I have watched and read so much about Ted Bundy. He was a scary person. One thing that made me stop was when she said that her brother should be the one in jail. It was just brushed over, but how weird. I was trying to find the name of her brother..
Fascinating episode!!! Well done Ana!! I was born in Nov 1977... Always cool to hear stories from that time, from people who were actually there... Edna's story is just WOW!! I'm glad she shared it after all this time..
In the mid 70s everybody hitchhiked. Growing up in the Seattle area as a teen, my girlfriends and I would often hitchhike in our halter tops and cutoffs to the U-district street fair, Golden Gardens or Green Lake to swim and sunbathe (unbeknownst to our parents) living in that imagined cocoon of safety, believing those bad things only happen to other people. It truly is only by the grace of God that we didn't fall victim to TB or any other monster. We were young with the long hair parted in the center which was the style. Our parents were horrified when they found out and frightened us to death with graphic descriptions of what can happen to young girls hitch hiking. We were grounded. for WEEKS no friends, no phone calls, just school, homework and chores. When you're young you feel invincible. You feel like the world is your oyster and parents are old and don't know anything. 🙄 Thank God for my parents. TB worked at the Seattle Crisis Clinic taking calls from people at their lowest point, sharing their most intimate pain and fears for his "advice." What a demon. He buried a lot of them on a mountain side southeast of Seattle.
Tbh I was kinda thinking this might be one of the books that are after the money but after this interview I realized how short sighted I was. thank u always for your content Ana! and thank you for the courage to right the book and share your part of your life!
There's a documentary I saw where Ted Bundy's brother was talking about him, his love and admiration for him when he was a young boy and how it has affected his life and it is absolutely heart breaking
Can you imagine someone you thought you knew and thought was a decent person was actually a monster? What if it were your father, brother, best friend? Can you imagine the conflicting emotions?
What an exceptional interview! Thank you, Edna, for opening this old wound and sharing these details with the rest of the world. I pray it helps you and your family heal from this unimaginable tragedy. Bless you. ❤
When Ted Bundy was dancing with her girlfriend and turned in to the serial killer she got him out off it by screaming, his victims saw the same but could not break that moment.
I think that is the reason why people are so attracted to people trying how we can learn to realize how to recognize serial killers. How to remember how to be safe at all times. At the same time, how could parents realize that their child could one day become a killer. Which should never be something no one should have to worry about.
Misogyny was rife in the 70s, a backlash to women campaigning for equal rights. In the UK, we had serial killer Peter Sutcliffe. I think the times maybe gave these psychopaths a sense of validation.
Fascinating interview. If I were the interviewer I would have asked them why they think Ted went wrong...what happened? I'm thinking his early life may have had something to do with that but there have been people who have been through worse that don't become serial killers.
So he told her and he told her brother, that he was planning to escape. Seems to me like maybe some people in Florida would have been appreciative if had they spoken up...quickly!

I think Ana may have miscalculated her age when Son of Sam was active as he was active in 1976, if she was 20 that would make her late 60s which is not the case. Unless I’m incorrect about timelines.
@@AnaGNews sorry I wasn’t trying to call you out, I just thought you are too impossibly gorgeous for that to be true. You’re still immensely beautiful just not late 60s :p And I understand the mush brain, my family are constantly shocked at what I don’t remember or misremember from my own life!
I remember going out on dates and sitting in cars even while son of Sam was stalking people. I was in Long Island. Youth. We were crazy. I gotta say, you don’t look my age.
Why are you doing this exposing yourself in this manner? I would not want anyone on earth to know that the same blood runs through my veins as Ted Bundy.
I was pulled over on the side of the road texting on my phone, and I felt eyes on me. I looked up, and a truck driver was parked behind me and a man was about ten feet behind my car approaching me. Who knows...but that is what a situation like that would look like.
I was in high school in Tallahassee in the late 1970s. Back then, the drinking age was 18 and some of the derelicts at school would get past the bouncer by bringing along a cute girl or two. After Bundy was arrested, one of the derelicts told us that they met Bundy at Big Daddy’s, a popular bar near the old K-Mart on Apalachee Parkway. They said he was deftly stealing drinks for them all and chatting up the girls.
I heard an expert on psychopaths say that when they get excited, such as when Ted was honing in on a possible victim or thinking about how he would torture/kill them their pupils dilate. This explains why so many people who knew him or interviewed him about his crimes would describe how his eyes went from blue to black.
Some mental problems start apx college age like schizophrenia. Where people start hearing voices. Some people hear voices that tell them to kill. I had a cousins that use to visit us for the holidays with his brothers and sisters. Both were families of 5 kids. He was very sweet and kind as a teenager. He use to read me stories and gave me special attention. When he finished high school and started college he had to go back home because he started hearing voices. He didn't hear evil voices and was able to stay home with his mom without medication. But he definitely had issues and heard voices. His Dad was a judge and his brother was a heart surgeon. His mom took care of him until she passed away. What is lacking from this conversation is what was Ted Bundy's mental diagnosis? He was not a killer until college years. Why isn't Ted Bundy's mental health discussed? It's not an excuse but it's an important part of the story that is totally missing from this forum. Other than that I learned a lot. Thank you 😊
I think it's terrible that you say the people who really suffered were the victims families and that her families side was just a narrow perspective. Sounds like you are dismissing that Bundys family truly suffered also. Not only from the shock of a family member being a violent preditor but the death of a family member and subsequent living to this day in the shadow of this preditor too. The family are victims too!!
Wow, this is a very courageous woman! Making the plan to wreck the car😮 this guy was a narcissist, alle were in awe of him And that he split his family life from his murders reminds me of the Nazis that lived the cosy home life and in their official life killed innocent people in the concentration camps
