I thought I wanted to be an interior designer, but after watching 5 episodes in a row of "four weddings" I realized that wedding planning is an attainable career. It has everything I want! My own business Working with people Helping people Being creative Being happy Loving your job! This is sooo for me! This is what I'm going to do! It is a great feeling to see the reactions of the bride and groom when going over the plans for the wedding and knowing you are getting their vision right, but my absolute favorite part is when they walk into the reception for the first time! When they see what I have created for them, there is one particular look that comes across their face that I look for that just says it all. This expression is key and if you don't get it then you didn't do it right. Plan to go above and beyond their expectations by making sure you listen to and spend a lot of time on the details. The details are what can more or break you, especially when it comes to comments and reviews.
I’m 12 and for a long time I’ve always wanted to be a author. I thought it was the best job because I had a natural talent for writing. Then my ideas moved to cake decorating, but that was NOT for me. I’ve been thinking about wedding planner because it sounds fun and I would love to be that when I grow up. It would be my dream, and if anyone has tips or advise, please share.

Thank you so much for the insight. I have been curious on how to start out and how much to really charge. I think I will just go a long with my gut. I had basically planned my whole wedding under two months and still have people come to saying it was the most beautiful wedding they had been to. I realized how much I miss seeing everything together like it did.
i run a wedding shop where its a online store and now customers are asking me to add wedding planning and event planning services and event rentals ever since i did all my own wedding planning , June of 2016 was our day.

Could you advice on the material and inventory process? Did you invest in those or rent it out? Because I know not every wedding have the same theme and stuffs. I wonder if you just mass purchased all color for drapes as well as decor?
Leila NS I am not sure if you are still looking into Wedding Planning but I am a former Poli Sci student also who realized I can't stand it and decided to pursue wedding planning and so far it has been going well. Through just cold calling firms and businesses of event planners I liked the style of I have picked up at least 2 volunteer/internship positions and possible paid employment. I am now looking into certifications and schooling, so needless to say it can work for you! Just get out there and try to land a volunteer position (which many planners are really open to and some end up hiring at the end of your term!) so that you can see whether it is something you really want to pursue. I am totally open to talk with you if you'd like just send me a message!
I am currently a Junior in College, and I am majoring in Math Education, but have always had an interest in being a wedding planner, so much that I have actually considered changing majors to business. My best friend is a Photography major, and the two of us have always joked about working together and opening up a business, and now that we think about it we could definitely open our own wedding planning business. Your video inspired me to take that chance and follow my dream. Thank you :)
I'm sixteen and I live in Sydney, so the business is really hard to compete with, the houses and land properties are really expensive, and everything, in general, is more expensive than the rest of the world. I know I want to have a career path in the wedding industry, and I am deciding on wedding photography or wedding planning. Thanks for the helpful video, it will be useful to me in the process of decision-making! :)

Owning my own business and how would I start it and I thought I wouldn't make enough money & I didn't like the whole idea of no health insurance or benefits but then I watched the pros and I thought how nice to have a job that u only really work weekends and it seems like so much fun! I know I really want to be make up artist and I want a job where I can make good money on top of that and this mi
This video has really put wedding planning into perspective for me especially because I am a University student and am unhappy with what I'm taking (Political Science). I recently decided to go into wedding planning and am having a difficult time really deciding if this is what I want to do 100%. How would you suggest getting involved for volunteering? Thanks!
Thank you for being so objective. I have been coordinating weddings for free. I did one just this past weekend. Now am turning my passion into a business and this has helped me weigh all the issues i have to deal with, although am on the other side of the planet in Kenya.
