@@SayHiToNyz it CLEARLY knows how to forage for its food. This particular type of animal is naturally trusting of humans and doesn't need to be domesticated. Leave it in the wild with his kind and enjoy them there. They are like ducks, friendly if you offer them food.
These should NOT be kept in captivity. They don't need to be domesticated and tamed like other animals, they are naturally trusting to humans. People selfishly keep all kinds of animals in thier homes with them thinking the animal needs them. This animal clearly doesn't. It knows how to dig for food. This little guy's in particular enjoy and NEED to burrow underground. Taking away thier form of excercise and intertainment is just selfish.

To take a meerkat from its own kind & natural environment, & keep it as a prisoner in solitary confinement, is worse than doing the same to a human. Most come originally from illegal pet trade closing to criminal networks in which many die. They are not meant to be human property, & not good pets. Many suffer due to ignorant owners with unsuitable environments. In the wild, they'd travel many km a day. Bad to promote.
