Amazing Bogor. We have been there twice. A lot of people around the botanical garden speak English and Dutch. I think 10 years ago we stayed at the same homestay. I can remember that place. The specialist cuisines in Bogor are Soto Bogor and kripik talas ( chips made from another kind of potato). Have nice days in Bogor.
Love your vlog, I'm sorry about the kids .. my husband experienced the same ,i was so embarrassed 😩. As for botanical garden its takes us at least 3 visits to explored every corner of the botanical garden (the green house,the dutch cemetery,the herbal garden , the museums). Maybe it needs only 30-45 minutes from center of Bogor city. You can visit Curug Leuwi Hejo, Curug Putri Kencana and others... There are some waterfalls which locations are close each other. I think you will be like all of them....

2:40 idk what happened here but most likely something lost in translation..that noodles that you showing us actually normal eggs noodles not bihun,.how do i know? Because they made from different ingredients. Normal eggs noodles in Indonesian was made from mixing flours with eggs that why you have yellow colors in it. Meanwhile, bihun is made from rice flour which give you thinner, transparents (which could change in colors because of the spices), and more fragile noodles. In a sense, bihun could contained more flavor compared to normal eggs noodle because they are better at absorbing liquid compared to normal noodles.

The weird looking thing in the market are Jengkol, a kind of nut, very meaty often called daging palsu (fake/poor man's meat), you can try them in Padang restaurant (rumah makan padang) or any Warteg.

Penjual uli bakar jujur harganya 2000 rupiah, tapi orang tua disebelahnya mengajarkan kebohongan.... kebohongan yg berbalut keramahan....

2:40 idk what happened here but most likely something lost in translation..that noodles that you showing us actually normal eggs noodles not bihun,.how do i know? Because they made from different ingredients. Normal eggs noodles in Indonesian was made from mixing flours with eggs that why you have yellow colors in it. Meanwhile, bihun is made from rice flour which give you thinner, transparents (which could change in colors because of the spices), and more fragile noodles. In a sense, bihun could contained more flavor compared to normal eggs noodle because they are better at absorbing liquid compared to normal noodles.

Ketan bakar is glutinous rice boiled in coconut milk n a little salt, then steamed n formed into square pan n cut up into rectangles, roasted ( bakar) n sprinkled with sugar n sesame seeds..

So glad you enjoyed Bogor one of favourite place. It wasn't bihun goreng you ate just regular mie goreng, must've been some mix up in the order. Bihun is rice vermicelli. The weird looking thing in the market are Jengkol, a kind of nut, very meaty often called daging palsu (fake/poor man's meat), you can try them in Padang restaurant (rumah makan padang) or any Warteg.
