Not really. They should have pulled the whole bandaid off, and sold the team at the same time as well - do all the changes at once, which we all already know are coming, instead of dragging it out. John is to blame for some crappy draft classes - which he has admitted were a flawed process - and horrible trades, but gets to keep his job after PC? Better to just start over.

We've been asking for O-line and D-Line upgrades for years. We lost both of our stud tackles last season with no skill-value backup. I personally am 100% fine going into this season with Geezee and #2TrueDrew! It's the best duo in the league right now. I feel we would not lose skill set if Geezee did go down. #2TrueDrew can hold it down! 🎯💯

In my opinion, the Seahawks, without Pete seem to be operating and doing things very differently under John's full control now. What that tells me, is there were differing opinions between John and Pete on how things should be done moving forward....this is just speculation but things feel very different (of course) but the biggest difference seems to be the way they've gone out and headhunted personnel, and they way they seem to be handling this draft/scouting process etc......John's doing it different and me thinks that's a good thing.

I agree. I think that the way pete handled the team these past few years, I think it drove a wedge between them.
I don't think so. PC planned to make many changes too, as stated in multiple interviews, but wasn't allowed to do it. As he stated, ownership decided it was time to hand the reigns to John - but we really don't know what that looks like yet, and frankly I'm not impressed. This coaching staff is a complete mish mash of people and so you can expect some serious continuity and quality issues for most of this year.

@@alexha2884 I’m not a twelve I live in Seattle and was a football player til college. So I like to point out typical fans who think QBs are the answer to everything. Penix is honestly not that much better than nix. Stronger arm yeah but nix has more to translate into a nfl style offense to least be a capable starter. Nix just don’t have the ability to be a pro bowl type player without the help around him. That’s for your knowledge

Not really. He had two recent decent drafts - that are still under eval - and several horrible ones before that hardly found any starters at all or players that are even still on the roster. AND HORRIBLE TRADES.
Hey people - two years ago was a "reset". Now they blew it up and we are in full rebuild. Quit acting like this team will competitive this year. For example, they don't have the $ to make the changes to fix the run defense this year - they will be paying Adams $10M a year to NOT play (or worse he will play and cost $18M). The draft capital from the Wilson trade has already been spent and neither the o-line nor the d-line are fixed/ready.

Once PC was leaving, I really hoped John would be gone as well. He isn't the great GM so many fans seem to think (lately). What happened to all the blame for crappy drafts, where players (particularly the o-line and d-line) never worked out? Or the horrible trades? John drove those activities people. Just because he had a couple decent drafts lately doesn't mean much, and it was already announced the team will be sold in the near future: they should have just done it all now.
If I had to be stuck with someone on a desert island, John's my guy. A cooler of his favorite drinks and the stories and movie quotes would be flowing.

We need first a QB, second a DT, third a OL, And for the rest of the draft, Linebackers and Safeties.
That’s 7 picks right there with no mention of TEs or WR. Maybe you could fill those two positions with FAs or a UDFA perhaps.

@@spockb1186 Both Fant and Parkinson are FAs, and Dissly is on the last year of his expensive contract. And Hawks need a replacement for Eskridge. You cannot ignore these positions. Hawks will probably try to resign Parkinson, so you need another TE (probably from the draft) as well as a WR. Hawks will need 2 Safeties if they release Adams & Diggs. They also need a backup Center, Guard, and perhaps RT in addition to all of their D-line & LB needs. Let’s see how many positions get filled by FAs before the draft.
