Late reply, but this game definitely had space for the purple gem and its platform. Although that would've made Toxic Tunnels an even greater nightmare.
This video of seeing Crash collecting the gems 💎 is so awesome that the ActiVision mascot deserves to become a new dlc fighter for Smash which I’m rooting for him so much.
I also hope he becomes the mascot of Toy for Boy where there is a small animation with Crash and the logo that starts before every game, like illumination does with the minions.
yeah i just finished the game, i died like 150 times in last level before final meeting with Cortex. I love this game, finally after more than 20 years I survived till proper sequel. Can't wait for next installments

The yellow one is above a stack of boxes a bit after the start, which you should reach by bouncing on the first few boxes after the jetboard, and then double jump above the top of those boxes. Funnily enough, this is one of the few gems I got by accident.
I don't know if this was intentional or not but the thumbnail almost made me think there was a purple gem and a grey gem in the game, when there actually aren't.
I prefer the insane trilligy gem paths they were longer and more exciting to play but when I hop on a gem path in crash 4 I don't get that same nostalgia playing who else agrees?
Lol because many gem paths in the trilogy have spatial continuity of the normal route-i.e. it doesn't fade out and bring you to a very different environment like in the 4.
In what way were they exciting to play. In crash 2 only one of those was great like the green gem path and the yellow gem path was good in the ruin, the rest were decent at best. In crash 4 all of them are exciting with the exception of the red gem path.
