I'm so happy to have shared this video with all of Tina's fans and to read all your comments. It's one of those rare moments that is just too good to be forgotten. Some of us were old enough to remember this memorable occasion. For others who have come to know Tina after her worldwide success, it's a nice surprise for them to look back at a younger Tina. It’s spelt "Filippina" and she went by "Pina" until she acquired her stage name of TINA. Quite odd and disrespectful to refer to her by her birth name sorry to say . lovin' tina arena! she's really amazing. became a fan of hers ever since her song burn came out in 1998. flash forward to today and i watch this and a couple of other YTT vids of her for the first time, and i can see that her voice is really powerful.. she sings with such emotion that one can feel it. thanks for sharing :)

Tina Arena was my imaginary friend when I was aged 2-4 (79-81) to the extent that my parents were worried cos i kept running away to go find her house, in the end they caved and drove me round Melbourne to find it till i fell asleep. I woke up screaming the next morning cos i wasnt with my best friend Tina.
She was and still is beautiful, an excellent female Australian singer of all time. Me being male, I have enjoyed all of her songs. I have all her albums and all of her songs. She is the first best after Elvis Presley
It was an Honour to share the stage with this amazing person in 2012 when she sung this song I got goosebumps! hope to share it again with her someday.

I remember seeing this when it aired. YTT was one of the only shows that my whole family watched together. I have been a fan of Tina Arena since her days on YTT. I have vague recollections of her performing ABBA songs. We were taken to the Northland Shopping Centre in Melbourne to meet members of the Young Talent Team.
Those were the days! I used to do the Northcote Plaza singing comps up on a podium. It was fun... I should really upload a better version of this. I have better software now, but that means all the views and comment stats will disappear from this post... I don't want that...
Went to school with Tina at sister primary schools used to see her at sporting carnivals I recall kids were mean to her just immature jealousy. It could not be that easy even before social media everyone knew her bc so much exposure on YTT. I'm Italian too and I'm so happy for her that she forged an amazing career and life and now back in Melbourne. Wish her the very best in all her endeavours.
Ms Tina Arena could really belt out a tune, a true Diva, bella voce. And she thanked God too, which was surprising for such a secular show as YTT and Network 10. God bless you Ms Tina Arena.

Tina was the best talent on this show. Her voice has always been good and she is a natural performer. It's a shame she left Oz. Don't hear of her much now.

I think Tina Arena had matured fantastically during her tenure as a YTT member and her vocal talents had reflected this, in what was her swan song as a member of the team...Other than that, she was possibly the last really talented singer of that bunch. Dannii Minogue possibly ranks a close second, but in its final years, Young Talent Time had cranked out some rather mediocre talent, sad to say *sighs*

Although she still tours, her music doesn't get played on radio anymore. She tours and makes a lot of money overseas as well...but saying middle aged women love her is stupid. Women in general love her voice.

I'm not sure about that anymore Sandra. I used to think that too. But now I think Tina has earned a great deal of respect here in Oz. She also appeals to a really wide audience overall imo. They're just my thoughts.
Love her early sound, her voice is always great but she sang very chesty in her earlier years. I guess after starting an international career she needed ‘the mask’ technique for vocal health and longevity, it was only smart. She sounds a bit Olivia NJ and Sheena Easton here
