Thank you for this video. I think the message of connection is strong - as is the language around how we describe ourselves and indigenous people. Thanks for making me always consider my own language and how to be mindful.

This is not only a 'western issue'. I think what I've noticed a lot, is the negative language Aboriginal people also use towards other Aboriginal people who are changing, and evolving and developing contemporary views. The very language Anita mentioned, is the language we hear in Central Australia, with Aboriginal people calling other Aboriginal people "coconuts" or suggesting they have been "corrupted by their white [insert parent]"... It will take a concerted effort from all people to recognise the sameness of the human 'race'. Interestingly, Anita pointed out that the Audience identify as Australians (with multiple heritages), unfortunately many Aboriginal people do not recognise themselves as Australians, or they are identified (by themselves or others) as Aboriginal Australians. As proud as we are of our heritages - whatever they might be - how does it help connect people if we continue to separate people as we identify them by their heritage, rather than celebrate them as fellow Australians?

I read the my story book when I was little, it was the first time I learnt about the stolen generation and thought about what that might actually feel like if I was a stolen aboriginal child!

Are there any young Wiradjuri woman writers in the pipeline? Anita is cold war relic, like James Bond.

what can be more global issues than racism and discrimination? We all are victims of the systemic and internalised concept of "racc" anyways.
