NewsRadio is one of my favorite television shows of all time. An ensemble cast and each actor was outstanding. The writing was hilarious and I laughed out loud several times every episode. Damn, I miss it.
HAAA! I remember everything. It's definitely the best thing he's ever done. He was awesome. "Flowers for Matthew" is one of my favorites. He drinks a smart drink made by Joe and becomes "Smatthew" (Smart Matthew) I own all the DVDs and bought the show again on Amazon so I could watch episodes with ease.
I'm 55 and also Canadian and Dave should know that Hockey was made Canada's second National sport when I was a teenager and teachers lost a question they knew that most if not all students would get wrong
@@normanhathaway2275 Dave's mic is at full blast, I don't think Kevin's in even on, and Dave's probably was picking up Samm. So I don't think they have a room mic, just one body mic picking up three people. But I second your Oy Gevalt.
2022,....in 2018, in many places in the USA, the sport of Curling, had begun to catch on as a sport, non- athletes, began participating in. I'm in Columbus, Ohio, and a special Curling (ice rink) or athletic center with the ability to create a series of frozen curling lanes, opened somewhere in town. They had classes where they taught it, and places to practice, and local groups formed to create teams. Every so often our local news stations would run a special on it. There were some great educational shows on TV about how it is played, the rules, the broom brushing techniques, the whole gambit. It looked like fun. The only restrictions were that one can't be obese to play, since the players have to be able to bend over, and in a semi-squatting position, play the game .
Origin context. Scott’s character was in a earlier sketch as the guy who monologues in prison about people why people don’t know English. That led to the butcher sketch
East Coast Canadians and more specifically, Newfies say aboot though the rural farming towns of Ontario, Manitoba etc also say it to a lesser degree IMO.
actually, something in what Foley references in an early answer gives me great inspiration -- I would loooooooooooooooove to see *ALEC BALDWIN* as a guest on this show (and, this may be a surprise, talk/do in fact very little of his SNL Trump impression, if any discussion on it at all).
Dave Foley is one of the most smartest and most self-aware Canadians in the entertainment industry. Except for his ridiculous "18 year old" appearance, like David Spade, looks ridiculous for a 54 year old.
Starting at 51:00 it's embarrassing to be a Canadian, knowing how obviously insecure we are about our own entertainment industry. We endlessly tout our small accomplishments, yet we do almost nothing to support our best talent.
the part where they talk about him "grabbing the boobs" of Julia Louis-Dreyfus' character on Veep made me cringe a bit as since then, she's been diagnosed with breast cancer.
so glad you worked it out with you ex i saw an interview i think on the joe rogen podcast where i got the impression you were be dragged over the coals in court in canada
As a Canadian, whenever I hear this "Canadian accent" in movies it sounds Irish. Even Canadian Jim Carry in Anchorman Two did an absolutely horrible accent that sounded like someone was after his Lucky Charms.
Theres a movie called the shipping news and it's supposed to be set in Newfoundland. But everyone talks with an irish accent. Have they never heard a newfie accent before? I guess it could bring the movie down...
blah blah blah brain science. learned phonemes. I know 3 female lounge pianists from Canada. One said "aboot" . the other two didn't. It's a real thing. Like the Scottish pronunciation. Nova Scotia. Hello. Like the US southerners that do say "geetar". You don't imagine that. It's been that way from the time the south was colonized by English who said guitar that way.

Do you remember the scene where Andy Dick fell head-first into a trash can? It killed me.

A couple of his Kids in the Hall sketches are forever burned into my brain
Matthew's Cats: Mitt Mitt St. Claire & Chew Chew Bonewagon
"Andy Dick" A latter-day Sisyphus.
Been a fan since “Kids in the Hall”. That show was so brilliant and timeless
I still get the "Daves" song in my head! 🤪
i guess I am kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good site to stream newly released tv shows online?
Dave Foley is a stalwart favorite of mine. Very versatile comedy actor.
tshandy1 stalwart. Good news radio reference!
1:20:36 "My mother's dead so..." Wow, i couldn't believe my ears. Now, i can't stop re-listening to those amazing 10 seconds.
I enjoyed this interview with an Air Conditioner but Dave Foley talking over it made it hard to understand.
LOL!
A Bug's Life is one of the greatest Pixar movies!! Such a shame it's so under appreciated. It was one of my favourites growing up.
This was so fun today with Dave Foley and past quests as always! Viewing from Stillwater Montana, thanks Kevin!
1:09:35 I will say, I loved realizing it was Dave doing the voice of Yes Man in Fallout New Vegas. Definitely a weirdly distinctive voice. :P
I love the line about the internet. "people have access to everything and curiosity about nothing." and love Aroomba sketch.
Thanks for sharing! Love the Folester!:)
The only Foley's in Hollywood were people working on the technical side of things in the sound department.
Foley's wearing his Scarborough Dinner Jacket.
Disney turned down "free"! One of the best stories ever on KPCS! A Bug's Life rocks!
The Chicken Lady date sketch makes perfect sense why Dave got NewsRadio
I'm 55 and also Canadian and Dave should know that Hockey was made Canada's second National sport when I was a teenager and teachers lost a question they knew that most if not all students would get wrong
I shook Dave’s hand after a Kids live show in Atlanta. Gave him a thumbs up 👍🏼
Love how Kevin's Mic finally works when they actually start the interview.
They should get somebody that at least half knows how to do sound.
wimps What, you don't like hearing a plugged in fridge?
they're all wearing mics, but they're using a room mic? and no one tweaks it in post? oy gevalt.
@@normanhathaway2275 Dave's mic is at full blast, I don't think Kevin's in even on, and Dave's probably was picking up Samm. So I don't think they have a room mic, just one body mic picking up three people. But I second your Oy Gevalt.
Loved this one, too. Was sorry not to hear Dave's thoughts on "Green Acres" after all.
Dave is the underrated funniest Kid
Come on, get a decent audio tech fer chrissakes. Other than that, a stellar show as usual...
I agree with his thoughts on Green Acres as mentioned by Kevin at least. Now I'm going to be on a Dave Foley binge on youtube

Best one yet
Love the Days of Wine and Roses referral.
I am glad that they brought up Girldrink Drunk, my goddamn favourite KitH sketch, appreciated!
35:50 is that WKUK reference?
Origin context. Scott’s character was in a earlier sketch as the guy who monologues in prison about people why people don’t know English. That led to the butcher sketch
I've never heard Canadians say aboot. I hear them pronounce it as a-boat, though.
East Coast Canadians and more specifically, Newfies say aboot though the rural farming towns of Ontario, Manitoba etc also say it to a lesser degree IMO.
i too have heard Aboat more often, but i was in Minnesota, just below Ontario, so it could easily be regional dialect.
It's actually "abeout"

"Prepare to dance, pillow biters" : name that kevin pollak movie
If I were asked to pick a comedian to accidentally walk in on in an airplane bathroom, it would actually be Kevin Pollak.
Holy shit with the tiny thumbnail in my youtube feed, Dave Foley looks like David Spade!
Dave Foley is one of the most smartest and most self-aware Canadians in the entertainment industry. Except for his ridiculous "18 year old" appearance, like David Spade, looks ridiculous for a 54 year old.
Who was "Norm" I wonder .. Mentioned at 59:00 .. Who didnt come out???
Norm Hiscock probably
Fabulous audio
What's the story with Uma? I can't find the standup.
The Canadian accent is in rural Ontario areas. I've seen streams with people saying aboot. I laugh everytime.
Funniest episode I've listened to.
I want to see Dave look young and pretty again.
Starting at 51:00 it's embarrassing to be a Canadian, knowing how obviously insecure we are about our own entertainment industry. We endlessly tout our small accomplishments, yet we do almost nothing to support our best talent.
Guest appears at 6:28
The best part of this interview is right at the end. Dave Foley is definitely the king of the Larry King game.
Kevins approach to podcasting.....seems to lend it self to talks shows of ye ol television....
the part where they talk about him "grabbing the boobs" of Julia Louis-Dreyfus' character on Veep made me cringe a bit as since then, she's been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The only ones in Canada who say “aboot” are ones living Ontario and in smaller towns or poorer folks near Toronto
That A Bug's Life is forgotten and Cars isn't is proof life is not fair!
this is such a great show but the sound is often so so bad...isnt that what this show is about? being listened to! someone take a coarse of something.
Kevin Pollak can never not talk about Kevin Pollak.
Sounds quality is terrible. It's a shame, I like Kevin, and definitely Dave Foley.
Kevin is looking like Rob Reiner's little brother
so glad you worked it out with you ex i saw an interview i think on the joe rogen podcast where i got the impression you were be dragged over the coals in court in canada
NO YOU ARE NOT ''AUDIBLY CORRECT''. the sounds fine sometimes how does this happen?
"Aboots on the ground...Peter Jennings.
Rick Foley played less than one complete season for the Flyers, and less than 10 games combined for two other teams in two other years.
If America decides to remake "Catweasel", I vote Dave Foley for the pilot. A legitimately funny man.
So very thrilled to see someone else in the World who knows of the wonderful Catweasel...A big Favorite of Marc Bolan, too!
Yeah children's program's back in the 70's n 80's, in my memory at least, had so much more depth than today's. Catweasel was a trip!
'Perversions of science'...lol nuff said......4600 tim hortons in canada now
Dave, you are the best part of Dr. Ken.
Warning: Kevin Pollack is difficult to endure here & talks about "Samuel Clemmons" as an influence..etc. Dave is funny & cool, per usual.
I forgot how ridiculously hot Uma was.
4613 Tim Horton's as of Dec 2016
SPOILER ALERT - They, in fact, NEVER EXPLAIN the Green Acres thing. Good Disney story, though. They're symbol is a rat for a reason....
Foley looks like he's playing a kith character.
David Spade??
I love bugs life 😢
Interview Steve-o! He has that Jackass history, he does stand-up, and he has tons of cool stories.
he's always a great guest.
Canadians don't say "aboot" they say "aboat".
"Am I audibly correct?"
Um... nope.
it's simple, Canadians don't say aboot, they say about with a touch of oooo mixed in to the ou
Tom Foley: baseball player.
Wasn't there a Tim Foley that played baseball too?
@@RandomPlayIist Yes Tim played for a few teams including the Montreal Expos
Watched it later on youtube, no audio problems.
Catheter Foley. He's famous.
52:00 my canadian ex told me this, hm.
He mentions his mom bought him booze and now Dave is a recovering alcoholic. Hope he stays sober.
He had eight years last year, probably still is
Did Gavin become Cancerboy?
the audio is terrible
I have the boxset of kids in the hall and I couldnt find the nonsensical skits that replaced the dr suess bible. Now I know why.
This would be better without the hosts and bad sound.
Wow this is the worst audio I’ve ever heard on a professional podcast.
The present is over.
shame about Kevin's mic
Every time there's something wrong with the audio. Such an amateur operation.
Hopefully it'll be fixed next time! Staying positive
"amateur operation." ...I mean, it's not like they're making any money...
Michael Colombo Well somebody gets money for the cups and t shirts he flogs on his website that say 'Kevin Pollak's Chat Show' on them

This is where interviews go to die.
yeahyeahyeah
I thought Dave Foley was dead!!
You may be thinking of Phil Hartman, who was murdered by his wife. Phil also starred on News Radio.
Tasty little meat flower.
blah blah blah brain science. learned phonemes. I know 3 female lounge pianists from Canada.

Nova Scotia. Hello. Like the US southerners that do say "geetar". You don't imagine that.

Is it weird I expected him to be dressed as a woman?
Dave Foley looks too much like David Spade and even talks like him. It’s creepy.
love this show but feel that "Dave "Foley is feeling uncomfortable.
