Welcome to this full line cab ride in Zürich, Switzerland! Join me on the tram line 6 that heads from the top of the Zürichberg in the East of the city where the famous Zurich Zoo is located. The tram navigates down at a slow speed the steep hill down to main University centre and University Hospital. This is where it encountered a dangerous crosswalk, where a person crossed out from behind a large truck as a tram arrived from one side blocking their path which could be very dangerous had our tram not been able to see the from a distance as we were just departing from the tram stop Platte. From there it navigates across the city centre, past the main station, through Bahnhofstrasse up until Paradeplatz, before turning right and heading towards the western suburb station of Enge. Thank you Hugo for another very interesting ride! This route certainly requires careful driving, especially on the steep downhill gradients and then along pedestrianised Bahnhofstrasse. What is impressive about Zurich trams is that the 'stop dwell times' are very short. Short stop dwell times are crucial if public transport is to compete with the car. Unfortunately we in Britain have not understood that point.

Thanks for those interesting facts! Yes indeed it was a steep hill requiring a lot of concentratiom on behalf of the driver! Yes, well the stop dwell time here is indeed very short and drivers won't wait on anyone, meaning when the see the last people getting in, they will already start closing the doors... indeed especially in Zurich which had grown around its public transport, the car has no chance at all!😊
