
    Take care, and stay safe

Hi Rex! Thanks so much for watching and sharing your comments. I've also been known to have porridge for lunch! I'm glad you're able to get out into the air in Australia and keep moving during this time. With intermittent fasting I just mean I eat all my meals within a smaller time frame, usually within around 6 hours. It's something that really suits me, there are lots of resources around if it's something you are interested in, but it's just something I've found personally beneficial. Take care

Hi, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on the day the country went into lockdown so my experience of living with diabetes has been very stressful.
Just want to say your videos have been a huge help and made me realise I’m not the only one having difficulties living with diabetes, especially in lockdown.

Hi Gregg! Oh my goodness what a time to get diagnosed - I'm so sorry. Hopefully being at home has given you the chance to get to grips with all the information a little? There is so much to take in, I hope you're coping ok and finding your way. Have you been able to access your supplies etc? Sending virtual hugs, thank you so much for your kind comments and I'm so pleased I could be of some help. Do take care - there's lots of people in the T1 community online who will be able to answer questions so don't be afraid to reach out.

Hi Jen, thanks for your message. I am coping ok thanks and just about managing to get my supplies. I didn’t think this would happen to me at my age (51) 😬. I will keep watching your videos and will try the podcast. All the best. Gregg

You speak so well...I’ve done more of house organizing. Trying to take things out to the garage, down to the basement and back up the stars.
Keep moving and Increasing basal slowly, reducing meal sizes.
    Always good to see you!
You spoke of fasting~ when I’m stable waking up, I delay eating as long as I can. This helps my “in range” length of time and has helped tremendously with my A1C

Hi! Great advice, thank you for sharing! That slow burn 'pottering' around the house always helps my sugars level off, although I don't have much space for pottering in this flat :) Yes that's pretty much my fasting pattern; I don't eat until around 3pm so I have a lovely amount of time in range in the morning and generally through the night depending on exercise and how fatty/starchy my previous night's evening meal is, but it's helped enormously and I almost never have hypos in the morning so I've found it to be incredibly beneficial for my time in range as a bonus alongside the other health benefits. Thanks again so much for watching!
