I just watched The Six Triple Eight. It was beautifully done. The real Lena Derricut, who is the main character, lived just long enough to see the film. She was the last one of the 855 women soldiers in her battalion.
This is an incredible coincidence - I just pitched this topic for a paper to my professor; I was inspired by visiting Normandy and not seeing any diversity in the literature available in the bookstores there, so I went on a hunt and found out about the 6888; so when I had the chance to choose a topic for a paper I decided to do it on them - JUST THIS WEEK - and now to see this video is amazing - thank you so much for posting it, I'm grateful to find out about the project and super excited to see it, thanks again!
@@queeningod OMG - I'm so sorry; the worst typo ever; I'm so embarrassed; thank you for the correction - I'm going to edit my original post. Thank you.
Such a great revelation of history!!! Shame on Amerikkka for not honoring these patriotic women! And to not bury the soldiers who gave their lives during the assignment! 😢
om gosh. these were real people? ...they painted colours on the characters skins ,faces, clothes, soooo much, i really thought that it was just animation...
Outstanding!!! (And Big Sean, you look just like your grandmother!!!! How special for your family!)
My great aunt Margaret Barnes was one of those beautiful, courageous Black women. I'm so proud and very grateful!

Just found out that there are still two women alive from the 6888. I'm gonna try to find out their names. God bless them!
Can’t wait to see the movie and so dope Big Sean’s grandma is part of this history too ❤️🖤💚
I think it's already out on Netflix.
Important story of unsung military heroes.🤩
Thank you grandmother we celebrate your service 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This is great. Black Legacy Matters. Black History Matters.

Go for it and much succes.
That was so cool
Wow. He looks a lot like her too
I was just thinking this ❤
Hopefully Tyler did the same research Kerry did so the script will be written well. Debbie Allen is an excellent choice to be part of this project
Research isn't Tyler's issue. It's bad writing.
Wow❤
Still we rise. THEY put every obstacle in the ladies way and those women achieved despite it all. So proud of those black women! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Great honor

Such as Shame
OMG! My grandmother's name was Mildred Virginia but with a different last name. Wonder what the significance to that name combination is.
