    This mic is making your smooth and airy. Somehow it is managing to do it with your voice. It is flattering.

    One thing that’s important to mention is that peluso 414 tried to recreate the OLD AKG414. Most importantly this has brass capsule and an output transformer. The new akg414s are transformerless and nylon capsule, going for a more accurate “clear” tone And the peluso is going for a more “colored” sound. I personally liked the electric guitars on this example, sounded like you can hear that slight saturation from the transformer. If you are trying to decide between 414 style mics consider the different tone of the brass capsule and the added color of the transformer. Happy mic purchasing!! 🤓

    I don't think peluso makes a bad mic. I got to interview John Peluso months ago. Their company is very customer focused and their customer service and QC are top notch. My god that C214 sounds terribly bright. Glad i didnt grab one of those. The sE4400a though sounded really nice at less than half the price of the AKG or Peluso. The C414 XLii was pretty close. Man the music test was SO clear and clean. Great job on production.

    • @Bloor005
      @Bloor005 Месяц назад

      I use the XLS quite a bit on my acoustic and i'd say the low mids and bass close. The treble definitely sounds like the XLii I've heard on youtube demos, but then thats not a great way to compare these days with youtube messing with the audio I suppose.

    • @meistudiony
      @meistudiony Месяц назад +1

      @ i use the XLii myself all the time for acoustic. Its great. The audio quality isnt too bad if you watch in 1080 or better quality.

      I never like the way the 214 sounds. I think from what I hear, it sounds great. I really don’t think it sounds as bright as he says he feels it is. It’s definitely not Lewitt bright.

    Idea: talk to a manufacturer to start a deal for "The Andrew Mic". A mic designed to your taste for vocals. I know there are great choices out there, but it would be sweet to buy The Andrew Mic from Rode/Shure/Rosswell Pro/ Newman, Sony... etc etc. Thanks!

    Really loved the music part , aswell as the fact it's built in the USA, if I didn't already have a OC818 & a C414XLS I would consider it. Do you think you can do a review of the WA-8000/WA-8000G I've been in love with that mic lately since I picked it up and all the singers I worked with recently love it aswell! Great review bandrew!

    Wow! This mic suits you. Either that or my sense of hearing has changed suddenly. Somehow this mic seems to be working for you, making your voice smooth. I think you should find your sweet spot (distance) and angle and use this one. Amazing mic. This and the Shure KSM137 suit your voice also the Sm81 perhaps.

    Hello, thank you for the video. I have question for you. I'm considering getting the Rode Procaster for my RUclips videos and live streams. In addition, I'm thinking of buying the Rode AI-1 audio interface. Do you think this setup would be sufficient, or would I also need additional equipment like a FetHead? I would greatly appreciate your response.

    I had two of these I bought as a pair (used(. Had some issues with both of em. The place I bought them from help out and getting them fixed and was free from Peluso. Anyway, I sold one. My experience is I love it for acoustic guitar, center/mono drum overhead, mono drum room and vocals on the right voice. I gets used a good amount in my studio. The music demo was quite enjoyable.

    Someone please suggest me a pencil condenser mic that is as flattering as this one. My personal experience is with AKG perception 150 and behringer B-5 only. The AKG 150 was great but it has electrical interference issues and some internal noise. Anything with a smoother airy voice that can be used at 12 inches away for livestream and at 6 inches for voiceover. Something in the 100 to 300 USD bracket.

      sennheiser makes some affordable shotgun mics in that price range. I think the one everyone uses is over a thousand though. You could try Lewitt LCT 140 very affordable, and bright SDC option. Also don’t be afraid to buy used, often they are half price but still perfect usable condition, on reverb, Facebook marketplace, eBay.

    70s folk vibes with those vocals, man! Holy folk.
    Oh and I'll say one thing about the AKG competition... their cases aint as robust as they used to be. Crappy hardboard that dings and scratches. Flimsy hinges etc. Just not a fan of the cost-cutting they've done in recent years. I have a 1990s c3000 in a far better case (solid ABS)

    I feel the LCT-440 is brighter in the midtreble I think with a weirder midrange, and yeah the AKG C414 is somehow more sedate up top which is wild to say. I like it more than the TLM103-- more normal sounding, the 103's weird midrange is coming to light here. Overall I feel that it's hardly a BAD mic, but for 1200 USD then yeah you'd best hope it's at least competent cuz there's a lot of good stuff at that tier.
    LOVE it on the electric FWIW. Acoustic is a bit thinner than preferable but I've heard much worse I think. Suits your singing voice splendidly. I was too busy appreciating the vocals to notice possible innuendo rofl.

    You should start a band with those seven guitarists and call yerselves "The Bandrews." Oh, regarding the mic, nah, not so much. I mean if you need a lot of air, okay. I did like it on acoustic. But, too much $$$ for all of that top end. And that shock mount looks like it came from the bargain bin on Am@Zon.
